Unable to see picture if you are looking at it from any angle other than looking straight at it. I have a Sharp Aquos and you can see it perfectly from any angle.
What's not so great: Picture Quality - Poor

Got this TV for our bedroom after our old 19" standard definition set went out and we're very pleased. Of course the HD is hot with the crispy picture, but it's also the look and feel of this TV that makes it even hotter. It has a smooth glossy finish and touch sensitive buttons on the set itself that really set it off. The number of inputs is just want we needed and with Samsung's excellent technology behind their design the HD experience is better than any other 19" HDTV out there. The compaq design also let us stack it on our current TV stand without having to buy a new one. We also have the option of mounting it on the wall, but decided the stand was all we needed. Great little TV!
What's great about it: Excellent picture and sound, easy to use features

I remember a time when Sony TV's used to be highly appraised for its quality. Not that Sony is less deserving now, but in recent years, Samsung has taken over the crown. Samsung was really a no-name company in the US market few years back and was almost a budget brand, but rapidly became popular among electronic enthusiasts for its quality and innovation. And this little TV is no exception. The only nag I have is that I use this TV in my small bedroom and although the size is perfect, I always regret that I should have opted for the 23" or the 26".
What's great about it: Samsung almost always outshines the rest in terms of picture quality. Attractive design.
What's not so great: Should have bought a bigger one.

I am disappointed in this set for the money. I expected better from Samsung. I actually have HD cable and the image is just not that sharp. My Sony Wega with traditional tube looks better. I will we taking it back, by the time you add tax to the price you have a expensive little 19in tv. Sorry for this review because I really like Samsung products. I can say it looks sharp sitting next to my Samsung computer monitor.

Overall I am impressed by this set despite the fact I have a direct cable connection and no cable box. I think that if there were a cable box the picture quality would be better than what I am experiencing. There are a lot of features packed into this small set that make it worth the money.
What's great about it: Design, picture quality, options,
What's not so great: Direct cable hook up set up took a little work, a little annoying.

This is a great television. It is sleek & chic. It can stand alone or be wall mounted. In addition, the picture is simply outstanding. The sound is good in a medium sized room. There are touch screen adjustments that are difficult to use, but the remote control offers comprehensive tuning. I am very happy with my purchase. This television was well worth the cost and offered many options for my entertainment system's configuration. I would purchase it again if given the opportunity.

This is a great little tv for our bedroom. We have had no problems with it so far. Hooks up easy to our dvd player and plays movies beautifully. Plugged into regular cable and the tv picture quality is better than I expected since we don't have hdtv. Would definetly buy again!
What's great about it: perfect for bedroom, great picture, sounds great too.
What's not so great: slow to turn on but not annoying enough to lower rating

This tv has very sharp quality pictures. The speakers are ok but not what I would call surround sound quality. It's really lightweight which is really nice. A little pricey for the size of tv but I caught it on sale and also had some reward zone money so that helped a lot. The remote control I haven't been able to get it to work with my other components yet. Overall a very nice tv.
What's great about it: Small and the perfect size for a bedroom
What's not so great: Remote, having a hard time getting it to work with the other components

Well I finally decided to go with the Samsung after I had returned the Insignia and LG. Let me just say that this TV was definitly worth it. The only gripe I have about this TV is that the speakers, even though Samsung says they are the surround sound speakers, just sound ok at best and the price of the TV can be high at times. Luckily I happen to have purchased it when it was on sale.
I really like the design of the new Samsungs, the touch side panel is really cool. It is a very nice looking TV. I hooked up my Nintendo Wii and my Xbox 360 and they both looked great, via the Wii was in 480p with component cables and the 360 in 720p with HDMI. Both looked great and the "Game Mode" feature does make the picture better in a sense. Basic cable looked how it should and DVD's look fine. For a 19 inch it also gives the user a pretty good amount of customizing options for the picture. Almost everything is adjustable from the menu so it allows for users to get really in depth.
Overall I was pleased with this TV and am sorry to say that I will be returning this one as well. I only say that though because I will be upgrading to the 23 inch version because I just found out I will be able to fit it into my cabinet. If I had to stay with 19 inches though, this TV would be my first choice. Good job Samsung.

I recieved the T.V. and had been told before that Samsung was one of the better brands. I have the Xbox 360 HD player--which is outstanding with Component cables on my Philips real-flat tube tv, over 4 years old. Hooked the Samsung up with Dynex brand HDMI connected to Xbox 360; PC VGA to computer; and then tried component. All three were defective.
PC Mode was not working.
Picture quality with HD Eyes Wide Shut, The Big Lebowski, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory looked quite terrible--lots of orange in Willly Wonka facial complexions. Several lights were cascading in an area, or blinking red, green and blue.
Maybe the Xbox 360 is only compatible in HD with Xbox brand HDMI.
Took TV back and may go with the Philips 19" LCD HDTV. The current Philips brand TV I own has a Digital Comb, and several picture enhancements.
Alas, if that turns futile I will cease.

