It sounds bad when you read the cons I have left, but I would not have given 4 stars if the product did not do what it said. My best output is with glossy photo paper, although other paper works just fine. The colors are rich and vibrant; the clarity way above average. I belong to a camera group and many times I have been asked what company printed my pictures...its that good. The inks are relatively inexpensive, but each cartridge is limited to less than 50-8.5" X 11" prints on maximum. It does true edge to edge printing.
On the down side the software is difficult to maintain flexability when printing. There are times when I have had to reset the printer to get it to print full side to side prints. Sometimes the software seems to have a mind of its own. I am a poweruser and find this quite frustrating, but I do know what to do to get it back.
It produces quality prints of all sizes, better than any photo printer I have ever used. I have had other HP photosmart printers, Epson printers, and Canon printers and this one produces, by far, the best prints. I guess I can live with the few glitches to get the quality photos....
What's great about it: Ease of setup, extreme output, touch screen technology, inexpensive inks,
What's not so great: large footprint, software glitches, questionable user interface.

this is a great network printer that is very simple to set up with lots of options. i have always had bad luck with hp software, takes a long time to install and all, but overall does everything it should with great prints
What's great about it: very easy to set up, works great
What's not so great: hp software

I've only had my printer for about 8 months. During this time I've taken photos for birthday parties and themed parties. I have to take the printer to all of the parties that I take pictures. Everyone loves the picture quality that they get from a "regular printer". On the downside I've had to have the printer fixed twice in the 8 months that I've had it because it stopped printing 8x10's.
What's great about it: Picture Quality
What's not so great: Durability
I would recommend this to a friend!

The first print from this printer elicited a "WOW" from me. I have done wedding photography and remember how custom prints from pro labs looked - this is the same look! Haven't had it long enough to gauge longterm cost, but whatever it is, the quality of the prints is worth it!! If you want perfect prints, get this printer!

This printer is the best ever. Economical and vibrant color. this brings us photos that come close to the best photos in town. Changing only the color that is empty also is where the economical comes in . You won't be sorry to purchase this one.

Printer was priced well but very costly to replace ink. Other older HP printers use less ink and cost less to own. What you save in printer cost is more than made up in ink costs. Would not advise purchasing.

The new line of HP Photosmart printers are inferior in quality to the older models. One unit replaced within 2 weeks of purchase, 2nd unit "ink system failure" in 4 months with less than 100 copies printed.
HP NEVER again!
