What's great about it: Easy to install, and good price.
What's not so great: No short falls that I could speak of .
"Our existing Microwave finally went out and I replaced it with this GE spcemaker. The whole process was very easy and had it completely installed in less than a hour. I researched this microwave before and found it to be very competitive among other microwaves as well as having a good price, was actually cheaper than previous microwave and had many additional options. This microwave was best bang for the buck for my needs. Have had the microwave for over a month and works great and is very quiet."

What's great about it: powerful, fairly quite, efficient exhaust, easy installation
What's not so great: No clear coat on the stainless steel, door design is bulky
"This unit looks and works great! As someone else pointed out, the door design is 1" taller than it needs to be. At the very bottom of the door, there is an extra inch of stainless steel that could be shaved off; the door is actually bigger than the microwave needs it to be. I guess the designer wanted an even border of stainless steel to accommodate the "smiling" window shape. All my other Stainless appliances have a clear coating that prevents fingerprints and smudges. This GE has no clear coat, so fingers on the bare metal leave a very visible smudge. This unit includes a metal rack for extra dishes to be heated. For years we were told not to put metal inside. Well, this rack works great! Overall, I'm very pleased with this unit, and the price seems very fair. The instructions for installation were easy to follow, even for us non experts. Larry"

What's great about it: Clean looking and quiet operation
What's not so great: Haven't found anything yet
"I bought this microwave about 3 weeks ago. It took my husband and I only about 1 1/2 to install and that included removing the old microwave. The instructions were clear and easy to read and understand.
We had a 13 year old GE Spacemaker that was in the house when we moved in. It's only downfalls were that it had no turntable and was only 850 watts. It took forever to heat anything up.
We chose this GE because we are updating all of our appliances one piece at a time and wanted to replace with all Stainless Steel. We have all black now. This microwave works great, runs quietly, and so far with daily use I have had absolutely no problems.
If you are looking for a new over the range microwave, this is one is a great purchase."

What's great about it: Great price Quality stainless
What's not so great: Timer alarm not that loud
"This was the best rated model of Microwave in the 300-400 dollar range. I has exceeded my expectaions so far. Best Buy Installation had The old unit out and this one in less than 45 minutes. I Best buy matched the lowest price and there install was the cheapest of my three comparisons."

What's great about it: It is a great microwave except
What's not so great: the door design
"The door hangs down lower that the front of the microwave by at least an inch. It should have been designed to end at the bottom of the microwave to provide more visibility of the cook top beneath it. This is especially a factor if you are tall."

What's great about it: Easy Installation, Looks Awesome, Cooks excellent, Not too loud
What's not so great: Fingerprints, Doesn't come with charcol filter
"Installation asks for 2 people, but I was able to do just about all the work myself. I only needed someone to hold the unit in place while I secured it with screws. It looks great in my kitchen. The sensor cooking is excellent in heating up my food to the perfect temperature, and it makes a great bag of popcorn! The only thing I was unhappy about was if you dont have a vent you can set the microwave to recirculate but you need a special charcol filter which is not included. It cost me almost $40 for this filter. Instructions also weren't clear how to install this filter and I almost broke the unit trying to install it."

Great Microwave

What's great about it: Attractive design, quiet.
What's not so great: None so far
"I recently purchased (and reviewed) the GE JVM 1540 and was very dissapointed in that unit as it was very loud. I took it back and bought this unit and couldnt be happier about the decision. First off this unit is quiet, very happy about that! It is very attractive and at 1000 watts it gets the job done. Installation was a breeze so I really have nothing to complain about. Again, it is a very attractive microwave and really dressed up our kitchen. We dont really do a lot with a microwave other than cook popcorn, and warm things up so I cant say if it has a lot of great features, of course you can read for yourself about those."
