What's not so great: Response Time is a tad bit slow but negligible
"Bang for your buck!!! I got this set when it was marked down to $1999. So you can not, I mean can not beat the price for the size, picture quality, contrast ratio, brand and number of HDMI ports! The set does get a little hot on the outside when it has been on for a while. But this has no effect at all on performance. Just maintain a cool environment to ensure max lifetime I say. Response time is a little slow when compared to other tv models in the same class but really negligible. Awesome buy!!!"

"I absolutely love this TV. Everytime I come into the room I am happy about this purchase. I got it for a great price and received so much in return! It is lightweight, slim, and the picture is awesome. I have an HD DVR through cable and the HD channels are amazing. Even non-Blue Ray DVD is awesome. Be sure and use HDMI connection to get the best picture. I was going to go for a smaller screen size but decided on this one after reading reviews and thinking about the price difference vs the years I would have the TV which made it so worth it. Also, I love Best Buy!!! I initially bought the TV at a higher price but was able to work it down through the price match guarantee. Best Buy is always friendly and no problems getting a credit for the difference. If you are one the fence you should buy this one!!!!!"

"I have had this TV for about 10 months now and paid a small fortune for it. The picture quality is great in HD and DVD but standard non HD is lacking to say the least. The sound from the TV sucks but I don't use it anyway so it's not an issue for me. The biggest problem I had was a ramdon blanking of the screen. Samsung denied any issues but when they sent the tech out he knew exactly what it was. He replaced the mother board with a new updated one that contained the latest firmware that supported some of the newer copy protect software. Overall it has been a good experience since the TV was fixed without any additional charge."

"This TV is pretty awesome. I bought it on sale so that really helped, but it does hold it's own. The motion blur from watching hidef cable is minimal compared to other LCD's. It ONLY happens with hidef cable and never with standard DVD, Blu-ray, or HD-DVD. This leads me to blame and blurring to cable. I do wonder if the problem could be fixed by cable boxes using HDMI instead of component video. Anyway, it isn't that big of a problem. BUY THIS TV!! Other models have to 120 GHz deal, whatever that is, which is suppose to help the clarity. You should always set at least 10-12ft away from a digital tv anyway, and at that distance you can't see any problem."

"We got rid of a 52 inch projection TV and had the 52 inch Samsung mounted on the wall. We could not believe how much space we saved. Gaming on the PS3 is beautiful! Playing Blu-Ray movies thru the TV is so awesome! The price was very reasonable compared to all the others we researched at the time! I am like a little kid in a candy store with this TV. Don't tell the boss but I have called in sick a couple of times to be able to stay home and play games and watch movies on it!"

What's great about it: Picture quality, picture quality, and picture quality
What's not so great: Sound is a little weak (most people run with surround sound)
"This TV is fabulous. Great picture, the tv itself also looks great. Plenty of HDMI inputs (3), and Samsung, along with Sony, is probably in a tie for the most respected/reliable provider of quality LCD tvs.
The only downsides are (1) the speakers are a little weak... But lets face it, most people using a 52'' tv are using some sort of surround sound anyway. The speakers will still get the job done if you opt not to. The other "weakness" is that the tv is a little bit "glare-y" for an LCD. It does reflect a little bit more than most, but still the picture is fantastic, so I give it a "Very highly recommend"."

"I DID ALOT OF RESEARCH ON TVS & WAS TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN THE PLASMA OR THE LCD. I FINALLY DECIDED TO GO WITH THIS MODEL & LET ME TELL YOU IT IS INCREDIBLE. THE PICTURE IS AMAZING. I READ ALOT OF REVIEWS & WAS NERVOUS ABOUT THE GLARE, THE REMOTE & THE AMOUNT OF PIXEL THAT IS PRESENT IN NON HD CHANNELS. SO FAR THE GLARE IS UNOTICABLE, THE REMOTE SEEMS TO BE FINE & THE NON HD CHANNELS ARE BETTER THEN MOST OF THE OTHER TVS I SAW AT THE STORE. THE PRICE HAS COME DOWN ALOT ON THIS TV & FOR THE PRICE THIS TV IS WORTH EVERY PENNY & MORE. I DO HAVE ONE COMPLAINT & IT IS NOT A BIG ONE BUT THE SPEAKERS ARE NOT THE BEST. "Bought this TV about 2 months ago, bets pic ever, awesome tv in every way, had some issues with some pixels, called Samsung customer service line, their rep was very attentive to our troubles and promised to have a tech out to our house in 3 days.
Sure enough as promised, tech came in and replaced defective module without any hassle, now i am back to having this great tv staring back at me in my living room as i enjoy this beautiful set.
Thanks Samsung for your great service....you rock !!!"

"Ok, I am a self admitted technology junkie. Call it an obsession but I love advancements in home entertainment. With that said, I felt it was time to part with my ol buddy HD Projection TV. I had upgraded to a Blu Ray Player and recognized that my TV just wasn't offering the full potential. I, like many reviewers did a multitude of research before committing to the Samsung 52. I have never been more pleased with a large purchase than I have been with this TV.
I wanted to share some thoughts with some of the less than positive reviews. To do so, I want to make some specific points.
The Picture is gorgeous. However, to take full advantage you must use an HDMI cable. Check your cable box, satellite provider, etc and make sure you have that output on your box. Without it you should either upgrade with your provider or make the next best connection available. Typically, Component cables. You will be satisfied with THAT picture but you
will be amazed at the HDMI cable. This is also true for your DVD or Blu Ray Player. Most newer models of dvd have the HDMI. What's nice is that the "info" button on the TV will show you the resolution "output". You will see a difference with the right cables.
I have read the sound issues and understand but don't necessarily agree with the negative comments. If the TV lacked anything it would be in this area. However, this is yet another issue with settings and preferences. The sound quality has many options tailored to your sound goals. Honestly, though, who wants to invest in a TV like this and then just rely on it's own sound output and not utilize a 5.1 or 7.1 stereo set up? I equate it to buying a DVR and never recording anything or buying an oven and never baking anything. I honestly don't think I have listened to my Television native sound output in 15 years. Remember, you can connect your stereo to your tv so when it's on, your stereo is on too.
Features seem to be endless. I was impressed with the default picture but you can play around with settings. I'd suggest for optimum picture, use a configuration dvd available at BB. Personally, I love the USB port. My mother-in-law stopped by with her flash drive of pictures and I popped it into the TV and showed her the pictures in seconds. It was amazing.
I read also that reviewers have complained about the glare. Much like my oven comment, it's all in the user. Don't place the TV opposite of a window. ANY TV would shine like a mirror. Remember this TV is a gloss black and looks awesome but position is everything. From Picture and Sound to Tilt to speaker location to viewing angles, etc.
In summary, if you want to invest in an awesome TV, don't short change yourself with sub standard peripheral equipment. Super Size those Fries!
Pop in a Blu Ray, watch a PPV movie, host a Sports Party and watch everyone, including yourself, drool at the picture quality."
