What's great about it: HDMI connection, awesome flat black case, quiet!!!
What's not so great: a little pricey but not bad when you add up the package deal!

"I just recently bought this Elite bundle when my original xbox finally got the RRoD (bought in April, '06). I had my xbox set up on my 46" Samsung lcd running at 1080i with the VGA cable. I bought the Elite simply b/c of the black color, but was I in for a treat! The Elite and the supplied HDMI cable running at 1080p is absolutely stunning! I'm mad at myself for waiting this long to make this upgrade. I honestly wouldn't have believed that going from the VGA cable to the HDMI cable would make such a difference. I feel like I'm playing my Xbox games again for the first time!!! Bravo!!!!"

What's great about it: Comes with an HDMI cord, 120 GB hard drive, 2 decent games
What's not so great: Games it comes with could be better

"This is a killer deal, the Xbox 360 elite system comes with the console, HDMI cable, headset, 2 games (Lego Indiana Jones, which is a good game for the whole family, and Kungfu Panda, which is alright especially great for kids though), a 120 GB hard drive, and if you have a good TV, great graphics!! Also, one more thing it offers is a one month subscription to Xbox Live Gold! The 120 GB hard drive is excellent if you want to put your games directly on your hard drive for quicker loading, if you have get Rock Band and download a lot of songs (this tends to take up a lot of space), or if you like to download a lot of video's or other game add-ons. The HDMI cable lets you get the best graphics for your system and in fact a lot of games that are on both Xbox 360 AND PS3 will look better on the Xbox 360. I have noticed a lot of developers will make games on the 360 at 1080P where they are only 720P on the PS3. The 1 month subscription to Xbox Live Gold gives you a very good taste of the extra content you get for having this. Being able to play online with other gamers, download more content, and have access to extra videos for reviews and quick tips for achievements. Speaking of achievements the most addictive part of the Xbox 360 experience is just that. Each game you play on the system (for the Xbox 360, not the original Xbox) has different achievements that when you accomplish a certain thing in the game it unlocks and you get a predetermined amount of points. The amount of points you get per game adds up and this is what's called your Gamer score. This really does not do much for you except gives you bragging rights, but it is very fun and addictive. It gives games an element of replay value as well so you can get as many points as possible. Also, going online with your system you can add people to your friends list, chat via messaging or voice, compare gamer score, and invite to play games with you. Also, with this system, an Xbox live gold account, and a Netflix membership you can watch movies instantly on your TV through Netflix. This is an awesome service that I have used a lot. Currently you have to build your instant queue online through Netflix, but Microsoft is adding the ability to add movies to it through the Xbox 360 itself. Microsoft is also going to be adding a radio station that you can customize with music that you like and adding Facebook and Twitter functionality to their Xbox 360 dashboard. There is so much that you can do on this system other then playing games it is uncanny. A couple more things about this wonderful system and then you can go place your order for it (As if the above isn't enough). When you play the Xbox 360 you can create an Avatar that you can customize to your liking, this serves as your physical body while in the dashboard and there are even some games that you can play as your Avatar. The last thing is that you can download arcade games for a fee and play them. There are a lot of different games available and they release more every Tuesday (or Wednesday, I forget). This system is a great family system or a great system for adults as well; there are many games to choose from with all different ratings attached. After you buy it, I know you will enjoy hours and hours of fun filled days and nights!"

"I bought a xbox 360 elite and i was very happy to have it, and dont get me wrong i liked the console and it was fun and i had a lot of games but recently my console broke out of no where and it was kept in a good condition place. so no matter if its in a good place or not its going to break and 2 days after that 2 of my friends broke and even if you send it back, its going to break again, my friend sent his back 4 times. basically the console is junk and you need to buy a ps3. Also ps3's online is better than ever!!!!"

"From shooting hoops and watching 1080p movie, the Xbox 360 Elite console is what you need. Graphics are amazing and with Natal coming to our living room, this console will be the next generation of entertainment. Natal is a software that uses a camera that captures full body movement. Natal will be coming hopefully soon and will work on all types of xbox 360's. The only bad thing about this particular Xbox is the price. It is a little over board and can have a lot of money coming out of your pocket. Overall this is great xbox that can reach every one's needs."

"This console marks what i would say to be a next-gen style of gaming. It has just short of the ps3's graphics but they are still fantastic. The console is a nice looking machine that has some horsepower! This console has an extremely spacious hard drive. It also has a very nicely designed controller and a wide selction of great titles. It has about three times as more games only for the system than the ps3 does. It's online play is absoloutley amazing. The five dollars a month is more than worth it. almost all the titles for this system offer online play. The xbox 360 elite is a truly amazing console. The only drawbacks are that it is loud and comes with a brick sized power converter."

