Pros: Ease of set-up and use.
Cons: Limited maps without purchasing extras
"I like this as a basic GPS unit. It serves my purposes of finding addresses very well. It isn't up-to-date on new road construction but is good at recalculating if it thinks you have gone off its recommended course. You can turn off the sound if you only want the directions on the screen."

Pros: The trip data page, avg. speed, time stopped, time moving, present speed, etc.
Cons: VERY annoying voice
"I like most things about this unit, but I just can't live with the voice. Not only is it annoying, but it talks too much when it isn't necessary.
Other than that, it is easy to use, has very good features like the ability to find points of interest along your route, and I especially like the data screen that tells you your time stopped, time moving, average speed, present speed, ETA, etc."

Cons: Does not speak street names
"Works well but leaves me wanting more from my GPS. I can't complain too much because it was given to me as a gift. Its not a bad unit and I love Garmin products, it has a very easy to use display and user inference just as all Garmins do, But there are better Garmins out there with similar prices like the 205, or 260w"

Pros: easy to use, clear directions, good screen
Cons: alternate routes aren't great, annoying voices
"This GPS is great for the money. I have no complaints except for the fact that when I request for an alternate route it doesn't find great routes at all. The alternate routes are usually just a road that puts you back on to the main road/highway a mile or so up. For $99, you can't go wrong though!"

Cons: Got me lost a couple of times.
"So after buying this I found that it had some cool features such as points of intrest. You can be anywhere and lets say you want to find a CD store you can search and it will find every CD store near by and then get you there. The bad thing is that a lot of stores have closed down and the Garmin will still send you there. Then you go on line to update the maps and you do a huge download to your computer and then try to put the download on the Garmin only to find out that the Garmin dosent have enough memory to do the update. Looks like your stuck spending more money buying a memory card. Not only that but the Garmin got me lost a couple of times. Lets just say that if you are out in the middle of no where the Garmin has issues. If you live in a city or a suburban area the Garmin is great though. I would recomend this item, just be careful sometimes it has issues."

"My husband and I purchased our GPS before our trip to Houston and absolutely loved it!! From the moment we walked out of the store I plugged it into our car adapter and was able to work it w/o even reading the directions, it's so easy to use. It accurately guided us through traffic, intersections, etc., we never got lost, which was a first!! I don't know how we operated in the past without it. My first GPS and I would highly recommend it to anyone."

"I am the woman that fits into the "has no sense of direction" stereotype. My entire life I have gotten lost - especially if it is an area that I'm unfamiliar with. So, as a birthday present to myself - I bought the Garmin Nüvi 200.
What a lovely driving companion "she" has turned out to be!! Very distinct audio, step-by-step navigation, crystal clear graphics, and an amazing capacity for finding every obscure address and location that I throw at her.
If you're considering buying a portable GPS product, I would HIGHLY recommend the Garmin Nüvi 200. Once you have it, you will wonder how you ever got along WITHOUT having one."

"i had never heard of the gps,i was so worried about getting lost in atlanta to see a play at the foxtheater, a friend let me borrow his gps, i don't travel at all, this gps system was the bomb!!! it was very easy to use and to understand!!! i can't believe i made this trip driving myself to the big city, i did not get lost, i went staight there with no problem, there was 3 exits i was not able to get off on because of road construction going on, the gps redirected me and i didn't have a worry in mind missing the exit i was suppose to be getting off on. the next day i went out and purchased my very own garmin!!!!!!!! look no further this one is for you!!!!!!! the voice is clear and loud and the instructions are easy to understand."
