What's great about it: Picture quality, easy set up, user friendly menu
What's not so great: Hanging on the wall (as with any wall hung flat panel tv) too many cords
I have had this set for 2 months now and can say it is the right size for a bedroom. The sleep timer and TV timer are nice to go to sleep with and wake up to in the morning. The picture quality is very nice as is the sound quality. The menu is very user friendly as is the remote. Would recommend this TV to anyone needing a second TV fit for a bedroom.

What's great about it: Great Picture Dvd works well nice tv
What's not so great: found none so far
got this tv for 499.00 had it about a month have not had any problems with it what so ever i love it but will keep my eye on it i do have 4 year warranty

What's great about it: Good Price / Picture OK
What's not so great: Freezes Up.
Purchased this from Best Buy about 2 weeks ago. Felt it was a good price.
Set up was easy. Picture is good.
AS OTHERS HAVE MENTIONED THIS THING FREEZES UP, USUALLY DAILY, SOMETIMES MORE OFTEN!
In my opinion this is not satisfactory and the unit will be returned this week-end. I'm concerned about exchanging for another from the store as it will probably have the same problem!
I'm wondering how Westinghouse and Best Buy continue to sell this model without addressing this problem?

What's great about it: Flexible setup, good picture
What's not so great: No DVd transport controls on set
My mother-in-law just bought this while it was on sale for $499 - a very good price for a 26" HDTV with a DVD player included.
It did a great job of scanning the cable system and grabbing all the channels - almost 470 in all!!
However, I think it will now take us several weeks to catalog all the channels, add a user-defined label, and determine which ones become "Favorites".
The stetup was straighforward and fairly easy, just follow the on-screen prompts. The SD picture looks pretty good, the HD picture is excellent, and the DVD picture is quite good, too. The DVD picture is not quite as good as HD, but decidedly better than the SD picture.
I think we got a very good value for the money, time will tell if that impression is true...

What's great about it: Nice form factor
What's not so great: Screen did not work; DVD stuck in unit
This will be a short review, because I did not get to use the product other than unpack it, plug it in, stick in a DVD and then have nothing work. The screen did not turn on at all, and the DVD would not eject. Luckily, the stellar geek squad staff managed to extract the DVD with minimal scratches. To the credit of Best Buy, I was able to return the unit the same day for a full refund. I exchanged the unit for a more expensive LG model without the DVD combo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: price, dvd front load, easy set up
What's not so great: video settings
there is a green tint on most of the channels. i have tried the default video settings and tried setting them on my own. can some one recommend the best video settings and viewing mode(calm, user, etc)

This tv is great for the price. The picture on some channels even with cable is not so great. Overall I would reccommend this set.

What's great about it: Good Picture Quality and Great Sound
What's not so great: When you change the channel it's difficult to see channel selection
We think this television is worth the money. The picture and sound is Quality number one.
When you change the channel the selection is in red which makes it difficult to view what channel you are on, but other than that I don't regret making this purchase.
If you're in the market for a TV/DVD combo this is a safe purchase.

What's great about it: front loading DVD
What's not so great: Picture Freezes constantly
The first time we turned it on after we set it up the picture froze. It was ok for a few days after that and then it started to do it again and became more frequent. Westinghouse gave me the same nonsense about that they gave another reviewer "plugging it into a different outlet power surge etc". I tried it made no difference. So after a month I returned it and swapped it out for another. Had the same problem that time too. Took it back and they said I couldnt swap it again until it was checked out by service department. A month later they are going to let me swap it again. Hopefully this will be a slightly newer manufacture date and the problem will have been fixed. We'll see but, I sure which I'd have gotten a Magnavox.

