What's great about it: 2 inputs per a/v mode, sleek design, many user friendly features.
What's not so great: No A/V input/output easily accessable when wall-mounted. It does produce a great deal of heat.

What's great about it: Picture is clear and set is easy to use

"This is the set that was highly recommended by the sales staff and we were not disappointed. It was easy to set up and get connected to cable right out of the box. Set came with good instructions that were easy to follow. The packaging on this product was very innovative making it easy to unpack and set up."

What's great about it: Great picture, easy to mount on the wall, very nice to look at.
What's not so great: Glare, but this isnt news with a Plasma screen, I've managed to minimize it to a point it's not noticable.
"It's a wonderful TV! After having used a CRT non-HD TV for a long time, this was a mind-blowing upgrade for me. It took perhaps only 30 minutes to get it mounted to the wall and since then I cant get enough watching TV. Immediately went out and bought an HD-DVD player, started playing my XBOX 360 games in a way I've never experienced.
Very well worth the money."

What's great about it: excellent color. user friendly remote
What's not so great: no on screen info/no pip
"i bought this a week ago and still cant get any work done (cant get away from the set ). dispite what you might have heard about plasma television .. it is the absolute best tv you can buy.the colors are rich and deep better than life.. i researched this for 6 mons before buying the panasonic th-50px75u . my choices were samsung 50 inch 1080 and a pioneer 720 and the panasonic 720 all 50 inch.. you cannot tell the difference beween the sets.. panasonic is still the leader in plasma tv. the $ price difference is significant between the sets.. if you want a great plasma @ a good price go with the panasonic. .. the 720 panasonic upconverts sd to fit the pixels. the picture is good no matter what your source . i have directtv sat HD it is awesome in HD.."

Great Value in a 720p Plasma

"Panasonic has been making great Plasma TVs for years now, and this latest model is another great one for their reputation. The contrast level is much nicer than what you get on a similarly priced LCD, and the color depth is amazing. There's also a mode called Justify that will stretch standard Def shows to widescreen without squashing the people and making them look like fat trolls. It's not perfect, but it's much better than plain stretching to avoid the vertical black bars on standard def TV. The 720p this model has is basically medium HD resolution (480p, 720p, 1080p), but it's the highest level TV shows are broadcast (there are no 1080p national shows), so you only need 1080p if you are playing an XBOX360, Playstation 3, or HD player that can support it. After about 10 feet, the naked eye can't tell the difference in res anyway, so save some bones, forget the 1080p model and get a Hi Def TiVo to complete your TV nirvana instead. Hook this baby up to a Hi Def TiVo like the TiVo Series 3 or the TiVo HiDef and you're in hi def heaven."

"This TV is great, the picture quailty is awesome, I use it with my PS3 and i can see every detail on the screen. The remote and the menu is easy to use and very useful. I have had this tv for a couple of weeks now and have not had one problem or complaint, I would recommend this tv in a heartbeat."

"All in all no complaints. I have my PS3 hooked up and it looks amazing on this TV. I use HDMI and both the games and blu-ray movies look fantastic. The TV menu is easy to navigate and the back of the TV is well laid out and easy to access. The TV stand is sturdy and doesn't wobble. No problems with refresh rate or colors fading into each other. Recently upgraded from a EDTV to this HDTV and the difference is amazing. Highly Recommended."

"The Panasonic TH-50PX75U is good choice. I have owned many different tv's and probably will own a lot more. Here is why I went with this tv.
1. Price Best Priced 50" Plasma from a reputable co.
2. Plasma Burn in and half Life have been dramatically reduced from the 1st series of Plasma's.
3. The lousy standard signal from Comcast looks significantly better on a Plasma VS LCD.
4. Panasonic is one of the few brands out there that manufacture their own Plasma's Glass etc.
5. This tv has Pixel shift so burn in is no more of an issue than a crt tv would have.
6. Blacks are outstanding with a 10,000-1 contrast ratio.
7. No motion blur from sports. Newer very expensive LCD'S have reduced motion blur to a minimal but you pay dearly for this.
8. Standard DVD'S look excellent on plasma especially with an unconverted DVD player."

"I searched a long time for this TV... actually, I went back and forth about whether it was time to upgrade to an HDTV for about two years. When I was finally ready, I thought I was going to go with a smaller LCD with 1080p resolution. But after seeing so many strong reviews about this one, seeing it in the store compared to the Sharp, Westinghouse, and Toshiba 46-47" 1080p LCD's, and getting a great price for it, I figured I couldn't go wrong. The colors and blacks are so rich compared to the other TV's, and you really get a lot more TV for your money compared to the 1080p LCD's. Plus, I don't think my eyes are good enough to consistently tell the difference between 720p or 1080i and 1080p (and my TV is only about 6-8 ft away).
The only drawbacks: this one doesn't have the glare-reducing screen like the higher models (or as far as I can find out), but the glare is really not that noticeable in a moderately lit room. Also no VGA input, but otherwise plenty of inputs.
Overall, spend a little extra money to get this nice sized plasma over smaller LCD's and you'll be glad you did."

"I debated long and hard about buying this set or spending the extra money to step up to the Pioneer Elite. Quite honestly, I'm glad I did not spend the extra money. I have been very impressed with this Plasma so far. I bought it to replace my 58" Pioneer Elite rear projection and I think it will make a great replacement. The color and detail is great and I am pleasantly surprised by the overall quality.
The only complaint I have so far is that the TV makes an occasional popping noise when I'm watching a high-def source. The noise is intermittent so it's not that noticeable, but I do think I will eventually have to have it looked at."

"I'd picked out this tv a couple of months ago but decided to hold off on buying it until the 1080p's came out. After seeing the prices on the new technology, I decided this set would be just fine for me. (Plus BestBuy dropped the price and put it on sale.) The colors are beautiful and I'm amazed at the detail I can see even on older movies. When it was first set up in my living room I was a little worried about the reflection on the screen but when the picture is on, I don't notice it unless I really look for it. I'm very pleased!"

It produces a good deal of heat
Reflective glass limits physical placement (newer sets now have non reflective glass)
Not too easy to wall mount – takes 2 guys for sure
We bought ours in January 07. We have compared the picture to 1080p sets and it is hard to tell the difference because the 720p set does 1080i. We have yet to see any "smearing" with movement. My wife thought baseball was boring until HDTV. Now she is a diehard Red Sox fan and has withdrawal if she misses a game. It is truly like looking out of a window or being there. We have an Onkyo 720 home theater which enhances the experience.
Highly recommended"
