Great TV after i got thru the few bugs it had. When i first got it the sound was out of sync but a quick call to westinghouse solved it. They were very prompt with service and we had it worked out very quick. I have also herd you can fix the sync issue by a firmware update. I had a issue with my 42" westinghouse and the firmware update fixed that.
I feel at this point every flat panel TV will have some sort of problem/downfall because the technolgy is still evolving. But everything works for me now and im happy.

What's great about it: Great picture in HD and for gaming.

Bought this TV as a set to be used in a game room and after seeing a great price for a 26" TV ($399 open box), I decided to give it a shot as it met the budget. Reading the reviews would prove that either y got a very good set or a poor one...few were rated just OK. Well, the past Best Buy reviews stated problems with sound and sync which we had none of. The humming noise stated in the reviews were not there and only with some programming was the contrast or backlighting needing any adjustments. The picture was very good in HD and poor in analog.
The main issue with our decision to return the set today was the white lines that occasionally popped up across the top or sides of the picture. If an adjustment were made to fill or oversize the image, it would go away BUT sacrificing sharpness. When this line was not present, the picture was exceptionally crisp in 1080i transmissions of Hi-Def.
If it were soley to be used for a monitor or a game monitor, it is a tremendous value. Thanks to the many reviewers who are honest with their remarks... we will continue to look at other options like Toshiba or LG which are less expensive than Sony in 26"-32" monitors.

We bought this unit for my RV last August. It has seen only limited use. At first I thought it was my imagination, but the audio voices didn't match the video. The problem has grown worse over time and doesn't matter what input is used (RF, Component, RCA etc) The longer the set is on, the more out of sync the problem I called Westinghouse to authorize a repair/return. Am now waiting for Best Buy to respond with instruction regarding when to return the product. I noticed other people report a similar problem. I'm hoping to exchange this for another brand since the Westinghouse representative said the problem is very common with this model and suggested that I negotiate with Best Buy for a different set.
What's great about it: Good Picture, inputs and price
What's not so great: Audio out of sync with picture on all inputs
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got this tv because of the very good price. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Nasty humming noise when you use the backlit feature to turn down for night viewing, component shows horrible interference, this occured on my xbox and my cablebox. Component input 2 shows less interference, but it just isn't working for me. I'm actually going to attempt to return this to the store and fork out a lil more money for a bigger brand name.
What's great about it: Good cost, nice inputs
What's not so great: No headphone jack, problem with my unit.

I have had to take 2 units back. As the TV warms up, the sound does not match up with the actor's lips. It is really annoying to watch. We have the extended warranty and this last time, they never even came out to look at the unit. They just authorized us to get a new TV. The picture is also blurry.
Don't buy this unit.

First TV had bad pixels. Second TV, the sound hums. POOR quality. It's going back. I'll spend the difference needed next time for quality!

Some peole complain about the sound (not enough bass, etc.) but this is not meant to be a home theatre set. Great for bedroom, game room, etc. Went looking to buy another and then saw this - couple sale price with a 10% coupon and it is a steal - HDTV looks great, regular stations are fine - very satisfied.
What's great about it: great for spare in bedroom, terrriffic picture
What's not so great: none in my opinion

Great TV for the price. I purchased when it was on sale. I purchased to use in my RV. Fits perfect on the TV shelf. I use with a satelite dish and HD receiver, the picture is as good or better than my Olivia and Mitsubishi TVs.
What's great about it: Great picture. Easy to use
What's not so great: Can't think of any

I have owned this TV for about 2 yrs. and it is really GREAT. The only bad thing is that the screen has frozen 3 times in this period, but I believe that this may be due to an issue with the cable TV and caused a slight issue with the TV. OVERALL it is a great TV.
What's great about it: Great clarity and sound
What's not so great: On some occasions the screen freezes
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Humming noise when you lower backlight ....I just turn the sound down to (0) and then turn audio off. I then use a nice sound system and ran it from my computer. The sound from the TV is not as good as the sound you can get from nice set of speakers. I had the room on the desk for this setup. I will add until I did this I too was going to take it back, But now I can live with it's problems and if there is ever a recall on this I will cash in and get it fixed. Wouldn't use it as a TV (It's To Small for a TV. must have 40"-up). Game system and Computer Monitor I would say yes (get one) TV?? Don't even stop to look at it in the store...lol.
What's great about it: Nice picture,price,and looks good. Doesn't take up much room on the desk for it's size as a computer monitor.
What's not so great: Humming noise when you lower backlight. You Can bypass it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This television actually does a pretty good job. I play my Xbox 360 on it and the picture and sound is perfect. When watching the cable or satelite channels without HD the picture is blurry. I have another T.V. Sony 40" Bravia HDTV LCD Widescreen and it does the same thing on the cable channels. When using this T.V. as a moitor it does an excellent job the quality of the picture is excellent. The T.V's auto detect setting for when you turn on a component like your gaming console or something it switches to it. You can also give your video sources special names likeYPbPr1 you can set it as what you want it to be from their options, (XBox 360, Dish, DirecTV, PS3, etc... The time and data on the /t.V. we're totally incorrect except for month and date, the year was set on 2000 and the time was off alot.
What's great about it: Quality, picture, soud
What's not so great: Humming noise when you lower backlight to 48 or lower.

