"I bought my 360 elite in feb of 08. About a week ago it started acting goofy. It kept freezing, time and time again. i tried the towel trick and it worked for about 6 days. aaing today i got the red ring of death but only one light turned red, so i guess i cant call it the RING of death. anyway i called the geek squad and in 5-10 days ill have a shipping label sent to me. then from what im told i will have a gift card sent to me for the amount that i payed for my 360 after they receive my 360.......god im gonna miss her! other than this prob the thing has worked great."

"Well I bought this product like around November 2007 so I have had it about a year and half and no problems I was very skeptical about this product because so many ppl were having problems and I have had both the ps1&ps2 and I couldnt afford the ps3 because it was way too much then....so I took my chances and grabbed the XBOX360 and have not looked back since. It looks great on my LCD HD TV with the HDMI cables all from BEST BUY, I love the graphics it was real easy to set up, online gaming is a PLUS games are AMAZING...I just dont like paying to pay online that kinda STINKS.....even though I bought the xbox360 I'm still going to get PS3 well because thats what I wanted at first and the Blu ray is terrific and I still LUV SONY!"

What's great about it: Its really easy to set up and has awesome graphics. And its nice that for the price, you also get games with the console
What's not so great: It only lasts for a while and than something breaks on it. Or the dreaded Red ring of death appears on it

"The Xbox 360 is a awesome gaming console and I prefer it over the PS3. But I hate the fact that almost all of my friends who have one and me, have encountered the "Red Ring of Death" on our machines. It causes you to ship off your machine to Microsoft and than wait forever to get it back and hopefully its fixed."

"I love this console. I got it 2 years ago, and its never let me down. I got the elite cuz it doesnt get the red ring, an it paid off. I love all the games for it, it has a wide variety. Get this instead of a ps3 cuz sony messed up with the ps3. the ps2 was way better"

What's great about it: awesome shiny black color, black controllers, huge hardrive, choice of games, hdmi cable, runs quieter than pro.
What's not so great: nothing at all!!!

"The x box 360 is the best game system hands down. I personally think the elite runs quieter than the pro x box 360 and faster. Its the same price as the ps3 but is way better. If you have a high def tv buy the elite because it comes with an hdmi cable!"

"I bought this elite a little over a year ago and i have had no problem what so ever. Its in a great ventilation area, where the system can properly breathe. I believe the reason have problems with there systems is because proper ventilation is not allowed. Regardless, i sold my first generation xbox to a friend and they havent had a problem either, again i take care of my systems and make sure not to break it.

I also own a playstation 3...:)"

What's great about it: Massive memory, good graphics
What's not so great: Extremely prone to breaking

"I have had my elite for a little under a year now and my graphics card is already broken, it does not even recognize that the HDMI cord is plugged in and I have only used it (the HDMI cord) about 4 times, and the regular component is fuzzy and smudged. My brother and law purchesed his Elite about 4 months ago and his system does not read any disks that he puts in, and this is right after he had to buy the elite because his regular 360 got the red ring of death after only a year. I could go on all day about how many of my friends have also been ripped off by this P.O.S.
To top this story off the Xbox customer service is the worst I have ever seen. My brother in law has called the company numerous times to order the box to ship the origional system and/or the Elite to have them repaired, and 4 months later still no box, still no response.

STAY AWAY FROM XBOX 360, GET A PS3
don't get sucked into this thinking that it wont happen to you, halo 3 isnt worth wasting 400 dollars"

"first off i want to say the service at best buy was amazing they tell you everything and once you get into the store there is about 5 employees that come up to you and ask if you need help and when you buy something they tell you what you are buying and are always busy huge selection now to the xbox i got it last christmas 07 and i played it for a lot about 2000 hours and it did not get and any red ring of death which is by the way where it is green ring where you green xbox light is flashes red it means your xbox is dead and it will never overheat that is for sure the graphics are amazing it has the biggest selection of games for family teens and adults there are a lot of games that are only for xbox like gears of war ,gears of war 2 and all the halos and much more i am just saying it is definetly worth the $400 lol when i got it it was $550 :("

What's great about it: Lots of functions, easy to use, tons of games, 3 year warranty.
What's not so great: Can be loud, new games are 60 dollars.

