Rockforad Fosgate in my book has always delivered a great product. When you stand them against the competition. However, some of their products don't quite meet the standards i've known them by. I bought my first subs as one of their dual 300watt package and they sounded much better than i would've thought. Now, taking this amp and powering it with a top of the line sub, it just does not live up to my Rockford standards. I would go with a different brand when you are working with this much power.
What's great about it: produces great sound when matched with accurate subs
What's not so great: does not quite deliver what it states.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

ok to start every thing off most people who know a thing or two knows rockford fosagte under rates there amps all these unsatified custumers are running this amp at 4 ohms 2 ohm if your system or subs arent running at 1 ohm it doesnt unlock the potetional which is a rated 1,000 constant power 3,000 watts max and all rockford amps are benched when you buy it you get a birth sheet and you will find they do more then they say like they say 1000 rms but its really 1600 or 1500 my opion its a excalent amp
What's great about it: even if its pricy this amp is well worth it
What's not so great: could include a bass nob

This amp is awful for 3 reasons
1) 700 bucks for 500 watts rms
2) not 1 ohm stable
3) Nowhere near enough power to push a real sub, not even enough for my single 12"

I am pushing two 12" Infinity Kappa DVQ subwoofers running at 1 ohm. This is the only amp Best Buy sells that will push two dual voice coil subwoofers (Alpine Type R, Rockford P3) adequately. If you are pushing single voice coil subs, or any single sub, I would recommend another amp. I only have the gain at half way, and it pushes these subs (400 rms) to the limit. Although the amp is very expensive, if you are planning on pushing two dual voice coil subwoofers rated at 300rms or more, I wouldn't buy any other amp that Best Buy has to offer. If you plan on running your system at 2 or 4 ohms, I would recommend the Alpine MRP-M1000.
What's great about it: Tremendous power at 1 ohm
What's not so great: Expensive, not very powerful at anything other than 1 ohm

This is hands down the best amplifier that bestbuy sells. Pair it with the P3s or alpine type R's and be sure to wire at 1 ohm, and your system will be incredibly loud. This is even a little underrated, the birthsheet says 1410w.
What's great about it: Lots of Power
What's not so great: Price?

This is the second rockford fosgate amp I've had and I have no regrets Returning to the Brand.I have this thing running 1 RF T1 12" Sub @ 2ohms and it sounds loud,deep and accurate.It doesn't overheat or cut off, it's greatly underrated and it's pretty easy to install. Those that complain about the price ..... WELL, you get what you pay for....... need I say more!
What's great about it: Delicious deep bass
What's not so great: Some would say the Price.

I have 2 Alpine R 12 wired @ 2 ohms. WOW. This is my first system ever and I get compliments all the time. I'd say too much bump for everyday use. I'd definatley recomend upgrading power source to 2 car batteries paralleled together. I have pouded for 2 hours solid for a year now and still works like new. (I have a long drive to work.)
What's great about it: Delivers constant solid power to any real sub that can handle it .
What's not so great: Sucks to much power from stock vehicles power source.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was a little scared about spending 650 dollar on just an amp...but it was really worth every penny! i am very happy with the results! i hooked it up with two alpine type R's and it sounds amazing! so clean and so powerful, you can hear me a mile away no joke. if you are going to spend money on a new sound system, go all out and get this amp with the two alpine type R's and you will be very happy with it i promise

Very powerful amp, I am running 2 Kicker solo baric S12L5's. Both are 600 rms each. I have it running at 1 ohm stable and have had no problems. It said it was tested at 1300+ watts. The amp has yet to overheat in my trunk after hours of playing. One con is the screws to tighten down the power and ground wires, Ive already had to return one amp because the screw broke off and I could not tighten the wires down. Still a very nice amp, price is a little steep.
What's great about it: Small with alot of kick, pushes 2 12's with ease.
What's not so great: Wire input screws.
I would recommend this to a friend!

by the time your done buying subs that are powerful enoughfor the amp, your at a thousand dollars just for some thump.. cheaper stuff will hit just as hard.. forexample, 2 15" kickers with a kenwood 9104d amp..i paid 560 for the system and it is louder than the Rockford with 2 12's, unless there T2's. bottom line, too much money.
What's great about it: very powerful, wont overheat, kinda smallish
What's not so great: 600 dollars, holy crapt!

This amp is amazing, I own a pair of Type R 10" sub's and was looking around for a strong amp that will be able to produce a lot of power at 2 ohms.... I found it with this Rockford fosgate 1000 watt amp, it truly is one of the most hard hitting amps I have ever owned... It has produced a strong deep BASS for me for long periods of driving time since I have owned it.... It has NEVER over heated and has produce clean hard thumping BASS... This is a great amp that I highly recommend people to purchase if they want to have people feel them coming down the street instead of just hear them....
What's great about it: The amount of power it produces, when running at 2 ohms or 1 ohm... Wow it is amazing, it does not over heat at all.
What's not so great: NONE, worth every penny.....

I bought this amp the first week it came out and fell in love with it. I have it powering two 12 inch alpine type r's and it is no joke. This is by far the best amp I've ever own.
What's great about it: Compact, doesn't overheat, POWERFULL

Ive had this amp for at least six months now and its been good to me. no problems with it yet and it give me all the power i need. the best part about it is the small size compared to the old fosgate amps. the new design of the amp is also very appealing and goes good with any interior

this is one of the best amps o nthe market if you are running a two 12" setup go for these any thing else and ou want to go with kenwood

this amp is decent i mean can find better and more power for cheaper that is for sure...but at least it can get over 1000 watts at 1 ohm...excellent for the customer who prefers a good sounding system...not loud enough for me tho
