What's great about it: great picture, easy remote
What's not so great: sometimes picture doesn't fit screen on upper edge
"I have to say I was reluctant to buy a Westinghouse TV. Certainly not even on my list of choices but this was an out of box and the price was excellent. Actually the set was on sale that week and that was a great price also but this was better. It was really easy to set up, get great HDTV over the air and I love the ease of the DVD. Once in a while a picture seems to not fit exactly to the edge but if you change the ratio it is fine. I love the ease of changing ratio compared to others I have. The remote is particularly easy. Speakers are quite powerful. Wish it was Energy Star rated as it is always "on" so to speak. Looks great in bedroom. There are very few LCD this size with DVD. I have no complaints so far."

What's great about it: Great picture, easy to use menus
What's not so great: Picture occasionally a little shaky on higher speed display
"Great purchase for a pc/tv.. Convienient to switch from my pc to tv. Great picture, easy to use remote, fast and easy switch over to check my pc to tv to keep track of a ball game. Love the front loading dvd player."

"I purchased this TV and what I got was heaven. Best buy= HD done right. I recommend this product to anyone in its path. I use my HD TV for my Xbox 360 and it's amazing. It is the ultimate inspiration for Halo 3. On the Bungie.net forums, I have promoted Bestbuy.com TV's as well as Westinghouse. Go Halo 3!

"What we like:
1. Remote offers a flashback button to flip back and forth two channels.
2. When starting for the first time, the set detects analog and digital channels that are connected to the input so channel surfing is very quick.
3. HD comes in beautiful!
4. Front loaded DVD
What we do not like:
Nothing. Very satifisfied with Westinghouse. I thought they only made lightbulbs but am very impressed for future purchases."

"The TV was very easy to setup right out of the box. The picture was very good in HD. I did not have a HD cable/satellite connection just open air local HD signals so the signal was sometimes interrupted due to weather. The sound coming out of the TV is adequate but if you have a home theater system, this is not a problem. For the price of the product, you get good a good value."

Some Annoyances

"The picture was great and sound was good but some things were too annoying to keep this set. If the following does not bother you, I would recommend considering this TV.
I use the closed caption all of the time and it does not stay in the last setting. Each time I turn the TV off I have to use the remote and change the setting to turn on the closed caption. Also the sleep timer is in the menu system and not on the remote. You have to navigate through the menu which would not be too bad, but every time you turn off the TV it forgets the path. My last TV remembered the path so all you had to do is press the menu button a few times to set the sleep timer. It also has blue and not black borders around the picture when the picture is not filling the screen."

great picture but some problems

"I got this television on sale for $499 and for the price I could not pass it up. With a cheap antenna I can get crysatal clear HDTV from 8 channels in my area (cleveland ohio suburb). The instructions were easy to understand and simple to use and mount on the wall.
The picture is great, the DVD player good and I only have a few annoyances with the unit.
1-I use the closed caption all of the time and it does not stay in the default. Each time I turn the TV off I have to use the remote and change the setting to turn on the closed caption. I called customer service for this and there is no way to make the closed caption a default.
2- If you use the closed caption activation for when the mute button in turned on. The "mute" logo that shows on the screen covers about 1/3 of the lower bar of the television and you can not read the closed captions. I contacted customer service and there is no way to change the placement of the mute on the screen.
3- I have experienced the "freeze" screen too. It happens about once a week and I have to unplug it from the wall to make it unfreeze. I notice that it usually happens in the first 15 minutes of operation. I am glad that I bought the 4 year warranty at best buy with this unit because I am fearful that this problem will get worse. I have not contacted the customer service center about it but I think I will because it looks like a lot of people are having the same problem.
Overall I am amazed that I was able to afford an HDTV LCD with DVD player for this amazing price. I thought a unit like this would be out of my price range.
I love the screen size format where it lets me select how much of the screen is filled up with the picture and even lets me oversize the image.
There are television preset color styles entered in the video settings and the SPORTS setting is fantastic when watching football. The image on baseball is so clear that I can see the grass stripes on the field.
The built in speakers are good too. Crisp sound.
For the cost conscious person that wants a good picture at a decent price I would recommend this unit -IF they buy the extended warranty in case the screen freeze becomes an issue."

"I have been having the same issue as the first guy. Mine likes to freeze up for no reason. It does it almost everyday. Im debating on returning it. Everything else is pretty good. The picture is nice."

"After reading GMoney's review, I decided to post my own. I personally have 4 of these televisions. I have not had the experience that GMoney had with his two but I did have one problem. After purchase, I plugged in one of the televisions and the receiver did not work. I was unable to get a picture. I returned it to Best Buy, they replaced it, and all four of the televisions have worked great. I will add that the television has an AWESOME picture. I would recommend this television to anyone. It is versatile with multiple plug-ins and offers true television enjoyment. I would put this on my list of "Best Buy Positive Purchases""

TV Freezes up

"This is a GREAT TV with one exception, twice in the first week of having this TV it froze up so that the only thing I could do was unplug it and plug it back in. I exchanged that TV for the same model and i have had it for a week and it has froze up twice so far! Other than that this is a Awsome TV very good picture! I would have given it 5 stars if it didnt have the freezing problem. Also very many types of connections!"
