One of the best LCD's, I read the reviews before purchasing, and they were right, all of them recommend the product. it is worth the money. infact I bought 2 of them. Value for money is excellent. You will not be sorry.

What's great about it: Price, Quality, Contrast
What's not so great: Startup
I've had this TV for almost 3 months and have to say it's a great value fot the money. Movies look great in 1080p and HD tv is great. IT even does a good job displaying regular TV in the widescreen format.
One downside is startup. It takes a few seconds to turn on after hitting the power button, but this keeps powerconsuption low when it's off.
Have it hooked up to a PS3 for blueray and gaming. COD4 is great on it!

What's great about it: Good Picture Quality
What's not so great: Better Projection for Speakers
I love this TV. We use it around 12 hours a day in our living room. It's well lit and almost always on. Lol :) So yeah had it for 5 months now. It does tend to heat up a little in the back after around 5 hours of continuos use. We don't have HD hooked up yet :( but the picture quality with 480i using DTV is ok. We'll be upgrading soon I hope, but it's an excellent overall TV, and no motion Blur or anything like that. Life-like colors.

What's great about it: great value, bright, beautiful color, sharp picture
What's not so great: laptop didn't detect supported resolution
I just picked this TV up. I love it. It's a big beautiful picture and the clarity with DirecTV and the HDMI connection is SO CRISP! However, it was such an awe inspiring moment when I booted up my new XBOX 360 Elite with the HDMI connection and my living room erupted in brilliant crystal clear color and light. WOW! I'm in love. Such a great TV. The remote is a bit big, but it's easy to do what you want to do and it's a snap to switch inputs.

I purchased this TV just before the Super Bowl through Best Buy and could not be happier. I was hoping to get a 50" but could not find one for under $2,000, so I decided to settle for a 47". It was between the Toshiba Ragza and the Vizio which I have heard have excellent picture quality despite thier relatively low price. In the end it was a sale at Best Buy which made up my mind for me, as I got this TV for $200 less than the Vizio of the same size.
Although I do not have an HD cable box yet, the picture quality on this television is flawless. I have heard from others that many HD tv's do not display standard resolution pictures well and cause them to look grainy, that is not the case with this one. Playing video games with the Xbox 360 on HD mode is incredible. Prior to this I had a 15 year old projection television, so the difference in picture is amazing.
Although I believe the Sony Bravia has a better picture than this model, for the price it cannot be beat. If you can afford $2,500 or so for a television I would recommend the Bravia, but if you are looking for a quality 47" HDTV for around $1,500 you will not find a better TV than the REGZA.

What's great about it: Setup was very easy. Was watching in about 10 minutes from getting it out of box.
What's not so great: Warmup time is a little long
This is the first HD television purchased. After reading other horror stories about getting it setup I was very pleased to find I really did not have to do much for the basic setup. Remote works well and is functional for all the other devices that I have.

What's great about it: cost, look, remote, menu, NO BLUR, clarity, more...
What's not so great: viewing angle, lip sync.
had some issues (what i know now were VERY minor) and took it back on the 29th day. (with NO hassle and very curtious) this was my first HDtv so i didnt have anything else to really compare it to. my biggest issue's were the viewing angle is pretty sharp in my opinion, if i was on the couch i was fine, but if i sat in a chair, which was next to the couch... i would see a noticable difference, if i were past that.... it would be "washed out" looking. (like turning the brightness up real high.) and i THOUGHT the black was bad (really more like grey) on scenes that are at night or prodominently black, it would be more like grey. and i tried every setting in the book but couldnt get it any darker. (dont turn your brightness down TOO far INSIDE the color palet or you will get that LCD annomoly where the walls kind of "move") SO.... i ended up replacing THIS tv with the 52"sony Wseries.... which had a better contrast ratio. BUT.... the same "test scene" and the blakness looked the same. greyish. i think that is just a symptom or annomily of an LCD panel. but on the toshiba-with enough tweeking- you can get decent black. (if your DVD player has picture controls, i'd sugest using those to help get those blacks a little blacker.) i do notice glare a little, like from a lamp, it is not an all-out "reflection" but the color or contrast isnt the same in that area, or when the scene turns black you see the light. BUT the sony was even worse than the toshiba for glare i thought. i noticed lots of "banding" and almost constant "motion blur" and even a definiate and bad case of "ghosting" on the SONY...... and virtually NO bandind or blur problems and NO ghosting at all with the TOSHIBA. also the 52" was just a spidgen TOO big for my room, i sudgest 46" unless you are sitting atleast 18-20 feet back. the color seemed more true and vivid on the TOSHIBA. the SONY's color and blacks seemed to artificially put together. the sonys remote felt cheap and had a delay-menu wise. and i liked the menu and remote layout MUCH more than the sonys. all for about 1k less!!!! the sound is ABOVE AVERAGE... people that complain about it must not be using the menu settings. i used a 1080p up convert with HDMI and from a distance looked almost flawless. i use a roof top antena (about 20 free HD channels) and when you are watching something like am. idol, or the intro to survivor or most anything at 1080i it is for lack of a better word, flawless. but it always seemed to not be dead-on with the whole lip sync thing.... T.V. was the worst, but i have heard and seen other peoples tv,cable, ect. do that. over all i would have kept it. i am no kicking myself for not saying leave well enough alone. i got mine for 1,500 and was a steal at that price. this is one of those rare gems, and i wish i could go back in time now.

