What's great about it: Handles longs hours of usage
What's not so great: N/A

"This monitor is great for multi-tasking in an office or home setting. If you need a lot of desktop space for applications, this is a best buy. I can run a spreadsheet or document, read email, and update web pages simultaneously without stacking windows. I have had this monitor for over year and used it for up to 15 hours a day. Still shows no sign of wear and colors are vivid. This monitor is also very easy on your eyes if you need to work on it for hours at a time."

"this was my frist flat screen monitor. i was upgrading from the stock montior i got 5 years ago. i wanted to go big or not get one at all and this was a great find! i was happy with the price and i was even happer with how good it looks on my desk! i can be on the internet on one side of the screen (like now as i type the review) and on the other side i can be on aim or itunes, its that big! definetly a great product and i would recomend it to anyone who wants a 22''"

"Bought it brand new in 10/3/2007 to replace the original CRT monitor which died after 4 years of constant use. On 8/15/2008 -- 10.4 months after I bought it -- this Westinghouse monitor stopped working. At first I thought something was wrong with the CPU. I couldn't believe an LCD monitor would fail before its warranty period. But I took it to the Geek Squad @ BestBuy and they confirmed my worst fear: the back-lit bulb stopped working. Fortuneately, the repair is free because its still under warranty, but I had to pay $36 for shipping & handling. But one cannot put a dollar amount on the frustration and anguish of not having to use my computer for weeks because I don't have a monitor. I wil NOT buy a Westinghouse again -- they're NOT reliable."

"A great find at bb for 249 on sale. Was impressed with the Sugar Land store not only was the add item in stock but it was nicely displayed.
Set up was very easy and unit very responsive to games as well as text, Great product great find

What's great about it: Sharp clear text, better than more expensive brands
What's not so great: none that I can find

"I tried a lot of 22 inch wide monitors to find one with good text quality and this one was the best regardless of price. I tried value brands and big name brands to find one with sharp text. That was my main criteria. This W'house beat all the others and was cheaper than many of them. I use this with two windows open side by side and wanted crystal clear text without showing too much brilliance. By that I mean I wanted to be able to set the brightness level that would not drown out letter definition and at that same time not appear darkened. This one did that. Make no mistake, this monitor will get as bright and brilliant as any of them will. If this one breaks I will get this model again. If I need another monitor Westinghouse will be at the top of my review list. It may not be the best gamer graphics monitor, but I am not a gamer. I am very happy with video quality on this monitor, but I will guess there are better ones out there for this purpose( for more money of course). Bottom line, great monitor with or without regard for the price. One thing I have learned about LCD whether you are looking for a TV or a computer monitor, look at many and get the one that looks good to you personally."

Great Monitor 04/02/2008

What's great about it: size, no glare screen, cost,
What's not so great: no plugins for xbox 360 cables

"This monitor is great!!! It's a big upgrade form my 15" laptop screen. This is very bright! I find my self setting the brightness on 50% and it still is bright. I bought it on sale for $229. I browsed over 19" monitors for about a month cause they were barely over $220. I was going to buy a 19" from Samsung or LG, but then i found this one on sale and bought it. It works great for surfing the internet cause i barely need to use the scroll. I wish i could play my xbox on it to see how the HD works but there are no spots for the video cables. The only problem i have is that the newer models just came out."

Don't doubt the performance! 03/02/2008

What's great about it: Brightness of picture, outstanding value for the price!
What's not so great: Stand doesn't adjust (minor issue... read on).

"While there are other LCD monitors out there that sure impress (Samsung, HP, LG, among them), you will not be disappointed with the performance of this one. And, I'm using the less-than-ideal VGA port connection.

Recently found this model for the great price of $229! Now, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better deal for a monitor featuring 5ms response time, 700:1 contrast ratio & the brightness of this product at the 22-inch size.
The stand has received some criticism. But having to tilt &/or turn the monitor in another direction is not necessary for everybody. I have heard Westinghouse rates well with LCDs and it is wonderful to have seen it first-hand with this purchase.

VESA Plug & Play eliminates the complicated and time-consuming installation process. I have the resolution set at 1152x864 pixels. The no-glare screen is a plus in my opinion. That's always a personal preference. With the matte black finish keeps finger prints from showing as well.

Since built-in speakers typically never measure up, a Bose Companion 3 system for a couple hundred bucks is ideal for music-lovers... and can be had due to the savings you're getting from buying this LCD.

All along I was set on 19"... so glad to have waited!"

What's great about it: the clarity of picture is almost lifelike
What's not so great: The speakers built in are very weak

"This monitor is the best upgrade I have purchased. Its range of resolution gives the person the opportunity to adjust his or hers according to the capabilities of their computer. This also is great for gaming. The refresh rate and response is breathtaking. Everything on the screen comes to life as if you were there in high definition. Plus it takes up little space and it is like having your own movie screen.

Great upgrade from your old crt or led monitor"

"Monitor is a little chinsy looking compared to the Gateways and such but I got it on sale for 230 bucks and am overall very happy with it. If you are an CAD software user like myself you will LOVE the bigger displays."

Extremely Happy with this purchase! 01/27/2008

What's great about it: The 22" widescreen says it all!
What's not so great: I found no cons...

"I purchased another 22" widescreen monitor on sale for only $209.99 and I had problems with it flashing on and off at random times and it also had 2 dead pixels. I returned it and this model was on sale for the same price. They exchanged it with no questions asked. There are NO dead pixels and it worked with no problems at all. No flashing as the previous one did. I was running a 17" lcd and went to this model. Now i tend to sit back to play games the monitor is that big. I would definately recomend it!"

