What's not so great: Rings
"You can say what you want about the 360 / 360 elite.
But they have a big problem and even have their own name for it. "Ring of Death"
Only get it if your prepared to get it repaired 1-5 times."

What's great about it: price, really good graphics, best console mulitplayer, a lot of games!
"I got an XBOX 360 the day that they were sold. But the first ones had many problems. Mine didn't until early December of this year. I needed a new one and my friend recommended that I should try an Elite. So I bought this bundle.
When I got home it was really quiet (and remains that way) and is cool (temperature). Apparently Microsoft is using a new Motherboard code named "Jasper", that's what my XBoX has. It said that it remains more cool, more quiet, and is cheaper. Also it has a less chance of getting the Red Ring of Dead (RRD). I think that if you want a XBOX 360, go with the Elite."

"xbox 360 elite, great product from the microsoft empire after thanksgiving.i got mine. it works great and i have it in an open air environment for the fans sake.already cleaned it once and performs like a champ!!!! i recommend this to all gamers, belive me i was doubtful at first. i read all the reviews on this site before i purchased one.i am 42 years old and this system is for me not my kids, they have the premium system.if you don't own this system what are you waitibg for!!!!!!!!! GO GET IT NOW!!!!! thank you microsoft. p.s. this system is quite and it does have the falcon chip in it.always look at the date it was manufactured."

What's great about it: Graphics are great, online gaming, 120GB hard drive.
What's not so great: Can be loud at times...but updates have helped a lot on XBox Live
"The Elite is definately the best console of the XBox 360 line. Looks great and has many posotives about it. Online gaming is great and the choice of games for this console is second to none. If you are going to get a XBox 360 console then in my opinion you should also get a XBox Live Gold membership to go along with it. The online gaming is what makes XBox 360 consoles stand higher than the rest."

What's great about it: Easy to set up
What's not so great: Freezing and price
"We purchased 2 of these within a year!!!! Our last purchase was in Feb 2008 and it froze by August 2008. Our son is only allowed to play on the weekends and he does so for about 4-6 hours only on the weekend. Do you get it? He doesn't play it much. We purchased Best buy's replacement plan and that was the best investment we made. We returned them each time and they send you a gift card for the total amount. Unfortunately after investing so much money in games our son does not want to buy a PS3 instead we are getting him his 3rd Xbox 360 elite. This is it, if this one freezes then we will sell the games and buy the PS3, Microsoft needs to produce a better product with such a hefty price tag!"

"The elite worked for about a couple of months then it caught the rings. Only thing good is games. I would rather get ps3 because this is a waste of money luckily i got the warranty"

What's great about it: netflix, exclusive games and xbox live
What's not so great: RROD, unchargable controllers and no Blu-ray
"the xbox 360 elite has a mass storage of 120 gb but its not worth it. first of all i got the RROD in just 2 weeks of owning it. it gave me to complications with the amount of noise it makes when playing a game. Also you can't enjoy HD movies because there is no Blu-ray built in it and the worst part is that customer service is terrible when it comes to repairing the system. Overall i would totally recommend a playstation 3 because it offers so much more and now it has playstation home which totally beats xbox live now"

"DO NOT buy the X-Box Elite. I bought one for my son in Aug 2007. By January 2008 we had to ship it back for repairs of the deadly 3 red rings. Microsoft could NOT repair our original so they sent us another (and I would assume refurbished) one as a replacement. Starting in September it would start to overheat (2 rings) and my son would have to stop playing. Now its to the point that he can only play about an hour a day because it heats up and freezes. The response I got from Microsoft is that it is out of warrenty and I will have to pay for repairs. According to my 13 year old son this overheating is most promlematic with the elite. If you buy you should get the Best Buy extended warrenty."

"well i found that the x-box or laptop or anything that runs hot, runs hotter on wood furniture. or wood floors... a glass table keeps it much cool.. even metal.. so best bet to not get the ring of death is keep it way from the wall and off wood."

What's not so great: as said before the ring of death and the price is a bit big but much more room and a second fan
"It came with 2 games which are ok i am older and still found them interesting, but really the price of the games are fine not that much different then the ps3 games its new technology pay for what you want if not move on to a older model consoles. It dont have wireless with the system it self but if you got a laptop you can run the wireless of there look online for the steps if interested. it is really noisy but i hope your playing with a loud system to cover the noise."

"well, my xbox 360 halo 3 edition (20 GB) broke because of the red ring of death. luckily, i had the 3 year warrenty and they gave me the money i payed to buy anything in bestbuy. I decided, since i had too many games and bought call of duty: world at war, to buy another xbox. I got the elite and it has worked well so far. I do expect for it to get the red ring of death though. The 120 Gb is a great feature. I have certainly not wasted that.It is very loud though for people who do not have surround sound. It sounds like a car ready to drive away (then break down). the xbox 360 elite is not such a great deal for $400 sadly. Since the economy is in trouble, they are giving it the same price but adding Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda. not games i would enjoy, but if you have some young children, it is a great buy. You could also sell those two games at video ggame stores and they would pay you about $50 you could spend on a new game that is much, much better. overall the xbox 360 elite is great."

"I've had my elite since my old xbox360 died in 8 months ago. It's a great system if you are serious about gaming, you won't need to worry much at all about hard drive space and the black console and accessories do look really sharp. I did have one red ring of death scare about 3 months ago but I quickly reset the system and have not had any problems since."
