I purchased this machine because I finally swore off another very popular brand due to lack of support. Lexmark has incorporated some very interesting features into this machine that have great potential. I have connected this machine to a small network and I dislike the network connectivity. At times it does not respond to print requests (wired and wireless), requiring turning the unit off and then on. Setup on multiple machines is not as easy as it should be. Multiple wireless setup is not permitted. With all of the good features, where is the print quality? It's very sub-standard. Duplexing however is great on such a small unit! Scan and fax are good. Software and single unit install are great for those who are not very computer savvy. I selected that I would not recommend this product. However, I would say that it's an okay machine solely with USB support, thus eliminating all of the networking issues. I would not recommend it to anyone who expects a quality print 3-in-1 machine with a network.
What's great about it: Duplexing, Easy Install for home use
What's not so great: limited connectivity, lock-ups, not very network friendly

While the unit is nice and does all the things you might want it to, it was very difficult to set up. You can't get the MAC address until after the unit is fully set up, it's not on the unit. Worked for 2½ hrs. to get it to finally connect and then the installation crashed the system, not once but twice. Tried on another system and it crashed that system also. Found a Brother MFC-845cw which is similar at a cheaper price and a dream to set up. Had all 4 computers hooked up and printing in less time than it took to get this unit on the network.
What's not so great: Crashed the system during program installation
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rough Waters for Vista Setup

I have two PCs, a desktop (XP) and a laptop (Vista). Installation of the softwar on the XP machine was flawless. But the software crashes EVERY TIME on the Vista machine. HP says it's the Gateway laptop. Gateway says it's the HP software. Doesn't matter ... I'm boxing it up and taking it back to the store in the morning. After 8 hours (5 with HP, 2 trying on my own, 1 with Gateway), I'm cooked and this printer is done!!
What's great about it: Nice printer
What's not so great: Can't load the operating software
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After several attempts to get my old HP printer working with a wireless print server I was never able to get it working with my desktop and my lap top at the same time. I purchased this printer to eliminate all the other equipment cluttering my home office and started the install process. Everything went very smoothly and worked the first time. The desk top and the laptop work flawlessly with this printer and I have freed up about 10 sq ft of office space. An excellent purchase.
What's great about it: Does everything well, Very easy to install
What's not so great: Nothing I can think of.
I would recommend this to a friend!
