Great Family Purchase

What's great about it: Big Hard Drive, Great Graphics, Family and Grown Up Titles
What's not so great: None
"My husband and I decided to take the plunge and buy the XBox 360 Elite at Christmas time. Not only was it a gift for the kids, but for my husband and myself as well. The most important selling point for us, compared with the other XBoxes, was the large hard drive.
Through XBox Live, we have been able to download and store several games at a fraction of the cost of the retail titles. Movies and TV Shows, some in HD, are also available for download. In addition, several titles from the original XBox platform are compatible, which can also save you money. Of course, some retail XBox titles are definitely worth the money. There is something for everyone, including 4 player games so the whole family can play together.
We are really happy with the decision to purchase the XBox 360 Elite. It is great family fun for cold winter days."

What's great about it: Incredible System
What's not so great: Price
"Awesome system for any Xbox lover. I had problems with the original Xbox 360, but I haven't had any with this system yet. It runs smoother and looks better than the old system. Plus, it has the HDMI connection so the picture is even better on a high def TV.
I also purchased the HD-DVD player that attaches. Although that is almost worthless now, it was a neat future for a while because it saved space and provided a great picture. If you can find one cheap, these players still upgrade regular DVDs to 720 so it still helps in viewing regular movies.
I can't say enough about Xbox. It dwards Playstation anyday!!!"

"I bought Xbox 360 Elite around Christmas time 2007. This is absolutely great console and never had any problems playing few hours straight without turning it off. I`m using it with my HD TV connected with HD cable which is included with the system. Games have amazing sound and graphics and game makers now really strive to squeeze the juice from this console and use it`s capabilities in full 100%. There is tons of gig space on the hard drive where you can put tons of music or movies etc.. I finished many games on it and have a friend who spent $2000 for his custom built Pc for games only. There is really no difference comparing same games on PC and Xbox 360 + you can save tons of money for new games or a dinners with your girlfriend ! A graphics card for pc will cost you same as this whole system which you can just enjoy it and keep buying new games instead of worrying if new game will need a new graphics card. I highly recommend this console to you !"

"i was nervous for a long time about purchasing a 360. the overheating and red ring problems really turned me off of it. i finally broke down and got one a few months ago and i must say im thoroughly pleased. ive had no issues whatsoever, and considering the way my 4 yr old abuses it sometimes im pretty suprised.
the only con is how loud it is. sometimes when im playing late at night i have the tv volume really low so i wont wake my family and sometimes i cant hear the tv for how loud the console is.
its really not a problem, but its annoying."

What's great about it: Great game selection
What's not so great: DVDs seem to limit the amout of high def details you can get with its games
"The Xbox360 is an excellent system. Their online community is second to none. The only downside is you pay to get it, whereas it is free on the other systems... but that is also because it is not as good. Achievements for all games are more enticing with the 360. The PS3s system is lack luster and not as good. The game selection for the 360 is also vast. Another downside is that all games are on the DVD format… which limits developers to how much HD content can be put onto the disc. So far this hasn’t been a big issue but I can foresee it becoming a bigger issue with game companies getting into their second and third wave of games for these next gen-systems. With a price point that is reasonable it is highly recommended for any gamer."

"This is great. I love the black color it fits in better with my media center then the white would. The 120gb hard drive included provides plenty of space to download games from xbox live marketplace.
The included HDMI cables is a real bonus since you don't have to buy it seperately. The graphics are great. This is best used with a broadband connection available.
The wireless controller is great, but using the wired headset is a little wierd since you hand can bump the cord and pull it out. Also the rechargeable battery pack would of been nice."

"This is a great addition to the Xbox family. If you are new to the gaming scene and was thinking about what system to get this is a great one to have. I would not recommend upgrading your old Xbox 360 to get the elite, unless you have the extra money to throw around.
The elite with its massive Hard Drive has plenty of space for downloaded games, movies, pictures, and music. Also it is really nice how you can set this up to a Windows computer Media Center through your network. This is a really nice feature to watch and listen to all your content from your PC to your 360 elite.
The only problems I see is that it does not come with a High Def player unless you buy it separate. Also there is now wireless connector built in although it is available separate as well. However for the price I feel it should be included or at least one of the two. The other hassle I found was that the only way to transfer music was from an actual CD and that can take awhile when you have ten to twenty gigs of music. Also, you need to pay for Xbox Live for online play. Although it is a pain it is well worth it.
I have enjoyed this system for awhile now and it has not given me any problems. I would recommend getting an additional external fan just to help prolong the life of your elite. The cooling system works and it has not overheated yet, but there is a good amount of heat after long periods of play. Nonetheless this is a great system and will have you well prepared for the great things to come to the gaming industry."

"I'm a fan of the xbox series of consoles, and I've been one since the first console launched. I like my elite, since it provides much needed HD space, and I've got my HD-DVD player connected ,eventhough the format is dufunct, it stilll works great as a upconverter. Overall, this console rocks, and I hope MS lowers the price in the near future to boost sales."

"the 360 is the best system ever im a ps2 guy hate xbox but luv the 360 n dont really like the ps3 i dont know go figure. the achievement system is the best thing they ever put on a system makes playing gm's so much more fun at first i really dident pay attention 2 the achievement system but now i buy alot of gm's just 4 the achievements any other system u can go out n buy a gm 4 60$ n get board with it quick u can beat a gm n still not have all the achievements. Must buy system who cares what people tell u bout them allways freezin this is my 2nd 360 the white 1 gave me all sorts of problems but ever since i bought the elite360 i have not had a prob yet !!!!!!!!!"
