What's great about it: The graphics are very good
What's not so great: Microsoft customer support is terrible

"I purchased this for my son for Christmas and during the first week the unit kept locking up. The store gladly exchanged the unit. We reinstalled the Gold membership we purchased but it would not activate. Contacted tech support and was advised the 12 month membership card was a one time use and could not be reused. Contacted Microsoft 3 times and always got same answer. Sent Microsoft a letter and never even got a response to my letter. We had Playstation which has much better support."

What's great about it: Best games, best online experience
What's not so great: Reliability (buy the Geek squad black tie protection)

"Best console on the market for "true gamers" i've owned every system......had my PS3 for about a month and 1/2 and sold it.......... just didn't compare to 360 experience, wii is a good console for young and old but not really a "gaming console" only downfall is the reliability of the 360 systems (i'm on my 3rd and it is acting up) but if you buy the Geek squad protection it's not really that big of a deal. The rewards of this system totally outweigh the risk"

What's great about it: online play keeps game going once u beat them
What's not so great: three lights but 0$ and 2 week back online

"dont read the bad ones this is great. controllers are not heavy, buy a charger and your fine, $50 to get way better online play ill pay twice that, ps3 are nice for blue ray player and the games that xbox cant have thats it. $4$ 360 is buy far better now they added netflix its perfect. the guy who had the bad to say should have checked the $ in his wallet then prices before he bought one dont hate cus your broke."

What's great about it: Great while it lasts
What's not so great: The control turns on and off even with new batteries. Freezes, too much money for add ons

"I loved my elite while it lasted. But i got it a year ago for christmas and it broke already. The graphics are great and everything worked fine, but now its flashing red and is giving problems. Plus for live you have to buy a live card, the connector for wifi, a second control, its just way to expensive. the ps3 has free live and comes with controllers that can be wired or wireless and can be charged, all for free. I think 360 has way beter graphics, but worth the money, i dont think so."

What's great about it: works for a coulpe of days
What's not so great: breaks, pay 4 online, controllers heavy, controllers waste battery and a never ending list

"I used to have an original Xbox. Decided to get the new 360. Elite is a great buy since you won't need to buy added hard drives and cables to get the full capabilities of the system. Would recommend extra controller and 12 month subscription to Xbox live though."

What's great about it: easy to set up graphics HD hdmi cable comes with everything you need !!!! everything
What's not so great: the A/V and hd cable that comes with it makes it imposible to hook the Xbox up to a separate audeo source

"WELL, THERE ARE NO GOOD GAMES AND YES IT HAS MORE THAN PS3 BUT THEY ARE NOT BETTER NOT BY A LONG SHOT. THEY HAVE HALO 3, GEARS 1 & 2, FABLE 2, MASS EFFECT, AND A FEW OTHERS BUT MOST GOOD ONES ARE MULTIPLATFORM.

THE GRAPHICS ARE PRETTY GOOD BUT NOT THE BEST, THE PS3 HAS PROVEN IT CAN HAVE BETTER QUALITY GAMES, JUST LOOK AT KILLZONE 2 AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN.

THE RED RING OF DEATH, THAT IS WHEN IT GOES FROM A GAMING CONSOLE TO A BRICK, AND IT HAPPENS WAY TOO MUCH EVEN WITH THE NEW "JASPER MOTHER BOARD", AND IT DOESNT MATTER WEATHER THE CONSOLE IS WHITE OR BLACK.

THE CONTROLLER IS NOTHING SPECIAL IT DOES NOT MAKE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE WHERE THE ANALOG STICKS ARE, IF ANYTHING IT FEELS STRANGE TO HAVE ONE HIGHER THAN THE OTHER.

IT IS HARD TO NAVIGATE THROUGH THE CONSOLE TO FIND THINGS, EVEN WITH THE NEW UPDATE, I LIKE ON THE PS3 THING ARE RIGHT WHERE YOU THINK THEY ARE, (LIKE A VIDEO WOULD BE UNDER THE "VIDEO" SECTION)

What's great about it: Large Hard Drive so you can install game discs onto it, XBOX Live, NetFlix Streaming Movies & TV Shows
What's not so great: You need to place the console where it can get good ventilation because it can get very hot.

"I absolutely love the 360 Elite. The hard drive is a major draw for getting this instead of a cheaper 360. With the latest Dashboard you can now install your games from the disc directly onto the hard drive. Each game is roughly 5-6GB's in size so you have plenty of room for your library! The advantage of installing the games to the hard drive are faster load times, extends the lifetime of the DVD player and eliminates noise associated with a spinning disc.

With XBOX Live you are now able to connect your NetFlix account to your 360 and stream movies and television shows right to your TV set. If you own an HDTV and can connect the Elite with HDMI cables you will be especially happy with the video quality of streaming movies as well as the amazing game graphics to begin with!

