What's great about it: Easy to set up. Audio sounds great!
"This is such a neat clock radio, plus it has a built-in CD player! For a small clock radio, the audio sounds great. I haven't found any that can compare with this one, so I highly recommend buying one of these. I just love it!"

What's great about it: Easy to use -- easy to set clocks & alarms, easy to turn on/off, versatile.
What's not so great: I wish it would dock a Sansa mp3 player!
"I was surprised how easy it is to set the clock and alarm, and that the unit looks much nicer than I would have thought--compact, elegant. I listen to npr a lot, so I am pleased with the excellent FM reception. I love that I can use my Sansa mp3 player as an accessory by input plug (wish I could dock it). Battery backup would have been nice.
This is much easier to use than any other CD alarm clock I have encountered. I have always had great experience with Sony electronic music devices in terms of reliability and excellent sound, so I expect to be satisfied with this product for a continue for a long time to come."

Worst Sony product ever

What's great about it: Nothing comes to mind
What's not so great: Controls are re-tarded. No repeat/shuffle feature.
"Have an older Dream Machine for my daughter and we love it. Got this one for my son and was very confused and disappointed. Who makes a CD player that doesn't have a Repeat or Shuffle feature?
Also the volume and tuning dials are around the back and impossible to use easily. This will be going back to the store as soon as we get there."

What's great about it: mostly intuitive clock and alarm setting
What's not so great: manual radio tuning; manual volume knob -- both hidden at back
"its a sony, good quality sound. dual alarms that are reasonably intuitive to use while fumbling in the dark. but the killer is the volume knob. have to pick up the unit and turn it around to figure out which is the volume knob. great if you never change the volume but inaccessable while lying in bed. give this one a pass."

What's great about it: Front audio input, dual alarms
What's not so great: Sound quality, controls poorly located, and disrepute to Sony's name.
"I bought this for my wife to replace a decade old radio. The sound quality was second to no sound at all-literally. We turned it off after our extreme disappointment.
Additionally, the controls are quite poorly located. You must reach to the back side to adjust the volume and turn or tip the radio to the side to see the station you are adjusting it to.
I am not use to being disappointed with Sony products. I am leaving to return it now."

What's not so great: For $43, sound quality is not great. Buzzer is not loud enough. Manually tuning radi
"For the price I thought the sound quality would be much better. Listening to music you need to turn the volume to maximum. Manually tuning to a radio station is outdated. You need to get the station to just the right spot to hear it clear. I was disappointed that Sony put out a product of such low quality. I am taking this back to the store."

What's great about it: Options are great. Sound is good. Dual alarm works nicely. CD player still works even after 1.5 years.
What's not so great: Buzzer could be louder. For the brand name the quality could be improved.
"I puchased this alarm at a different store. It worked beautifully until about the year and a half mark when the display began to wear out. Now I cannot tell if it is 6 o'clock or 5 o'clock when I am setting the alarm or wake up late :)."

What's great about it: Large display, easy to set up alarms
What's not so great: Sound quality and volume, audio in-line, position of tuner and volume knobs, no battery back-up, no headphone jack
"Our 14 year old Magnavox CD dual alarm clock radio's CD player gave up. It was used almost everyday. It played our CDs and preformatted ones. We took our own CD and put it into a number of machines. They all sounded terrible so we settled for this least bad sounding one. Looks nice, small footprint, has an audio in jack for use with the Sansa, big adjustable display,top loading, OK price, etc.
The sound volume gets reduced when the in-line jack is used. So we turned up the volume on the Sansa and this unit to the max and still find it less than satisfactory. We both have good hearing and are disappointed with Mr. Sony.
This is going back from whence it came."

What's great about it: large numbers, in line
"I really liked this clock, but the volume control is in the back right hand "corner" of the clock, which, my night stand being on my left, was too difficult to use. I had to pick it up the clock, locate the volume control, and then play with it to figure out which way to move the dial. Why it's not a clockwise/counterclockwise knob on top beats me. Very disappointing that one of the most frequently used controls would be in such an obscure spot. Finally got fed up and returned it to the store."

What's great about it: so many choices to wake you up
What's not so great: none
"My son needed an alarm clock to "wake the dead"! He can wake up to his favorite cd. I loved how well it works and how easy it is, and got one for myself. I just use the alarm, but it is nice to know how many options I have."

What's not so great: no battery back up
"I purchased this product hoping to fit it on a small night table with a lamp. No problem, room to spare. Easy to set up, good sound and just a bit bigger than the CD put into it, made it the perfect choice for me. Digital hours and minutes display fairly big, but big deal. Brightness is adjustable. No Battery back up, I can live with it. Out of all the models I looked at, I liked this one best and it hasn't disappointed me. I can always count on Sony!"