"I purchased two when these displays were on sale. I was using only one for a couple days waiting on a dualhead2go unit. When I received it and hooked up the second display, I was upset because there was a pixel out and I didn't want to have to return it just for one little pixel. Luckily was able to fix it on my own and it works great. I would recommend these displays if in the market for inexpensive 22" displays."

What's great about it: Bright. Clear. Great price!
What's not so great: None

"Bought this for 169 (open box) a month ago. Great monitor. No dead pixels (*knock on wood*). Only negative (and it's picky) is that it looks a little cheap compared to higher-end monitors (i.e., bezel, stand). I wouldn't pay $299 for it (only because a 22" is a luxury, not a necessity, for me) but for sub-$200, it's hard to pass up for anything smaller.

Also, my experience with Westinghouse electronics in the past has been very positive, and from what I've seen, that seems to be the overwhelming norm with other buyers. My roommate purchased a Westinghouse 42" 1080p LCD, and he couldn't be happier. Very quality product for the money (~$1000)."

"I bought this monitor about a year ago on sale for $179.99. I've had 0 issues with it. No dead pixels. Good refresh rate. Currently, its paired with an EVGA 8800GT video card. There probably are better monitor's out there for the $259.99 that's its currently selling for (as off 01/18/08), but for the price I paid, I got a great deal."

BAD BAD BAD 01/14/2008

What's great about it: cheapo very cheap
What's not so great: WAY HORRIBLE DIED< returned 60 days ago no idea when I will get it back.

"mine was on sale 179.00 died within 20 days,dead pixel, looked crppy motherboard died, igot no image, menu crashed ect. sent in after waiting a week for an RMA two monthes into waiting for word on whether they will fix or replace it. they have outsourced their customer support and give the support reps no info. basically your screwed. best advice I can give, DONT BUY !!!!!! it is worth 50 or 100 bucks to get a better brand. weskinghouse sucks
called today and they have no updates, no idea when it will get fixed or shipped."

Don't Buy this 01/11/2008

What's not so great: Bad pixels
"I purchased the 22 inch on line for $209.00, thinking it was a good deal based on reviews I read. When I received and plugged it in, a pixel was bad in the middle of the screen. I decided to return it to a local BestBuy and exchange for another (techically I had to return it for a refund and then buy another one). I decided to have the GeekSquad folks plug it in for me after I bought it to ensure it worked fine. When they plugged it in, a pixel was bad again. The thirds the charm right? I went around the counter again, and returned it, bought another, went to the GeekSquad counter, plugged this one in and 2 pixels were bad!!!!!!!!
That was the last straw. I returned it for a full refund. I asked the sales person the best 22" they had in the store and he said it was the Samsung Model: 2232BW. "I bought this for Christmas for my techie-college son. He loves it. He is a gamer, and needed something fast and with a great picture, and he said this was the best Christmas present ever. No problems, no dead pixels, nothing negative to report. It was $199 on sale just before Christmas, and with all the shopping I did and comparing, this was the best deal ever. We are very happy."

"This display is very bright and evenly lit, great viewing angles. It is just what I wanted in an LCD. There is no DVI cable included, but for the price it is reasonable not to have one. I didn't even notice at the store that this model has internal speakers, which I didn't plan on using, but I did try them out and the sound is very poor/low volume, but I don't need them anyway. They would be sufficient for an office environment just to hear the normal computer sounds, but definately not hi-fi audio. Overall, the price was great and service at Best Buy is always great."

"Excellent monitor for the price. Man, this thing is bright!
I needed a monitor to replace my aging and darkening monstrocity of a 17" CRT. I had been researching the 19" - 22" LCD's for a long time and decided that I would have to see them in person to make my final decision.

Standing in the store looking at this monitor next to the LG and Samsung, the sample images looked just as good if not better. With the awesome color quality and brightness of this monitor and the price (WOW) compared to the others, I made my decision immediately and went with this Westinghouse 22" Widescreen LCD. This monitor works perfect for me, I do a lot of work with documents and pictures (mostly surf the net) as well as game quite a bit and every image just takes my breath away. Not to mention the amount of workspace I have on my desk now. Simply amazing. It does not come with a DVI cable though and it doesn't say anything about it on the box. I knew to get one thanks to reading previous reviews and a wonderful Best Buy sales associate was more than willing to help me find one, still for less money than the other brands."

"Just picked up this monitor yesterday. I was going to go with a 17" or a 19" but then I saw this 22" for sale- $209. Picture quality is very good. The BestBuy rep said Westinghouse brand is right behind Samsung and LG. Quality product without breaking the bank. I had a 17" CRT and was happy with the picture quality. It broke down last week so I hooked up a LCD monitor that my sister gave me. She had an old spare. I was very dissapointed with it. Very poor quality which is why I was reluctant to get an LCD. I wanted decent picture quality without paying too much. So far no real complaints. It's just a little too bright for my eyes but I adjusted the settings to dim it and leave it on economy mood. And it's fine for my eyes now. As for the stand, I don't move my monitor around all the much so it's not big factor for me. A big wide screen is also nice for DVDs. I watched a DVD last night and was very satisified with the picture quality. I was able to get in touch with Westinghouse rep over the phone quite easily also to answer a question I had. The lady was helpful. Never heard of Westinghouse before but I'm glad I came across one of their products. Seems like a reputable company to me."
