Good product but not the best, I personally havent had any problems. Have had the product for 8 month. I have had similar products this one is the best. I brought this product because i have a all in one home theater system with dvd and only has one input. So I bought this and it does what I want, to expand my inputs.
What's great about it: Automatic switch
What's not so great: No HDMI
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product did work for my need to get a customer's XBOX into an older Plasma that only supported 480P Component. The auto switching was a major plus and this will do for the meantime.
I would recommend this product only if there is not an alternative readily available, time is short and the quality of the picture of not the highest priority. What can one expect for 44.00? This is for when having to buy a new large screen display or a new AVR receiver that would have more component inputs and HDMI upscaling is not an option.
Philips Marketing should be made aware that there is a very large gap in 3rd party manufacturers making component switchers with few options other than Zektor and Gefen at $300 - $500 with limited distribution to boot. If they would just put in a little more quality and charge 100.00 these things would sell and not be returned so often. It must be because the markets in Europe and Asia really do not spend and are always looking to save.
What's great about it: Simple and easy solution for adding additional Component inputs to an older system that just does not have enough
What's not so great: Build quality so so and do not expect the best 1080i quality. This is strictly for 480P

Its great because you can have up to 3 different component and composite and s-video without it looking bad. Understand in order to get good HD TV you need to use an HDMI cable because component cables arent the best with HD, HDMI are. Which is not supported by this product, but it still a great buy if you need extra component room.
What's great about it: Good price
What's not so great: Nothing i could find

This is a cheap solution if you have a television with one HD Component cable input, and you want to run multiple HD component devices. For me it was cable tv and an Xbox.
This is a cheap solution, but you get what you pay for. The quality is poor. The colors are highly saturated, there are some lines and after some time, about 6 months for me the two signals started to bleed together. If my cable and xbox where on at the same time I'd see one or the other faintly bleeding onto the current broadcast.
I decided to forego HD on the xbox and tossed this switcher in the garbage.
I wouldn't say I was disappointed, as I sort of suspected going in that a solution this cheap would have its issues.
What's great about it: Cheap
What's not so great: Poor Performance

I wish there was a way to give zero stars. This switch destroyed the quality of my HD picture. I used the component video inputs and output to connect a HDTV tuner and an HDTV cable box to my tv. There are visible lines in the picture and the signal just outright drops out. I switched cables and check for differential impedance between runs. The problem is clearly within the box. This is a terrible product. I don't think I will buy another Phillips product. Poor quality and design seems to be systemic.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Degrades HD componenet video signal

This thing is great. I was looking for a A/V switcher, pretty much so I'd have more A/V outlets for my TV. I really liked this one because it automatically switches inputs to which ever one was turned on last, which is really convenient. I kind of wish it had more than more inputs though, several other models do. The price is more than some other models, but Phillips is a good respected brand, so I thought is was worth the few extra dollars. For number of ports and automatic feature its well worth it.
What's great about it: easy to use, convenient, sweet
What's not so great: none I can think of

I have Xbox 360, which feeds 1080p.
My HDTV is Samsung 58" Plasma 1080p.
Philips PH61150 cannot handle 1080p.
The standard definition from the original Xbox is fine, but not the high definition 1080p.
I returned it and got my money back.
There should be a clear warning stating that it's not compatible with 1080p.
What's great about it: Auto switch works. Compatible with standard definition.
What's not so great: Not compatible with high definition 1080p.

I decided to try this product as my older HDTV only has one set of component video inputs, and I have multiple HD sources. It only took me a min to see how horrible this product was.
The image had a constant flicker with certain parts of text unreadable. The guide view on my Direct TV HD DVR was basically unreadable. The image also appeared to not be as clean as when the source was directly connected to the TV. My set, an older Mitsu RPTV, only has 1 1080i input...
Avoid this product!!! You get what you pay for!
What's great about it: cheap...only good for SD, AUTO-switching worked
What's not so great: HD image is poor, flickering, slowdown, loss of image

This is a great product. It will automaticaly switch to the connection when turned on. It will auto select the last Device that was turned on. I can also select the device if I wanted to or had multiple devices on at the same time. It is compact enough to fit where I need it to.
I had some troubles connecting older video cables and having them show on my TV.
What's great about it: I can connect multiple cables into my tv and not have to switch to witch cable I am running from.
What's not so great: have a little trouble hooking up older cables.

used this to switch between the component input of my dvd player, wii, and playstation. when the dvds started to look green, we thought the dvd player was bad. turns out it was the input on this device. so, it is a great idea, but this model is very cheap.
What's great about it: switches inputs automatically
What's not so great: one of the component inputs is bad already

I bought this to hook my X-box360,DVD player, and HD cable box to one tv. What I got was a fuzzy blue picture from all the high def channels and xbox kept changing the resolution darker and darker, After I turned off the switcher and then on again it would work a little while and then do it over again. I returned it the same day. I am still looking for won't that will actually work like it should. This was the last one it stock so I don't know if it was defective or not I just know this one sucked.

Well, like others, I have a TV that has one set of (composite) inputs and multiple devices to plug in. I was using a manual AB switch to switch between my PS2 and DVD player, but the addition of a Wii necessitated a switch with more inputs. This unit did the trick.
.
The unit has three sets of inputs on the back and one set on the front. At present, I am only using the composite (vs. component) video inputs on the back...and it works great. No longer do the non-technical members of my family need to fumble with a switch. The just make sure that the device that they want to use is turned on and that the other two devices are turned off and the switch handles the rest while it is in auto mode. I have not had to use manual mode.
What's great about it: Works well, Auto switches based on signal, Inexpensive
What's not so great: None

I bought this for my xbox 360, and when I put the settings past 480p the picture gets distorted. I wouldn't buy this thing. Get something more expensive and I think you'll be much happier in the long run.

I purchased this switch hoping that it would make life easier when changing from the tv to a movie or to play the xbox 360. Unfortunately, I gave this product two chances to perform correctly. I bought the first one, connected everything, and input #2 had interference on it, which made for a blurry picture with lines going across it. So, I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a second one. The second one has the same problem with worse lines on input #1. I am returning this one also. There is another component switch box made by Pelican that works great. It is not automatic, which means you have to walk up to the TV....but the picture is great, and it seems to maintain the 1080i quality across all of the inputs. Don't buy this product unless you like exchanging items.

On my second unit as I thought the first unit was defective. While the auto switch function is cool, I've noticed that there was a line on the screen that moved up and down while watching a movie on HD DVD. Then it did it again while watching my DirecTV. It doesn't seem to do it in HD channel but when I am watching it in standard digital channel, the screen becomes unstable and multiple lines start to move up and down the TV. I went back to Bestbuy and replaced it with another but this second one is worse. I think I will take it back and get my money back. Funny thing is it doesn't do it on HD programing on DirectTv.

I have a HDTV that has only 1 component in, no HMDI at all. Thanks to this device I can now connect my Xbox 360, Direct TV HD reciever & Standard DVD player. All an all its a easy to use, quick setup, nothing to configure. Especially no switching channels. I would recommend this device to anyone that has to switch cables or channels to use the HD feature.
What's great about it: Great for Tv's that have only 1 component in.
What's not so great: cheap plastic case for the price paid
