Had 2, 1 had a lense to jam, 1 had the screen not come on. Had less than 6 months cost of repair from Nikon made replacing the logical choice. Second time the logical choice is another company.
What's great about it: Small easy to carry
What's not so great: No support from Nikon

I bought this camera almost a year ago, and it works great. It's easy to use for anyone. The only complaint I would have is that if you don't use flash, sometimes the pictures come out a little blurry. It helped when I used "Party/Indoor" on scene mode, but even then it was still a little blurry.

I just purchased this camera Friday, 2/15. I have no regrets thus far. The only complaint I can think of is there is so much material to cover just to use the camera to its full potential. This coming wkend I should have the whole manual read and then there shouldn't be any complaints at all. Love this camera and been playing with the self-timer all week!
What's great about it: Great indoor exposure
What's not so great: Very Technical

Used for a few months. I turned the camera on, the lens came out part way and got stuck.
The display showed 'lens error'.
Did some research on the Inet and this is apparantly a common problem with this type of camera that Nikon chooses to ignore.

Purchased this camera for my 12 year old daughter. She had no problems with setting it up right out of the box. It was easy for her to use and understand the instructions booklet.
What's great about it: Easy to use, small size camera
What's not so great: Not haveing a viewfinder also.

ok....i got this camera for christmas righth. So today i was taking pictures and all of a sudden it said on my screen lense broken and i looked at the lens and everything was fine. So then i call the company and told them the problem and they said that i have to buy a nw camera. I have to spend 100 dollers for somehting that i just had for 3 months.

This little camera goes everywhere with me. It fits nicely in my pocket. No bulky case to lug around. It takes portrates as well as nature scenes excellent. I would recommed this camera to everyone.

I had a coolpix 3.0 and it was stolen so when I went to purchase a new camera I decided to go with the coolpix again because of the great pictures it took. It is small and very easy to handle. The great thing about this camera is that it takes alkaline and lithium batteries. So if your lithium batteries happen to die out, you can run out and use alkaline as a backup. The only thing I dont like is that it is a little slow once you take the shot but it is something I can deal with. Overall, I like this camera.

What's not so great: A little slow between pictures

I purchased this camera for my daughter. She had been borrowing my camera, (also a Nikon) but I couldn't part with it for 4 months while she studied abroad.
The pictures that she has put online are amazing. Views from the top of mountains are crisp and incredible.
This camera is easy to use for a beginner, yet full of options for those of us who like to experiment. Nikon quality at an affordable price.

I bought this camera because I had heard that Nikon was a good brand in photo cameras, however, this camera was disappointing. Indoor and low-light (night, etc.) pictures look bad, always blurred, the flash destroys all the pictures, there is no way to regulate the flash, it does not work. And it is very slow to process the pictures. Videos and outdoor pictures look good though.
What's great about it: cheap, small, good design
What's not so great: bad quality of pictures, slow

My nephew from Texas gave this camera (as well as some accessories for it), to me this past Christmas. I am a graphic designer, and am pretty specific about things like this............ok, I'm PICKEY!!!
After giving him a precise list of what I wanted in a small digital camera...stuff like: it should be very small, high quality, grab and go for vacations, parties, concerts, something I could pull out, aim and shoot and end up with a fantastic photo capable of being printed and enlarged with as little effort as possible on my end. Well, there ya go folks.....PICK this one! (He bought it for me in Texas, and I picked it up at Best Buy near my house in Atlanta...)

for the price I think this is a good camea. the only con I have come across so far is the delay between pushing the button to take a picture and it actually taking the picture. Having a 2 month old baby I think this delay could make us miss out on some of those spur of the moment photos.
What's great about it: takes good quality photos, easy to use
What's not so great: there is a delay in actually taking the picture

I bought this camera because I was tired of borrowing my girlfriends and I'm sure she was tired of me borrowing it too ;-)
Right out of the box the camera was simple and easy to use, my husband loaded the batteries and slipped in the memory card (I purchased the 2gb - over 1000 pics) and bam! we started taking silly pictures for no reason at all.
I would definately recommend this camera to anyone and the Nikon name is a well known name so that was another plus.
Buy it, enjoy it and happy picture taking!
I didn't rate this product as a 4star yet because I didn't print any pictures but once I do, I will update my rating.

