Great TV for the money   08/30/2007
By firemedic from B'ham Al

"Very pleased with this TV. I was set on a 1080p tv but this 720p is one on the best. I couldn't see much difference between the two while on display. For the money, you can't beat this TV."

More TV then you Pay For   08/24/2007
By Drew711 from Columbus, OH

"I just purchased the TV about 2 weeks ago. The picture is bright, vivid, and beautiful. I have my television channels delivered through the regional cable company. In HD format, it is like looking through a window. The digital picture is good, but the analog picture for the local channels is grainy and blurry (It reminds me of rabbit-ear days). But come 2009 when delivered media goes from analog to digital, this will be a non-event.
For external component delivered media, the picture is a dream. Content from the DVD without up-conversion (that will be the next purchase) is only slight less crisp the HDTV. Even the kid’s videos that have been through as much as 3 generations of kids on the 10 year old mono sound VCR is great (better then the analog content and almost on par with the digital).
This TV is not 1080p and if you set it next to a 1080p you will be able to tell the difference. However, since it is not setting next to a 1080p in my house, I thought I would save the $1000 to $2000 more that I would have needed to get a 1080p and the picture on this TV is beautiful by itself.
Bottom line for me –After saving up and doing research for 10 months, the value of this TV compared to similar competitor models makes it such that you are getting more then you pay for. And that is just plain good by me.

Great Plasma!   08/23/2007
By hdjunkie from Al.

"I've had this Tv for a month now and all I have to say is "wow!" It isn't 1080P but for the cost of upgrading to 1080P I can wait. To fix the pc connect problem just use a DVI to HDMI cable or converter. From there you might still need another monitor hoocked-up (since I didn't orgianally have a picture show-up on the plasma) then adjust the resolution to around 1280X720. The desktop should now be on your Tv. Your going to need to play with the resolution coming from your computer so the screen matches up on your Tv."

Great plasma for the money   08/18/2007
By Spazster from Tri - Cities WA

"Now that a 50" can be had for less then2k this is definately a great buy.

Pros - Good variety of connections
- Great Image Quality-Good Sound
- Nice cabinet and stand

Cons - NO PC Input ,NO PIP, No analouge channel conversion (although using the tv's tuner does get rid of the fuzziness but makes it grainy on analouge channels)

Comments - Don't expect this TV to help clarify basic cable channels, so don't be surprised how bad the picture is. Even through a digital cable box. The TV really starts to shine once into the digital channels and is wonderful on the HD channels.
Same goes for your vcr or dvd, old copies of each will look grainy and fuzzy. Newer remastered digital versions will look better. Remember, best picture quality will come from an HD source such as hd-dvd or blu-ray. Can't wait to get my xbox with the hd -dvd addon to test it out .
Also like mentioned in another review , becareful of burn in ( common trait among plasmas). Don't fall asleep and leave the tv on overnight on a channel that has a definative logo. Took a few days for it to finally go away.

Hope this helps to qualm the intial picture shock like i had when i hooked it up and ran through the channels in my cable box (Charter) and found that the digitial and hd channels are the only thing watchable really.

About Best Buy and Best Buy.com
Only other thing is ,best buy retail and best buy.com need to get it worked out that you can purchase online to pick up in store and still have your member discounts applied at time of pick-up. Right now you have to return the entire online purchase and then purchase in store, essentially becoming a paper trail but still an unecessary hassle.

Excellent Plasma screen   08/13/2007
By AVGuy from New York, NY

"Good features and inputs, black cabinet is an improvement over previous Panasonic models. Screen is a bit reflective so position it wisely in your room (not opposite a bright window). Remote control is good, although it really should have backlighting.
Aspect ratio controls are very good (flipping between widescreen/full, 4:3; horizontal stretch, and Justify is easy).
Sound quality is excellent.
Like all plasmas, this one has temporary burn-in if a high contrast still image is left on even for a minute. That is, the previous image remains like a ghost behind a new image. It is only temporary-- lasting only a couple of minutes, but it is annoying at first. Moving images are unaffected. This is common among plasmas. Is not an issue when watching TV or DVDs--mostly with gaming and/or looking at photos via the SD card slot.

Deep Black Levels and contrast!   08/12/2007
By Roboto79

"This TV is excellent in replicating a true deep black level. The contrast is one of the best I've seen. The only thing that I would have liked to see on it is a PC input for hooking up a Media Center PC. Otherwise, this is one of the best plasma TV's for the money!"