Parents: The 360 offers solid Parental Controls and also allows you to subscribe to Live with a pre-paid card so that you can avoid your credit card being billed without your consent when renewal time comes along.

What's not so great: RROD Problems!! BEWARE!! This will red ring sooner or later!!

"If i was gonna spend $399.99 on a game system it sure wouldnt be this! It would be a ps3! hands down. I repair these consoles for a living and i can tell you I have repaired over 300 of these just in my area!! Suffering from RROD, E74 Errors, Weak lasers in the drive, loosened heatsinks, Awful silicone thermal paste, Hard drive Failure, The list goes on! Plus sometimes certain interuptions in the electricity in your house causing them to short themselves causing a pretty ring ring! they all are junk no matter if the box is black, white, green etc...Do yourself a favor wait a little while longer before you decide, PS3 is coming with some incredible games for 2009! If not have fun sending it in for repair only to get back one thats gonna break again outside of the short warranty offered after they so call "fixed it" Then they make you pay 130.00 for repairs outside the warranty ! Thanks Bill Gates for All the money you have sent my way!!"

"well first of the people who hate on xbox 360 i have both xbox 360 and ps3 the xbox is what i play games on my ps3 is just a glorified blue ray player that is all i use it for plus the 360 outsold the ps3 3 to 1 that should tell u something and it cost sony 449 bucks to make a ps3 they dont even make money off of it"

What's great about it: Tons of Features, New parts, Tops any other console (including Arcade, Pro, PS3 etc.) Easily

"I love the xbox360. I owned a PS2, and I figured I would give xbox's a try over the PS3. I am completly satisfied. The xbox is so great. Here's everything you need to know:

Features:::::::::::::::::::::
The xbox360 has tons of features including instant movie rentals from Netflix, xbox live, tons of fun games, and a great marketplace with demos, trailers, previews, news, and game add-ons (maps, new updates, etc.)

Games::::::::::::::::::::::::
Great games such as Call of Duty World at War, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Midnight Club LA, Madden, all of which have great graphics, fun, and excellent on xbox live.

Memory:::::::::::::::::::::::
The 120gb hard drive on the elite is HUGE memory. I wouldn't reccomend this over any other xbox, unless you plan on storing music, pictures, movies, and games to your hard drive. I personally store my favorite games to my hard drive to help prevent over heating. When you store a game to the hard drive it runs the game, without spinning the disk, so your xbox produces no heat. This takes up about 8gb per game however, which is the only benefit of having a huge hard drive.

Price::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I personally feel the Elite is overpriced. I only bought the Elite because it is black, and I thought it looked cool (dumb move), but unless you plan on using the hard drive to its full potential, an xbox360 pro may be more your style.

Performance:::::::::::::::
The xbox 360 has great performance. The ONLY thing that might be conserning is the RROD (Red Ring Of Death) the RRoD can happen for for a number of different reasons:
Hardware failure(can be fixed if sent to microsoft, or returned to Best Buy)
Not hooked up correctly(easily fixed)
and most comonly OVERHEATING

Overheating is not very common with the Xbox 360 Elite, because it was designed with new chip that produces less heat, to help prevent overheating. The customers that experience overheating probably have their xbox horizontal, on a carpet, in a corner where there is no circulation allowed.

I experienced the RRoD myself, and i realized it was my fault for not allowing the xbox open space. You can prevent overheating by:::Keeping the xbox Veritcle, in an open space, and not on carpet, (I have mine on a book.) Luckily, I returned it to Best Buy, but if you send it to microsoft, you will recieve a 1 year warranty free.

Overall. I love the xbox360 elite and I would highly recommend it to anybody."

Everything in the box.

What's great about it: Better internal parts, bigger hard drive, black finish.
What's not so great: Price is a little steep, still has a chance of overheating, the D-pad is awful.

"The Xbox 360 Elite is truly an amazing machine. This one specifically has been equipped and built with better internal hardware than some of the previous 360s (e.g. Pro system, Arcade etc). It has the acclaimed "falcon" chip that drastically reduces the chance of overheating and the disc runner is a lot smoother and quieter. Not to mention the classy black finish.

Quick Notes:
Most of the games are 1080p HD capable.
Tons of Microsoft exclusive titles that are actually fun. (e.g. Gears of War, Fable, Left 4 Dead etc)
It has some of the best graphics known to console gaming.
The online play is immaculate. Currently one of the best available.
Parental controls let you keep a good filter over what your children can do and access.
Fully customizable console. From the software interface down to the the faceplate!
Has an "acheivement" system that keeps track of everything you accomplish is all of your games! (Big advantage over the PS3)
Ability to stream/download/rent full length movies, games, tv shows, in-game content, pictures, music and more.

If you're trying to decide between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 I'd say:
PS3 = Media lovers/Average gamers.
360 = Hardcore gamers that like a dash of media in their lives.
(Media meaning movies, music, tv shows, etc)