I love this TV. It is my first flat screen/high def tv, and it is great!!! It is the perfect size in my room and has such a sleek design. If I had to complain about anything, it is hard to see the volume/tv channel controls on the side of the tv, but that's what the remote is for right...

I got this as a gift for Christmas and LOVE it. It's the first flat panel TV in the house and it's amazing how much lighter it is (obviously... it's much less bulky.) The picture and sound are great, especially for a smaller TV with smaller speakers. It's light enough with a small enough base to sit on top of a DVD player without harming it which is wonderful. I don't really like the buttons on the TV--they're difficult to see even very close. The only other complaint I have is that from certain angles it's difficult to see (because it's LCD, not because of the TV's quality,) but, like I said, I'm used to the older tube TVs.
What's great about it: Great picture, great sound, I love it!
What's not so great: Buttons on the side hard to see.
I would recommend this to a friend!

In general, I am very pleased with this TV. The picture is great; very deep colors and brigt whites too. The HD channels come in very clear and brilliant, and I think the sound is great, though others here seem to disagree. I hooked it up yesterday, and had a bit of a problem synching the cable remote(I had to go back and exchange the new remote the Cable company gave me; they were also not the most helpful in setting up the HD channnels, but once completed they work great). There is a bit of a scramble moving from HD to regular channels for a split second, but no big deal. One thing, the volume on the Cable remote, after synching, is sort of slow. I have to increase/decrease sound in single increments; I can't hold it down for constant movement up and down. Not a big problem though. The unit fits perfectly in my den, and is just the right size. I would definitely recommend this TV to others.

Bought this television for my wife for Christmas. What a disappointment when I hooked it up on Christmas morning and got no picture at all. I received audio feed but no video. Called the Samsung 800 number and after answering a few questions, I was told the television needs servicing. I told the representative that I would be returning the television to Best Buy,,..I do not want a brand new television sent to a service center for reparis. This is the first Samsung that I ever purchased. I probably just got a lemon and hopefully Best Buy will replace the television (with no hassle) and I will be as satified as the others who have reviewed this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this TV. This is my first HDTV and I am very satisifed with it. Its small enough to fit where I need it to go but large enough to view confortably. It has a great HD picture and I think it has great sound dispite the other reviews. I'm happy with this HDTV. I would recommend this tv to anyone.

Honestly, I don't think that last con is much of a problem, because a built-in DVD player is just one more thing that could go wrong with a set.
Got an Insignia first, it had awful picture for the non-HD channels, and a burnt-out pixel in the center of the screen. Took it back, got this set, and am now in love. Great picture, great sound, it's worth the little extra you spend.
What's great about it: Everything: great picture (even for non-HD channels), great sound, easy setup and menus
What's not so great: A little more expensive, and you do need to get an external DVD player

Bought this TV for the master bedroom. We have a Samsung LCD 1080p in the 40" model for our viewing in the living area. Made the decision to purchase another Samsung in a smaller version. Picture and sound quality are way above board when compared to other brands manufacturing this size. You won't be disappointed with the purchase of this "little dynamo".
What's great about it: Ready to go right out of the box. Set up menu is user friendly. Great picture, especially on HD antenna.
What's not so great: None

Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase. The picture and sound quality are acceptable for a 19" LCD. I use this for a TV and also my computer monitor. It has a picture-in-picture feature so I can be on the computer while watching TV in the corner of the screen. My favorite feature is the fact that it has a built in digital tuner so you don't need a cable box to pick up HD channels off the air or over your standard wired cable. There is some inconsistency in color between channels but this may be due to the different broadcasts, not the TV.
What's great about it: Sleekness, simplicity, feature-rich
What's not so great: Buttons on bezel are hard to see, better to use the remote

I had this tv for almost 6 months and it has done a preatty good job. The picture quality is good specially on HD quality inputs. I have used it for gaming, computer applications and regular dvd watching. As always as with all lcds or hd tvs you have to fine tune the picture. After fine tuning the picture on this tv the picture looks great. Also i would recomend using the hdmi or component inputs for your dvd player since it gives you a better picture. Another thing i should metion is distance. I noticed that the picture looks great at about 4 feet of distance. In other words dont be extremly close to the tv so you can enjoy the tv better. The price is reasonable for the quality and features. The only con that i noticed was the sound quality although not bad it could be better but i guess since is a small tv there is not much they could do without making the price higher.