I picked this tv because of the price not looking for it to be the best but better than it was.
After three hours of use the picture started showing a clear looking space at the top, then the bottom then on the right side.
I changed the feeds and other things to make sure that was not the trouble.
I will return this one and try another brand after reading other reviews here.

I just returned this TV set which I bought less than a week ago. Like the set of many others in this list of customer reviews the backlight on mine malfunctioned. When you do not watch the TV with the backlight on maximum [get your sunglasses out] it hums you right into a state of madness. When you call Westinghouse technical support, they act like it's the first time they have heard of this problem. DO NOT BUY THIS SET IF YOU WANT TO SPARE YOURSELF THE HASSLE OF HAVING TO PUT IT ALL BACK INTO ITS BOX TO RETURN IT. Perhaps it has all been a bad dream where I bought a refrigerator and woke up to a TV set in my room. That Freddie Krugger...
What's great about it: Cannot think of any!
What's not so great: Picture and Sound

Just like some other people say the backlight has o be all the way up or you hear the buzz noise. Other then that, it's a great TV. I really only use it for my Xbox 360 with a VGA hook up, picture quality is great! For the price, it's a great first HD TV.
What's great about it: Good picture, Great sound, works great w/360
What's not so great: Backlight all the way up.

Hmm.. After reading all the other reviews, I thought I'd offer my opinion.
The price attracted me to this tv at first. I use it for Satellite TV, a 26" pc monitor and for my dvd player. Everything is working nicely for me. I don't have any of the other problems reported here. It automatically switches when it senses a new video source when I hit the mouse. No sound problems. Very good picture quality.
For about $450, I got myself a 26 lcd pc monitor and hdtv in one compact unit. It freed up a lot of space in my very small bedroom.
Today I decided to upgrade the satellite service to HD also.
I would gladly buy another or a bigger tv for my living room.

this is a very nice product. it has tons of inputs to hook playstation 3, xbox 360, dvd, etc. the only thing i dont like about it is that if you dont have hd programming the picture is blurry on some channels. another cool feature it has is if you have digital cable, when you scan your channels in to the tv it automatically picks up all the channels you would have on a cable box. so there for you dont need the box except for one room in your house. so overall i would say it is a good product.
What's great about it: good picture, good sound, lots of inputs, perfect for my PS3, also it is ready for digital broadcasts in 2009
What's not so great: picture could be better. i dont have hd programing though so that probably why

When we first turned this TV on [only a few days ago] we were amazed! The color was great, the picture was clear--then, it froze, we thought oh a little glitch, then it happened again, and again, and again... We called Best Buy and they suggested we reset it by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Afterwards, that seemed to work. However, it took about 5 minutes before it started to freeze again. It really upset me when it happened during a crucial moment of a program I was watching! This "glitch" is too annoying, we are returning this TV--will do more research before we purchase another one.
What's great about it: Great color, clarity and easy to setup
What's not so great: frequent freezing screen, humming noise

My x-mas present to myself was a new man-space in the attic for gaming and watching sports. I didn't want to spend too much money, so I originally purchased the Westinghouse 26' that was on sale for much less than the other 26' LCD tvs. The picture quality of this set was horrific and after much tweaking I gave-up and returned it back to the store. I have a larger Bravia in the living room that I'm quite happy with so I decided to go with its smaller cousin. Yes, that set was about 50% more expensive than the Westinghouse but the difference in quality is worth every penny.

Overall, this is a great TV. The picture is wonderfull, sound is good. The only problem I have had is the picture ratio is not quite right. The watching letterbox movies (or TV) there is a white line at the top and right side of the picture. And unless I zoom to fill the screen, the picture only uses about 1/2 the screens full size. I can see it just fine but there is a bi black border all the way around the picture. (this only hapens when watching DVDs. I have heard that sony has compatibility problems with alot of other devices, maybe this is one of them.) But in all honesty, this is TV is just as good as many of the higher priced ones. I do alot of research with electronics and most people agree, you can't beat this price. I WILL be buying 2 more for my other bedrooms. I highly recomend this product to everyone.
What's great about it: Great picture, lots of input options
What's not so great: aspect ratio problems
