Great Purchase for price

What's great about it: doesnt take much room, great bass, clear sound
What's not so great: none yet
"I bought these speakers because the stock speakers that came with my computer just didnt cut it. So I went to Bestbuy to look and see if they had these. Luckly they did and with a five dollar coupon the quality couldnt be better for the price!!"

Not worth the money

What's great about it: Easy to set up, decent looking, and reasonably compact.
What's not so great: Sound quality is TERRIBLE and the parts are cheaply made.
"I got these to replace a set of speakers I have had for several years. They were easy to set up and don't take up too much space on my desk. That is where the pros end. These things sound terrible. They have a very flat muffled sound to them and the speakers are not able to handle any music that has much bass at all (I'm not listening to rap music either - mostly rock). I saw online where someone suggested plugging a cord into the aux port on the remote. It worked. It actually sounded better, which makes no sense at all. It didn't help the sound enough though. Still very muffled sounding. The iPod/MP3 "dock" is nothing more than a flimsy plastic shelf that holds the player. Don't expect a docking station on this thing. These are going back to the store."

"I Love Logitech products form their mice to their keyboards to their speakers. all my add-on components are Logitech. Great products at a really solid price. the sound coming out of these speakers is really full and amazing from the high notes to the bass. Also the product holds up well to the high level of abuse that all components seem to take in my house."

What's great about it: Sound, Price, Bass.
What's not so great: Could be smaller.
"Excellent sound for the price, I don't know what the other people on here are talking about it not having any bass, it does! The two towers could have been built smaller since there is only a 2" tweeter in them. Would also prefer if it had power, volume and bass controls on the speaker itself. Other than that I would definitely recommend these for the price."

What's not so great: THE SUB IS TERRIBLE
"i bought this because my previous speakers went out, and i figured this was going to put out a good amount of bass......i was VERY wrong, the only thing worth keeping out of this set are the two towers and the dock, might as well through away the sub. Anyways the sub in it is REALLY disappointing, and anything past volume level 10 you can hear the sub beating itself up on the inside. So, unless you don't like like bass at all, or very little bass, then these speakers are great for you. But honestly, these are some really great sounding towers, i was surprised on how well they sounded despite their size."

What's great about it: They get loud, sub works fine. Accessible controls.
What's not so great: Random 'pops', feedback at loud volumes.
"Random 'pops' whenever they're on. Slight feedback at high volumes. Will be refunding.
However, they do sound quite clear and they are a great buy for the price. Based on the other reviews, others may have had better experiences with these. I was not one of them."

"I've had this unit for a little over a year now. I took my desktop's X-230 speakers for my laptop, and went out to upgrade to this. The black design goes beautifully with my IBM ThinkCentre and produces deep, crisp, rich sounds. Couldn't be happier. I'm a loyal customer of Logitech. Highly recommend these to anyone on a budget."

What's great about it: Excellent Sound Quality for Price, Discrete Appearance

"I purchased these speakers fearing that they would do the HP Pavilion Elite desktop I had just purchased great shame; I was sorely mistaken. The sound quality is absolutely superb for the 55 dollars I paid for it. I gave it only four stars because audio just simply can go much, much farther if you pay for it.
Other than that, the speakers were plug and play with a single jack into the standard pale green audio slot and power cord, so compatibility is perfect.
The appearance once drop your jaw but its classic black, modular design means it'll remain attractive for years to come.
The only downside to these speakers was the actual set up. Logitech did a great job of bundling all kinds of wires together and making things appear to be properly hooked up when they are not. The directions provided will only be of value to you if you are at least a little handy with computers.
Simply put, Logitech may not have put so much 'logic' into the technical side of setting this 4-piece system up, but once you get it up and running, it's a terrific audio system that gives perhaps the most "bang for the buck" of any audio speakers I've ever bought."

What's not so great: Makes me want to buy one for the bathroom! lol
"For the price I don't know what more you want. These do what they are supposed to do. I have one in my bedroom. My wife connects her mp3 player to it every night and falls asleep to her music. The subwoofer for the size is great. I plan on buying another for my sons room, and then when I get another desktop, as long as the price is the same or even cheaper, I'll buy another one for that. I have in my living room a 1000+ watt system hooked up for True DolbyDigital and DTS Master surround sound. For the price this isn't meant for a serious surround sound set up, but it sounds great for any other purpose."

"I think that the speakers produce exceptional sound quality. My main problem is the spider web of speaker wiring that makes the unit appear poorly designed. I also found that the iPod hub is pretty useless and makes for a very large on-off switch. Again, it could have been designed better."

What's great about it: Simple, quick and easy configuration
What's not so great: Down-firing subwoofer - good in theory - lacks real punch
"This affordable 2.1 system does what it is suppose to do - plays clearly and loudly enough. The satellite speakers play really well - really good clarity and sounds great when high quality stereo mode. My setup is running through a Creative Audigy 2 sound card which enhances the quality compared to onboard sound. The sub woofer has great potential. It is a down-firing sub woofer (sub woofer speaker is at the bottom of the box) which would sound really well if placed on hardwood floors which would allow the sound to reverberate. I am unfortunate to have carpeted floors which only absorbs all the bass. The system also has a volume control that is nicely designed.
The design is really nice - black is always sleek and timeless. It goes perfectly with my gloss finished monitor."

Good Speakers

What's great about it: Good sound quailty, good price
What's not so great: Instructions need to be more clear
"Bought these to replace some 10+year old Creative Lab speakers that have moved from place to place with me. I needed something that had an easy access headphone jack as I work the "swing shift" and am still wide awake around midnight - 1am. I live with other people and while they sleep, I like to jam to my tunes in order to wind down for the night. Now for what they are, these Logitechs are GREAT. No, it won't beat a Bose or some other "high end system", but if you're looking for something that sits on your desktop very well, and the subwoofer's outta the way, then I strongly recommend this.
I also have an iPod / Zune "dock" on here, don't have either so I haven't had a chance to use this feature yet. But to know it's there is great."

What's great about it: For the money this item has good sound.
What's not so great: Wires everywhere, ipod docking and adapters are terrible.
"So I wanted something cheap and easy to set up and this product fit the criteria.
The sound from the desktop speakers are good, but not perfect obviously. The desktop speakers can sound cracky under stress from trebble sounds. You definately don't want to put too much through them or they seem like they might blow. The bass however sounds very good for a surprisingly small speaker. There are a bunch of wires but it's not over done with positive and negative lines. It's simple wires with nice plugs and the wires have good thickness and is not over done. The worst part I thought was the incoporation of adapters for your ipod or what have you. These adapters are simply is not good at all. You will have to find your own way as I did to get mine on there nicely. The plastic junk they give you and call adapters are simply not viable at all.
Anyway, for about 50 dollars the whole package is nice, but not perfect by any means. If your on a budget then this product is about right for the amount of money asked for."

"These speakers have been excellent so far! I use them on my mac and the sound quality/bass has been 1000x better than factory/internal computer speakers. For the price, you can't beat it. I have done away with my stereo equipment... these speakers can really pump out some sound. The only negative thing is sometimes I pick up someone else's radio stations.... Not sure if that is because of the speakers or my computer. Either way, for the money, they are great!"