What's great about it: You have everything included in the Elite system compared to other systems that Microsoft released for the Xbox 360.

"The Xbox 360 Elite has all of the components you need. It plays original Xbox games without having to buy the separate component to play it. You have the Xbox Live headset and one Gold member trial card right in the package. I love the Xbox 360 Elite."

"overall i would give it perfecg 5's but from past expereinced w/ the red ring. i am dissappointed w/ 360s reliability. butttttt going forward, The xbox 360 is a great gaming machine, its great for online match making. I have sadly owned a lot as most of you know the red ring. As far as the elite though I'm very pleased with my new xbox. It runs smoothly and quietly plus I love the all black finish. One thing i will give you a tip on is don't let bestbuy d/l all the updates for 30 dollars because when you connect it to xbox live it will do that for you automatically I realized this after i got it home and asked for a refund and they woudln't give it to me, so i called customer service and recieved a 30 dollar credit. But this is a great system and great games.. also xbox live kills ps3's live.."

"i have had a 360 elite for a few months now and i am very happy with it! before i bought it i read, and heard about the red ring of death, and other problems 360's had, but microsoft must have did a good job fixing the issues, because mine has been great. also xbox live is better than any other online version of other gaming systems, and it only cost around $50-$60 for a years worth of xbox live. also the games are decently priced. the most new ones are a little on the high side, but after they are out for a few months they drop a good $20. the quality of the system itself is good, and has good graphics, especially if you use HD or HDMI on your tv. But overall its worth the price, better than any other gaming system!"

"I spent over a year debating on if I should pick up a Xbox 360 or a Wii.
I definitely don't regret purchasing the 360! Between the Pro (White) 360 and the Elite (Black) 360, I am glad I picked up the Elite. It includes a 120GB HDD which I save all of my games to-prolonging the life of my discs. Definitely a feature I am grateful for. Also, being able to rent and buy movies or tv shows off of Xbox Live is fantastic! No need to get off my lazy butt to rent a movie, just stream it off of Xbox Live!
Kung Fu Panda is actually a great game, and I had fun playing it over and over! Lego Indiana Jones, on the other hand, I had higher hopes for-wish it wasn't such a disappointment for me.
The only thing that I don't like about my 360 is that it heats up quite quickly, and has once given me red rings around the power button-Once I restarted the console, however, they disappeared and I haven't come across that problem since."

"I have grown up a playstation fan since the old playstation era, so I was a very playstation biased gamer until I broke down and bought a 360 arcade. I loved the system but it did break on me a yr after buying it, so I decided to upgrade myself to the elite. what I found for my 400 bucks was more than I thought I'd get. a sleek, sexy black system, massive 120gb removeable HDD, ethernet, composite, component and HDMI cables plus a matching black headset and wireless controller. when you boil that down you are getting a faster console and the controller, plus the hard drive for almost half off and the rest of the sutff for free the elite runs off a much more powerful and faster processer than the other 36s and the PS3, and while you have to pay for live use, the support is much better than say the free PSN on playstation 3. I think the only con I can find is the lack of a blu ray player, but that is minimal since the majority of home theater systems today include a blu ray dvd player. I have yet to run into problem with the console other than the occasional freezing, but that is a minor problem to such a great system. If you are an Hardcore gamer and need a system that runs good and looks incredible on an HD tv, look no further than the xbox. the only thing I hope the bring out in the future is a bigger hard drive (I download videos and game content so my hard drive is down to about 7 gigs) and releasing the xbox live headset in black as mine broke on me a few months back. bottom line is this. the 360 Elite blows the PS3 out of the water and there is no going back for me."

What's great about it: good graphics
What's not so great: scratches discs, freezes on the scratches, console is loud, no hd dvd playback

"Initially it started out as a great system. I was happy with it overall. Was always a little disappointed that it doesn't play HD or blueray DVD like the PS3, but oh well. I've had the system about 6 months, it now makes scratches all over my game discs, selectively, of course, not every disc. And even using a disc without scratches, the console still freezes in the middle of my game. Things I've noticed that cause this problem are anything from a small smudge on the edge of the disc where I grabbed it by the sides to put it on the tray to a single, nearly microscopic strand of microfiber off my couch. If you buy one, have plenty of air duster on hand is all I can tell you. I just traded mine off for a different console. Hopefully the PS3 won't grow into such a finicky pain in my neck."
