"BOUGHT THIS BABY OVER A YEAR AGO. SINCE THEN, I HAVE BOUGHT THREE OTHER PHILIPS LCD HDTV FLAT SCREENS, FOUR IN ALL. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH TELEVISION ITSELF. PARTICULARLY LOVE THE BLACK MIRROR FINISH AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE TV SCREEN. THIS DESIGN IS BY FAR THE MOST HANDSOME OF ALL DESIGNS OUT THERE. WHO WOULD WANT THE OLD CHROME OR SILVER LOOKING DESIGN WITH THE FISHNET HOLES. THE STAND AS YOU SEE IT, NEEDS TO BE DUMPED. EITHER GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS STAND AND PAINT IT BLACK OR DEVELOP THE OVAL SHAPED PLASTIC STAND THAT SAMSUNG USES ALOT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND PHILIPS THOUGH."

What's great about it: usb port, 3200-1 contrast ratio, easy setup, great sound and picture quality, energy star What's not so great: takes awhile to turn on, no sleep timer countdown!
"The Philips 32' LCD is a great buy. I've had this hdtv for over a year now and it still operates like new. Its also an energy star product so you know your saving money each and every year. Has a usb port, headphone jack, and video composites on the side of the hdtv for convienence. The hdmi ports are in the back so it can be hard to access. Awesome 3200-1 contrast ratio. The only problem is it takes a few seconds to turn on once its off. All in all, I was more than satisfied with this product. It'll be decades before I even think about buying another lcd hdtv."

"Like many others I purchased this TV on Black Friday as the price was dramatically reduced (about $200 cheaper than normal). I had been researching flat screens at BB, deciding which one was the right one for me and when the sale came along, the choice was all too clear. I'll admit that this is my first flat screen purchase and I couldn't be happier. I don't know how I ever watched TV before. The picture is sharp and clear and the sound is excellent. And the size (32") is just right. I initially thought I wanted bigger, but I am perfectly content. When you first hook the TV up it takes you through a setup menu where you select picture and sound specifications to your liking, (a feature I definitely enjoyed). I also like the ease of the TV features. I'm one of those people who falls asleep to watching TV, and with the sleep timer, I never have to worry about the TV running all night. All in all, an excellent choice for first time flat screen buyers. Lastly, I'll mention that I was a member of BB's Reward Zone Program, where you get points with every BB purchase you make, which eventually earn you certificates towards BB merchandise. With the price of the TV, combined with a holiday promotion, I earned about $30 in gift certificates. A nice bonus and an excellent idea if you're an avid BB shopper like I am. :)"

"I ordered this product online because it seemed like a great deal for the price, which was very reasonable on Black Friday. When it arrived I was very impressed by the sleek design and size. However the picture quality turned out to be a little disappointing, as it was not as clear as expected and appearing somewhat pixelated at times. We never returned this product because all in all it is a nice tv, and you get what you pay for."

"I brought this produce 4months ago during thanksgiving sale and I'm very happy about the product so far. Brought home fixed it and got it hooked to cable in to time. Installation and set up are very easy, the remote that comes with it is very simple and easy to operate. I would definitely recommend this product. If you thinking to buy Samsumg or philips which I myself confused in the biginging, I would definitely say you should go for Philips you will get the same quality and satisfaction with much lower investment."

"I can honestly say that this is the sharpest looking HDTV I have ever seen. Not only does the HD picture make it seem like you're looking through a window into real life but the SD picture on regular chanels is so good I do a double take and wonder if it is also in HD. Many HD Tv's that I looked at had a great HD picture but the SD picture was worse than a regular SDTV. It is a very slim and lightweight TV with fantastic amplified sound that fills up the room like a surround sound system. Another great feature is that it sits on a very nice swivel stand. I have two other HDTV's that are larger and much more expensive but this is my favorite TV by a large margin. Look no further and buy this TV."

A great TV with one little flaw01/20/2008

"I purchased this TV on Black Friday because it was on sale at BB for a nice price. I just returned it this morning and picked up a different brand. In all fairness to the TV, it had a gorgeous picture and the sound was pretty good for built-in speakers. There was seldom any noticable blur and the colors were deep and rich. HD channels were razor sharp and SD channels were nice and clear as well. Scrolling items such as the tickers on sports and news channels, (usually a sore spot for LCD's), were clear and easy to read. Sporting events, such as football (another sore spot for LCD's) were sharp, clear, and blur-free. All in all, I would have definitely kept the set if not for the bad part: problems with sound on HDMI. I had HD cable connected to the HDMI 1 port. I noticed the sound kept dropping and I had to change the channel to get it back. I initially attributed it to the cable service because I previously had satellite television plugged into the S-VHS jack and it was problem free. However, I purchased a new HD DVD player yesterday and connected it to the second HDMI port. Same problem; sometimes no sound when we started a DVD. We had to select a different input on the remote and return to HDMI 2 to get the sound to return. I realized it wasn't my cable, but a problem with sound over HDMI on the TV. As I mentioned, I exchanged it for a different brand. I might have just gotten a bad apple out of the bunch. However, I didn't want to take a chance that it's a problem with the brand. Also, the software on the set is easily upgradable, (turn set off, download software from Philips website to an empty USB drive via your computer, insert drive into USB port on set, turn set on, and it automatically updates), so I'm going to write Philips advising them of my experience and maybe the problem can be addressed in a future software upgrade. I checked for an update before returning the set, however I already had the latest version. So in a nutshell, I highly recommend this set if you're not as paranoid as me. Other than my sound issue, it performed flawlessly."