This is the second Toshiba HD LCD TV that I've purchased after doing a LOT of research and side by side comparison. The picture is outstanding and I'm happy with the overall look and performance of the products. I was a little surprised that the remote comtrols were laid out differently - OK, so the first TV was only a 32" and the new one is a 47", but I'm a creature of habit. It would be nice to have the same button in the same place on both remotes....

i also bought this when BB had it for 900 off i was looking at the dlps until i seen this deal.i have a ps3 thru hdmi,directvhd thru hdmi and 1080p dvd player thru hdmi which makes regular dvds look almost hd.the ps3 picture is amazing games and bd movies.people that give this tv lower reviews because of the standard def. picture quality should not be blaming the tv.every hdtv's sd channels looks rough.these tvs are meant for 720 or 1080 16x9,not 480i 4:3.i done alot of looking before i bought mine and the picture is as good as sony and samsung it also has only had good reviews from any website,that is always a deciding factor when i buy electronics(reviews).so do not listen to reviewers that blame the tv for sd picture quality.

My wife had left a negative remark about this tv stating the picture quality was bad, we called best buy and they sent us a brand new one and boy did she feel silly when the new one was installed. We have nothing bad to say about this tv. the priced discount sale was perfect for the money and the tv looks amazing! Lots of ways to adjust the screen to your likings and when it is on HD it is a sports fanatics best freind. The tv is well worth it and dealing with Best Buy was more than perfect, they are so easy, would never shop anywhere else!!

I bought a Sony 40" Bravia and didn't open the box due to me being in the process of moving. My father called up and asked me what I knew about this tv. I did not look at it, but at the time, there was a great sale on it. I made a couple of calls and also looked at a lot of reviews online. I read about the "greening" effect (which is why I only gave it a 4), but my tv does not have it. Anyway, I took the Sony back, and got this tv.
I run a PS3 on it and watch bluray dvd's quite a bit. GREAT PICTURE!!! I am floored with the quality. I was nervous about the "piano black" on the tv, but it is not a problem...it doesn't bother me at all. Last night for the first time I put in a regular dvd in the ps3 and watched it (Superman). The picture was great! It may, however, have been that my receiver (Harmon Kardon 247) upconverts regular dvds to 720.
I run a PS3 on it and watch bluray dvd's quite a bit. GREAT PICTURE!!! I am floored with the quality. I got this TV about 3 weeks ago when Best Buy had $900 knocked off, and it ROCKS!!!. Picture is great,the sound is great, but I use my surround sound most of the time. Lots of options and settings. There was not 1 dead pixel on it. I've watched HD DVD's, Blue-Ray, and Dish HD on this already and everything looks Superb. I own 2 other Toshiba TV's , a Toshiba DVD, Toshiba HD DVD, and Toshiba Laptop. Every product Rocks. I think Toshiba is one of the best Brands out there and this TV is just another great product by Toshiba.
The only con maybe, just like most other products made today it's shiny and black. I love black but it shows alot of dust, but no big, just have to use the swiffer more often.

We just bought this TV after looking at them for over a month. We thought we purchased a high quality TV for a great price but after getting it home and hooked up we were disappointed. On an HD channel there picture is great. It's very clear and bright, but on a reg DVD or reg cable channel the picture is very blurry and you can see the pixels change with every motion. We only have 10 HD channels so most of what we watch is reg old cable. Every time we change the channel there is a delay in getting the picture and a rainbow of colors and a pause happends before it will come on.I wouldn't recommend this TV to anyone that will be watching anything but HD.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's not so great: A bit heavy
Great TV. I bought it when it was on sale for only $1299. Having 3 HDMI ports is very helpful. I have heard many people talk about having a green tint on their screens, but that is not the case with mine. The swivel stand lets you adjust your viewing angle which is a plus. You wont find a better TV out there for the size and price.

I purchased this 47" LCD for under $1,200. It was definitely worth trying at that price. I have a DirecTV HD DVR and Blu-Ray player hooked up via HDMI. This is my first jump into HD.
The HD pictures via both sources are outstanding. The non-HD pictures are not great, but that seems to be an issue with most TV's. The pre-defined viedeo modes seem to be set up rather well, and tweaking the video settings is an easy thing to do.
The sound quality through the TV speakers is adequate. Of course if you're going to sit down and watch a HD movie, you're still better off running the sound through a dedicated AV receiver.
Maybe I could have bought a higher quality Samsung or Sony, but it would have cost over $1,000 more for the same size and features. My eyes like the look of this TV, and the extra grand can be spent on a Blu-Ray player or something else.

My first big $ purchase of this type. I spent many weeks researching and comparison shopping, but was hesitant about the prices. I found it on sale for $1299.99, which was just as much as SMALLER "off brands", so I scooped it up. Paid $60.00 for delivery and only $180.00 for the 4 year warranty, MUCH better value compared to other big box stores. Plenty of connections, and the componet connections on the side are a great feature for cameras. Incredible picture with really no glare, due to the matte screen. 10,000:1 contrast ratio (I had to call to get this info, it's not listed in the product specs online at Best Buy) I have watched sports and regular DVD's, (they look terriffic) and the HDTV signal is outstanding! (highly recommend upgrading to HD signal) Get it on sale, you won't be disapointed!

I have been looking at TV's for the past few months and have always been drawn to this one at the stores. The picture quality is nothing short of amazing. I also bought a Toshiba DVD player that upconverts to 1080p and have that hooked up via HDMI and every movie I have watched so far looks extremely clear and sharp. I also have hooked up an HD cable box via HDMI and those pictures are very sharp as well.
One thing I noticed at the store was how the blacks seemed so much blacker on this TV then on the other TV's around it, and now that I have it at home it looks even better... the black levels are great.
All in all, it was a great TV purchase and at a great price!

This tv has an absolutely gorgeous picture quality. It's almost startling how crystal clear the picture is. With the ease of HDMI connection to connect components, this couldn't be easier to set up. I would highly recommend to anyone.
