Nice blender for the price but too loud. If you don't mind the noise this one will work fine but if you are looking for a quieter one. Pay a few dollars more.

I bought this because I needed something cheaper than the blentec I really wanted. I am a vegan so almost all of my recipes include nuts so I wanted something powerful but affordable. It emulsifies whatever you put in it. Having said that it is not ideal if you want to make nut butters or grind nuts you will still need to get a food processor to do those jobs but overall it does an amazing job for the money. Ice is also not a problem no huge chunks or pieces are left I use it to make smoothies and to blend my ice cream mixture. Great blender for the money. My only gripe is the glass bowl I have to replace already and I've only owned it for a month because it chipped at the top the good news Oster sells them for a reasonable price but I have to wait until they get more in stock.
What's great about it: Price, Powerful
What's not so great: Glass jar cracks easily

I needed to replace my old Black & Decker which cracked around the blade & was leaking. What a difference between the 2 blenders. The Oster Fusion is a workhorse. It made a perfect pina colada & has been perfect so far for lighter tasks as well. I am very impressed with it's performance & would recommend it to anyone looking for a high performance blender at a reasonable price.
What's great about it: Perfect ice crushing & overall performance.
What's not so great: Cant' think of any.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We have three of these blenders and use them all day long in our shake club. They are very durable and blend ice into fabulous shakes. There is never any chucks at the bottom very consistent blending!! I would recommend this model to everyone!!
What's great about it: Very consistent blending!
What's not so great: Very sharp blades can hurt when cleaning.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this blender to make indian cilantro chutney. But to my surprise it made it worse than my 15 dollar blender I already have. I got so disappointed that I am not using it anymore.
The glass bowl is so heavy and the mixer makes loud noise when run. Waking up everyone in the neighborhood.
I will never recommend it to anyone (not even by mistake).

I searched much more expensive machines to make smoothies and such before finding this one, my first Oster is 42 years old and still going, so I figured if this one does half as well, it was worth the try.
Very pleased with its performance, makes a smoothie while you watch, powerful motor, has no problem with ice, all around great machine!

Amazing blender, chops and blends very very well. Makes thick smoothies.

Unit is loud but its expected when you buy one as powerful as this.
And it DOES have reversible blades, it just only uses the feature when using the preset buttons, not the manual ones.

My blender recently broke down and I was insearch of another blender. I looked around and decided that this blender would make a suitable replacement because it had alot of the same specifications with one difference; this blender had more power!!! I took it home and bam, it worked out great! I was lost without my orange juice and fruit shakes in the morning for breakfast, but with multiple speeds, rotations, and a durable container this thing can make a smoothie in no time! I would definetly recommend it to anyone who was interested in blending!
What's great about it: Very pleasing to the eyes

My wife and I purchased the Oster Fusion as a replacement to the previous Oster blender we had owned. We were attracted by the Fusion's sleek black and stainless styling, the large motor size, and the many features this model boasted.
Unfortunately once we got our Fusion home and tried to assemble it, things didn't go so smoothly. The glass blending container wouldn't properly seat with the blades and the black plastic retaining base. No matter how many times we attempted to screw these 3 components together it always came out slanted, as if the threads weren't properly aligned. When I removed the blades and screwed the jar directly to the black base it mounted perfectly, so that means the blade portion was somehow improperly manufactured.
I was quite pleased with the quick action Best Buy took in issuing a no hassle refund when I returned this product the next day.
What's great about it: Really attractive blender, with great styling.
What's not so great: Item didn't assembel properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our family needed a powerful blender/food processor, so we retired our old one and bought this, fairly expensive blender. We've been using it for more than a year now and it still works great. Clean up is easy as the blade holder (quite sharp!) twist off so you can clean its nooks and crannies.
As mentioned by another reviewer, the glass container is not stable off its base so we just keep in on all the time. Other than that the motor is very powerful and the product looks great. I just wished we used it more that the occasional shakes and smoothies that we do.
What's great about it: Very powerful motor, easy cleanup.
What's not so great: Nothing really.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After only two years, we just retired a highly rated blender. Looking for something with more power at a reasonable price, we found the Oster Fusion 7 in stock at our local Best Buy. The glass jar has an easily cleaned lid with a feed chute larger than the cubes from our ice maker. The convenient controls include useful low and high speed pulse buttons. Low and medium operating speeds are surprisingly quiet. High speed noise resembles our older blenders, but seems more effective making smoothies. The pre-programmed "Frozen Drinks & Shakes" setting works well and is fun to watch. Black may not be the best color for a small appliance in our kitchen and the stick-on metal labels don't inspire confidence, but it works so well that we don't care.
What's great about it: Remarkably powerful with entertaining automation
What's not so great: Black . . . ?

I bought this unit on April 2nd 2009 after reading the reviews from other customers and also reading the box I thought it would be a good blinder to buy. It has 1000 watts of power, reversing motor, stainless steel 6 poing star blade, pre-programmed settings for frozen drinks and it automatically stops when complete that sounded just like what I was looking for. I used it everyday once a day for 4 weeks, I never put ice in this unit. I bought it for my forzen drinks so I always used frozen fruit. Now the piece that broke was the metal piece that sticks out from the base of the unit. The metal drive which is a part of the glass jar sit on top of it, that little piece broke from the base.
What's great about it: Price was good, reversing motor, 6 point star blade, and pre-programmed settings
What's not so great: the piece that the metal drive is place on broke after 3 weeks of use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My previous blender died on me while trying to make a sauce like a pesto that I make for the holidays--I burnt out the motor (not an Osterizer). I went out and got a new one and chose this model because of the power of the blender. I was not dissappointed. It quickly blended up my sauce. I like the on/off button and how after a while, if I forget to turn it off, it shuts off on its own. Also that I have two pulses (low/high) and that I can program blending for my favorite items that I do on a regular basis. I have consistently liked OSTER brands/models, and was NOT disappointed with this one. On top of that, the glass from another Osterizer I had was able to fit this base as well (it is a smaller size glass) so that was an accidental bonus.
What's great about it: How easily it blends items no matter how full. I did not have to stop the machine to manually mix the stuff at the top
What's not so great: Narrow food chute at top

This is one great and very powerful machine . I bought this because we love mudslides and my previous blender would just sit and hum and stink up the kitchen when I tried to crush ice , with liquid or without . This thing just destroys the ice without any strain at all . I love it !! I put it through a tough test the first day I bought it . I think from here on it should be able to handle anything I throw at it ..
What's great about it: Makes short work of ice!!
What's not so great: Feed tube small

I purchased this to replace another blender that didn't have enough power. The Oster has got the power, but I gave it 3 stars due to the fact that when you take the glass part off the base and place it on your counter, it seems as though it could easily topple over. The base of the glass is narrow and not very steady when it's off the base. I ended up returning it for a Cuisinart that has a wider base and the same amount of power.