What's great about it: Good price, front-loading DVD
What's not so great: No DVD counter; no headphone jack
After looking at a lot of combo TV/DVD players, I decided this was the best tradeoff of price and quality. It wasn't the best picture I looked at, but it was good enough, and well-priced.
But I may have to return it because it has no DVD position counter! I couldn't figure this out at the store because they never have the remote control handy, but just assumed it would have one... but alas not! I can't believe they would leave out such a basic feature. I didn't expect it to have an LCD display on the front, but they could have done an on-screen display. The on-screen menus are otherwise pretty fancy.
Other drawbacks that are not as much of a dealbreaker:
- No headphone jack
- Subtitle text looks pretty bad
- When you're in FF/RW and press play to go back to normal speed, it pauses! (The button is combined pause/play, but this seems an odd choice for coming out of FF/RW) You have to press the button twice to continue playing.

What's great about it: Built in DVD/Great size/Price to Quality comparisons

Bought this before the Holidays.
Great picture, perfect size for bedroom and terrific quality/pricing compared to buying seperate TV and DVD player. Currently use straight cable with no box and works just fine. Lower grade standard channels are typical quality as any other TV. Higher end channels are excellent picture quality.
I read all reviews from major purchases such as this. Many previous reviews stated bad marks for various things. After 2+ months of nightly use there has not been one complaint. When time to upgrade downstairs TV I would consider another Westinghouse.

What's great about it: nice crisp picture
What's not so great: locks up constantly
I was quite happy to start with, as this tv gave me a beautiful picture, but almost immediately it started to lock up. About 5 times the first day, several times a day thereafter. I would have to unplug the set and plug it back in before I could do anything--change the channel, adjust the volume, even turn it off and on. Then it got to a point where I would turn it on and it would not accept any of the digital channels until it was unplugged and then plugged back in.
To be fair, I don't know if this is a problem on cable systems or only on over the air/antenna systems, or if I just got a lemon. If you decide to buy this--beware!

Bought this for my elderly parents. We could not get the closed captioning to stay on (power off...on and no CC) Wrote Westinghouse to see if all units do this and they stated:

If you simply want to watch non-HD network channels this TV is not for you. The picture quality was horrible. My CRT looked much better than this TV.
I took it back the very next day and bought the Sony Bravia.

I am changing my recommendation to NO for the following reason. I sort of had to cheat to get back on to add something to my previous review. I got the picture freeze 32days after I bought it. I should have waited to review, I guess. I unplugged it as I read to do and it was OK after I plugged it back in. Glad to see read there is an easier way. I called Westinghouse as this apparantly seems to be a problem with this model. They would not admit it was a problem but said it was caused by a power surge and their solution was that I use an extension cord to another plug off that circuit. I told them they were nuts as I was not about to trip over an extension cord running thru my home waiting for it to happen plus if I had a power surge it would probably be all over the house. So they said to get a surge protector. This is obviously a problem with their set and they will not admit it as other brands don't do this. I do have the BB warranty and it has been noted by BB so will call them if it happens on a regular basis. Other than this it is a great TV and DVD player and the price was good. Unfortunately there is not alot of selection for combo's with this size screen but maybe they better stick to refridgerators.

Got this set for the bedroom about two months ago and, not expecting much from what I consider an off brand, have been quite pleased with the purchase. With digital cable connection (no cable box) we still get networks in HD as well as alternate digital signals for local affiliates (great for news and other programs not in HD) which look worlds better than the standard broadcast signals.
We also have experienced occasional "freezing". It's a bit frustrating, but no need to unplug set. Just hold down power button (on the set, not the remote) for 5-10 seconds and the set turns off and can be turned back on again with no problem.
Overall, a great purchase for digital TV on a budget and the built-in DVD really saves space and cable mess.

What's great about it: A+ quality, picture, size, many options & features

I've had this TV in my bedroom for 6wks now. It is user friendly & gives a very crisp, beautiful picture. Having the DVD player built-in is nice, simple because of saving space, time, & wireless mess that comes with connecting seperate components. I can also listen to a CD & get good sound quality. One of my favorite features, that was a suprise to me, is the "audio only". You can listen to a music channel w/out the bright picture/video, which is nice if one needs help relaxing to fall asleep. I could name many, many, more since this TV/DVD combo offers endless options and possibilities. This unit offers exceptional quality for the price paid & I highly recommend!