"Awesome user experience, I can watch streamed via internet netflix movies, I can also stream movies, pictures and music from my computer, and even connect my IPOD and listen to my songs during game play.

They seem to have thought of everything, my kids can use the console because of the parental controls in place that allow me to block anyone I don't feel comfortable with them talking to.

There are tons of great games out there for this console, many are priced at less than 30 dollars since this console has had great games since launch.
I got my 360 almost exactly one year ago in April, no Red Ring Of Death and it has ran flawlessly. The newer 360s are red ring free. I strongly advise picking this system up if you are looking for a inexpensive gaming platform that has a lot to offer."

What's great about it: Xbox Live! Graphics. Huge catalog of games
What's not so great: Completely unreliable. Proprietary components nickel and dime you. Your lucky if your console lasts more than a year.

"I am a moderate to heavy gamer. I have played the heck out of every system I have owned since the Atari, and I've owned a lot of systems. This system is the most unreliable, fragile system I have ever owned. Two hardware failures (red ring of death) in less than 20 months. I am sending in my second Elite as I write. My fault lies in me purchasing a 360 first and then accumulating games and other accessories. After the first one died, I bought a PS3. My PS3 game collection is small, but thanks to the quality of the 360, it will get bigger. If a game comes out on both consoles, I will try to get it on PS3 due to the fact that my 360 is a day to day disaster waiting to happen. Don't get into the microsoft trap by investing in this system. They made the $199 bare-bones Arcade version for a reason...it was meant to replace your dead system when your warrenties expire. That's why it doesn't come with any of the components your Pro's or Elite's come with! You just place your old cables and hard drives onto the Arcade and "all is well". At least that's what Microsoft wants you to think."

"The 360 works okay. Every time 1 get a new game, I can play it a couple different times but then it always comes up as unreadable disk. It makes me very angry. Movies too. In my room I don't have a dvd so I use the 360. Graphics are pretty good. But the HD player up in the living room is way better. The Graphics for playing games are awesome. I have COD4 and World at War, best graphics ever. I think they're better than PS3. This is definitely a good console to get."

"Besides getting the red ring of death after just over a year of heavy use, I have no complaints. I like the large hard drive and black case for integration with my home theatre. I subscribe to xbox live and use netflix with this and download games on a regular basis, You can get 5 or more arcade games for the price of 1 store bought game."

What's great about it: when the 360 is working my kids love it
What's not so great: the fact that I have to have it repairer 2-times a yearand now it is costing me money

"I bought the xbox360 over a year ago 3 months after I bought it had to be sent in to be repaired [red eye of death] after that we have had to call support two to three since to help reset box different problem. this past christmas I spent $300. on games for the system.(rock band, and dance pad + games) frist day out rockband would not load at frist so I took it back and got new one came home and that would not work once again called support they helped to get rockband working that lasted two weeks and it stopped loading call support again and they said we had to send it in for repair yet again.( wanted $100. dollors) wife told support that we would no be buying any the in games or anything that has to do with xbox again the said that they would give us a discount. Wife said ok but we woul not be able to send it in rightaway for we just went through christmas and did not have the funds they gave us a refrence no. and call when you are ready. Well we called and hit a wall .no more discount. Iwas talking to the peaple at work and it seems that the xbox360 is in for repairs with all the peaple I work with. so if you ard looking to buy a xbox, DON't buy one. Buy a wii noth but good reviews that is the next game after i get the xbox repaired its put away for good never to have a game bought for it again. and thats xboxs loss in sales just what they need in poor times when sales are down."

"I bought this Elite last year for Christmas it saves alot of money buying this for the harddrive and HDMI cords. It is the best system out there (too me). The only downside to this thing is the Red Ring of Light is the stuipediest thing ever you'll get it eventually so i would get the extra warranty but other than it is an amazing system."

"Son bought it for me (he is US Army) so I could use it and communicate with him on his system. Also he would have one here for visits. I had it up in the air flat as recommended not surrounded by anything. Last week I got the 2 rings of red and turned it off. Left it off 24hours and tried again. Instant 2 rings. Left off 24 more and boom 2 rings within 1 minute as well as system fan going hyper.

Its on its way for repari."