"I bought this tv a couple months ago from Best Buy and I've been completely satisfied. When I first hooked it up the set up was easy and entertaining. If you have ever been to the eye doctor and had them ask you which view you like better 1 or 2, 2 or 3, 1 or 4, its kinda like that. They ask which sound you prefer, which picture and so on. I have a PS3 hooked up to it for games and Blu-Ray and it looks amazing. The sound quality is dynamic and the picture is stunning. I havent had any problems with it so far in my 4 months of having it. The only thing that gets a little annoying is the fact that it takes around 15 seconds to load once you turn it on. The mulitple HDMI and USB ports are also helpful for adding any number of items."

"I bought this tv since I needed an upgrade really bad. I was comparing this philips tv to the insignia, vizo, and jvc, and I have to say this was the best one for me. It had the usb port I wanted (show photo's on my tv with my 4g flash drive), side connection which some do and some do not have (great for my camera/camcorder conections), high contrast ratio which was 3,200/1 while others were 1,200/1-1,000/1.
Over all, the tv looks great, is light weight, and has a nice sharp picture, plus the sound is great too 20w compared to most 32" with 10w. One thing this tv is missing but it would have been nice is the computer monitor port, but o well, in happy with it!"

"I decided to purchase this tv because of the deep discount best buy was offering online. i should have known better. the tv arrived, worked off and on for a little over a week, and finally stopped turning on altogether. i didn't even have the product for two weeks before it completely shut down. thankfully, best buy was willing to replace the tv with a comparable product at the same price, but save yourself the hassle and spring for a better, slightly more expensive tv from the start."

"I purchased this TV on BlackFriday from Best Buy like many of the other persons listed. However, what made me choose it is the dynamic contrast for the price that you get (3,200:1). People, you got to pay attention to these numbers they make all the difference. Alot of TV's with cheaper prices have lower contrast numbers (1,000:1), you will not get that nice crisp picture. Ask the sales person like I did and they will tell you that this number is one of the major differences when it comes to pricing along a couple of features and name branding. The couple of seconds delay is not a big deal at all. You hardly notice it after awhile. Placed it in the bedroom and everything looks great espically in HD! Looking forward to upgrading the living room to 42 or better."

"This Philips 32PFL5332D/37 32" LCD replaces a 10+ year old CRT that was about the size & weight of a baby elephant. With the 720p/1080i resolution at 1366 x 768 the picture is extremely clear & sharp when connected to an HD source. The 2 HDMI, 2 composite, 2 component, 1 S-video, 3 Audio L/R and a USB connection provide all the connection possibilities and with a 3200:1 contrast ratio, this an extremely good second set that is very suitable for wall mounting in a bedroom. However, table top swivel mount stand is also a plus. The user menu is very easy and intuitive. The remote seems to be of lesser quality than the TV, but if you connect to cable or sat dish you probably won't use it anyway other than during initial setup(s). One very minor drawback is the short delay between powering the unit on and when it displays the picture, minor but necessary for proper operation."

"I Bought this TV on black friday, I was At bestbuy and was looking for a Deal On a Laptop but found this deal way too good to pass on, Bought it after deciding b/n this and the 42" Westinghouse which was not on Blackfriday deal but only a few dollars more. Took this baby home, watched Tranformers, Blood Diamond On HD DVD, great pic and even my regular ATT Uverse channels switched to widescreen.
The Real reason I bought this set was for my Xbox 360, which i use a lot, the problem is no matter how much i tweek the color to suit a game it turns out bad, basically White is too white and black is pitch black when in a Game mode. Games like Bioshock & Jericho looks awfully pitch black and my HDMI set up is set to standard not extended. All my sport games looks pixelated on the edges and the players look rough. it breaks my heart to see this as i wanted this TV for the Good deal i got. tried to do the Update from Philips.com and the TV won't even recognize the update....SMH!
Im going to Return this for the Westinghouse 42" this weekend or I'll probably get the Hanns-G 28" PC monitor that does 1920 X 1200 with HDMI"

"I bought this TV on BF 2007 for 600$. I did little bit of research before buying a HDTV. Since, I was looking for a 32 inch TV, I prefered a 720p LCD instead of 1080p and also Plasma TV. Looked at various brands with prices varying from about 500-800$ depending upon contrast ratio (1000:1 to 6000:1), picture quality, availability of tuners/inputs, brand image, etc. This Philips LCD has 3200:1 with great picture quality. Has QAM tuner along with NTSC and ATSC tuners, to get free HD channels. Normal cable channels also look pretty good. The speakers are good. 100% satisfied !"
