What's great about it: This device solved the problem of "Remote Start Failures" on my '06 F-350 6.0 Diesel .
What's not so great: The device is more exposed within the engine compartment than i would have preferred.
This device was installed in less than 30 minutes by Jon at Best Buy of Ocala, Florida. Jon suggested the device as a solution for start-up failures that are commonly experienced on the Viper Security alarm system with the remote start feature when installed on certain Ford diesel-powered trucks. It appears that the basic remote start electronics does not cause the engine to crank long enough to actually start up once the glow plug heat cycle has been completed. Now the engine starts every time on the first crank cycle instead of attempting as many as three cranking cycles before timing out. Prior to installing this control device, many times even with three attempted crank cycles, the engine would fail to start. This device is a "Must Have" add-on in the case of many diesel powered vehicles with this particular alarm/remote-start system.
I would recommend this to a friend!
