What's great about it: beautiful sound, durable finish, great action, easy to play, classy look
What's not so great: nothing.. might file down the nut a little.
I had been looking into a Jasmine for a cheap guitar with good sound quality that i could just sit on the roof and jam with, but my girlfriend who works at best buy asked around and researched for a few days and surprised me with this guitar on christmas eve. I am very impressed. I have never played an acoustic for less than a thousand that sounded or felt nearly this good. Maybe it was just made for my hands, but it just feels perfect. I have been playing it nonstop for about 48 hours now, and it hasn't lost its charm. The neck is just the right thickness and weight, with a satin finish rather than gloss like the rest of the body, which in combination with the beautiful cream binding around the fretboard makes it incredibly easy to play. The binding and accents on the body and headstock make it look really classy too. The sound is warm and bright, and every note in a six note chord stands out with sustain for days. I was even impressed with the factory set up, the action was nice, and the intonation is dead on. It doesn't have a pre-amp or anything, but that's fine with me, all it needs is a good condenser mic. Kudos Yamaha, I have played a lot of guitars, and even out of the guitars and basses I own, this has earned the spot at my right hand.. though i really feel bad moving the schecter further down.. Gibson's going to have to move to the closet.

What's great about it: sound, value for price, very nice finish.
What's not so great: none
I've resumed playing the guitar after a 10-year hiatus. I collected four electrics in the process. This is my first acoustic.
I like its sound. Strummed chords no problem, but it really shines when fingerpicked. This made me stop playing electric, because I can readily pick this up and once I start playing it's hard to stop.
All guitars need some kind of setup based on playing preferences. Out of the factory, the setup is very good. Action is nice, though I shaved off the saddle a bit. I'll probably file the nut slots a bit in the future, but for now it is ok.
Seems well built. The finish is very good. I already bumped this a few times, not a scratch made. A solid spruce top with rosewood B/S at this price is a very good value. The body is gloss, but the neck is satin finish, which I like,
Highly recommended...

What's great about it: Sound quality, overall look and feel and intonation is PERFECT
What's not so great: action is a little high so bar chords are hard to hold in the lower frets
Although I didnt buy my guitar at best buy, I simply couldnt resist reviewing this instrument. I have been playing guitar for over 25 years and have owned 5 guitars previous to this one: a cheap ovation knockoff, a 6 string fender, a 12 string fender, a Guild and a Martin. NONE of these sounded as sweet and perfect as this guitar.
I had an opportunity to buy a all solid Yamaha, and I didnt bite. I am NOW kicking myself as Yamaha makes AWESOME guitars. The intonation is perfect...The craftmanship is solid,,,the tunuing keys are as good as some guitars costing 4 times the price. I spent over a grand on my Martin and over $1,200 on my Guild. This guitar sounds MUCH better than they did at 1/4 of the price.
Bottom Line: Great guitar at entry level price. My next one will be a ALL solid Yamaha. The heck with the name brand. Yamaha got their start making pianos. Do the Math.
