What's great about it: Free HDTV
What's not so great: Absolutely nothing!
I get over 15 channels, most in HD including CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, UPN. Awesome product that cost me 1/4 the price of one month of cable! My DirectTV is now history thanks to this product!

What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: the antenna
This is no better than the cheapest antenna Best Buy sells. We tried this one and it was worse than our super cheap rabbit ears! We got reception but it was poor at best, non existent at worst. Don't even bother with this one.

What's not so great: Doesn't pickup diddly
This unit isn't any better than it's non-amplified family member that is $10 cheaper, receiving only 2 out of about 30+ channels in the Southern NH area that broadcast in HD and should be able to be received around here.

What's great about it: Many channels, excellent reception
What's not so great: Channel scan is time consuming
This antenna is great. I use it for in my room. When I first hooked it up, I only got 4 channels and was pretty disappointed. But the trick to getting more channels is to put it near or just outside of a window, and also do a channel scan which gave me about 80 channels. This is a great product for its price, and an excellent alternative to cable and sattellite bills.

What's great about it: Plug it in and it works
What's not so great: Signal will occasionally fad out
While this is not a total substitute for cable or satellite, it is totally worth $40 if you live near a broadcast tower. Do some research online first to find out how close you are to HD towers. I live in the D.C. metro, approximately 7 miles from downtown D.C. where the HD towers are located. We get CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox and PBS all in beautiful HD, and about 20 other channels. Some of the other channels are in foreign languages. We are scheduled for a Direct TV install, but with all the snow now, we're using this antenna for a couple of months. HD signals are beautiful on my 42" HD TV. For those who don't like this antenna, I bet they don't live close enough to HD towers. I plan to use this antenna in a bedroom after Direct TV is installed to save a little money. I am totally happy with this antenna.

What's great about it: when placed in window, I got 52 channels for FREE
What's not so great: nothing
I tried MANY HDTV antennas and the last two before this were an $80 Terk and a $9 RCA. The $9 RCA was good for the money, but it had no amplification. As I live in a basement apartment, some channels were horrible, but once I got this RCA and placed it in a window with gain settings on maximum< I got 15 analog and 32 digital channels!! I deleted the analog ones and the HD channels are BEAUTIFUL!!! I got this antenna on sale for $30, so it was money well spent.

What's great about it: Great reception, modern style, easy to position and locate
What's not so great: This product definitely needs better instructions
I just changed to satelite TV service and I was disappointed that my local channels were not in HD. I started looking into an antenna and at first I figured I would go as cheap as possible and hope for the best. That was not a good idea. Even though I live right in the center of Sioux Falls, SD, reception with a non-amplified antenna was horrible. Thanks to the Best Buy return policy, I took my original purchase back, asked a few questions of the sales staff, and I purchased this amplified antenna. Took it howm , plugged it in, and I was still not happy with the reception. Then I found the gain control. What a difference!!! I am now watching all my local network stations in crystal clear HD, pulling in two HD stations from PBS, and also getting the local CW in HD. This is a great antenna for my location.
The manufacturer should really change the package or slip a short instruction sheet in the box to tell us poor consumers about the gain control

What's great about it: Unit minus the rabbit ears somewhat compact
What's not so great: Does not pull in all local channels; rabbit ears ugly, takes up room & unbalanced.
Recommended by the Best Buy TV dept. manager as alternative to the pricey outdoor digital antenna unit. Easy to setup but did not get all of the local channels. Returned immediately. Instead hooked up the HDTV to the original, old (analog) rooftop antenna for better channel reception.

What's great about it: No set up, great reception, excellent value
I gave up Charter Cable almost 2 years ago. I recently purchased this item to receive local channels. It works marvelously!! I have HD reception of all my local channels, for less than the cost of one month of cable! Take it out of the box, plug it into a wall socket and the television, and you're good to go - so glad I found this!

What's great about it: It brought in Tulsa's local ABC station that brodcast in VHF-D in midtown
What's not so great: dipoles a little stiff and could break if not carefully worked when setting up.
I have bought a few amplified TV Antenna's that didn't have the gain this one does it brought in Tulsa's ABC station in midtown . KTUL which broadcast in VHF-D doesn't come in with a lower gain..This one has got 55db. Having two gain controls UHF and VHF is a plus when your dealing with HDTV signals. Like other reviewers I have had to find the right spot for it higher works better near a window. Takes a while to find that spot but it's well worth it when you do. I am telling others that live near me about this one.

What's great about it: Pulled in stations I really wanted: NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, CW, MYTV12, ETV, and others. 19-26 miles from stations.
What's not so great: I'm not sure. This is after 1 day. The store had many types of antenna but only 2 left of these on an empty shelf.
I have this setup with a 25 inch Samsung P2570HD TV/Monitor. The Tv has internal TV Tuners but you need an antenna for broadcasts that aren't from Cable or Satellite. The local cable company Comporium has only Fox in HD for basic subscribers. I didn't want to buy a huge TV and pay more for cable without trying other possibilities. This size is perfect for my bedroom. This did the trick. I am now in HD heaven and with my XBOX(upscanning to 1920 by 1080 with pc cable) and netflix having HD content now I'm in crazy HD mania heaven now. I watched Leverage (tv show in hd on netflix) Antenna seem to be like most things. Some work better for different situations. Do research on the tv stations you want and find out how far you are from them. I'm impressed that I am pulling so many channels with this solution. I'd buy this again. I'm taking back a Terk flat antenna which I did not open because this worked so well. Antenna.org helped with a lot of information. Good Luck to all trying to get HD. It's really cool when you finally see the difference.

What's great about it: Gets all locals in hd and $70 turk wouldnt
What's not so great: not low-profile
all of my local channels look better on this antenna then they did on the $70 terk i bought. i went into the store dissapointed because i bought the terk and it didnt do anything more than regular rabbit ears but the sales person told me to get this one and i thought he was nuts at first but he was right i guess this one has the highest amplification and thats why its the best so try this one out if your dissapointed in what you have now the hd looks better than my time warner cable box does

What's great about it: Compact, sleek and clean looking. No rabbit ears extended.
What's not so great: Self contained coaxial cable could be longer with some instructions.
I have mine connected to a digital tuner and also to my Marantz reciever for FM channels. The unit has rabbit ears but I do not need them. I have them tooked in behind the main unit. I had another type of antenna up and my wife made me bring it back because it looked so ugly and it was. This unit is plugged in and powered up. Connected to my digital tuner and receiver. I get all the channels plus some I did not know was even offered. I highly recomend this unit. I figure I live about 40 miles from the television towers. I also receive all of the radio stations with this unit and did not with one of the other ones that cost more.

Ok last night my RCA outdoors hdtv antenna stoped working. My ac plug seems to have fried so I went and picked up this antenna and wow what a diffrence.
With my old RCA antenna I tried sticking it everywhere and still I could not pick up NBC and Fox came in spotty. As soon as I plugged in the RCA Amplified Indoor Off-Air HDTV Antenna bang NBC came in crystel clear and FOX was the same. I live 25 miles or more from the TV towers in my area. This sure beats paying comcast.

What's great about it: easy to connect, great reception
What's not so great: available elsewhere for much lower price, but Best Buy matched it
I only had basic cable but was very unsatisfied. This device was very easy to connect, rescanning on my HDTV picked up all my local channels and a few that I didn't even get with cable. I have the antenna sitting on a windowsill, I get great reception. Picture has pixellated once in a while but no worse than my cable. For the price of 1 month of service, I can be cable-free for life.