This is a great starter/semi-pro camera. Got this for my sister in law for her birthday. Easy to use out of the box, great feel in the hands. For all hand sizes!! Battery drop in got Nokia starter package also came with chager, extra set of battery, case w/strap.

This is the my Best Purchase Ever made! The picture is great, the size is awsome, I JUST ♥ IT!!! I also got a memory card and case; that makes it better! This is my first camera and I can already see it will be great! If you just want a basic, easy to use camera, this is the one for you!

I'm pretty excited about this Nikon. I've read all 50 or so reviews on this camera so I'll address some things I've read. I like Nikon because their a company that specializes in photography, so their products are quality. The camera is 6 megapixels which is really good quality, I mean anymore megapixels and every picture is going be like 4 or 5mb big. I really like all the different scenes and settings and you'll learn to quickly swap to whatever you want when your taking pictures. It doesn't have a viewfinder, but it if did then the camera would have a smaller screen, so I'm glad it doesn't.
When I was looking for digital cameras I was really worried about shutter lag, but I learned that all point and shoot cameras have some shutter lag. Before I found this I was really interested in the Casio Exilim camera, but I read some reviews that turned me away from it. One of my friends that has that camera and told me its not worth it. So, this was the next thing on my list and I'm completely satisfied with it. The batteries that come with it last a pretty long time. I've heard about cameras that eat batteries within like 5 or 10 minutes which is crazy, but this L11 is fine. I'm ordering some rechargeable batteries which I think is definitely a good investment. The one other thing you should know about this camera is that if you want to record in 640x480 video at 30 frames per second (tv quality) you need to have a SD card that writes over 10MB a second. Only SD cards that fall under that are ones with 133x speed. Another thing you should be aware of is that I've read a review or two about people who have had this camera for about half a year and their lens doesn't work anymore and it ended up costing more then the camera was worth. I don't remember if they mentioned dropping it or not, but just to be safe don't drop this camera because it seems to be fragile.
Now that you know the positives and the negatives about this camera you can judge whether its good enough for you. Its small enough to put in a pocket and forget about it. It's a perfect price, and has good quality pictures. Good luck shopping!

I bought this camera right after Christmas and then took it on a missions trip. It is absolutely great! It will hold 1321 pictures and over 3 1/2 hours of video on a 2GB card! The only thing is I would suggest buying rechargeable batteries because regular alkaline don't last very long. It has so many scene modes and the snow mode is great! This was definitely the Best Buy I have ever made. If you are a beginner and looking for a camera, this is the one for you!
What's great about it: Clear pics, awesome video, much more
What's not so great: uses batteries kind of fast

This is an awesome first camera. For the price, you can't go wrong. With the addition of a 1 GB memory card and some rechargeable AA batteries, you'll be set for hundreds of pictures. The video is great. The quality isn't perfect but the duration is unlimited as long as there is space on your memory. It does take a second to snap your pictures but that is the only down side.
What's great about it: Great price, good quality, video with sound

I've used a lot of digital cameras at work ( I'm talking about Hasselblads with a digital back... serious cameras), but for home, it does just what I need. I have to say, I wish it could be faster after I hit the hit button, but the quality is always good. And, with consumer digital cameras... there's usually a wait time.
Honestly, though, just keep it on auto for 99% of your photos. But, for the price... it's a good digital camera. I would definetly recommed it for the first timer, or for someone looking for a good cheap digital camera. The megapixel size is okay. I don't think i'm ever going to need to blow up my photos more than 10". But if you do, then look for a better camera. I give it 4 stars because of the price. If it was any more, then I would give it a 3.
