What's great about it: Good for limited budgets
What's not so great: Not good for gaming
"Bought this card because I was on kind of a tight budget and wanted to upgrade from my Nvidia 7300 GT. It did up my Windows Index from 4.6 to 5.1 for gaming graphics and I can now run BF 2142 with all my settings maxed but all the other games I play hang alot more and there are more glitches. I would recommend this card for multi-media useres on a budget but deffinatly not for gamers."

Get a better card

What's great about it: relatively cheap now
What's not so great: not for gaming, weak
"This card can't handle today's games. It has bad framerate on every game released this year and last year. Don't let the large memory size (512 mb) fool you. A 256 mb card can do better. Make sure you get a better card that has DDR3, not DDR2. It has weak support on anti aliasing. This card gives only a 5.0 rating on the Windows Experience Index. The fan is also relatively small and looks flimsy. It has a relatively small size, able to fit in all motherboards. This card has a hard time handling direct x10 applications and even some direct x9 cards. You're better off paying a little bit more for a better card or getting it from a different company such as BFG."

What's great about it: Good for multimedia.
What's not so great: Not a gaming card, weak heatsink and fan. GPU gets very hot during gaming. Card did not come SLI ready.
"This card is not for gaming; unless you like running all your games on low settings. It's only DDR2; they've already come out with DDR4 on graphics cards. Check out tomshardware.com to research cards before you purchase."

What's great about it: Easy to install, works well for the price
What's not so great: None
"For the price, this is a great video card. Lets me run Bioshock on medium graphics, as smooth as silk. Plug and play, that's it - installation took me 15 minutes from start to finish, including running the software. Highly, highly recommended."

What's great about it: Easy installation
What's not so great: None yet
"I bought this card to install in my main computer and it was easy and painless. The graphics are great for what I do and it is very affordable. I will install another one like this in my second PC."

Ok card, not for the top line games

What's great about it: Easy install. Good graphics.
What's not so great: Not quite there for todays games.
"I bought this to replace my 7300 LE. I must say it was a huge step up. It handles Vista well and installation was a breeze. For gaming, this card can't do everything, that is if you set things to the max. For games like the Sims, or RTS type games, this card will be great for you. I haven't tried playing those games, but the 7300 LE handled them well, and I can only assume that this should dominate games like those. If you want to run a game like Bioshock maxed out, this isn't the card to get. Frame rate is OK, with Bioshock, but when you get by a lot of fire and/or water, it really slows down the frame rate. It feels like this card is almost there. If you can spend a little more, the 9600 gt oc is a great card. Everything is smooth and I'm really satisfied with the performance."

Solid card for the money

What's great about it: Can run virtually ANY game out there
What's not so great: Some of the newer directx10 games wont run on desired settings...
"I have this card with 256 dedicated megs on an intel quad core (2.4ghz/core) with 3mb ram. I can play Unreal Tournament 3 on near high settings no problem, Oblivion on highest settings, and Crysis on low:( This card will allow you to play virtually any game there is, especially those directx 10 games. This card works great with Vista's Aero, and you will be pleasantly surprised on how great these games will look on just 256 megs of video memory. You won't be able to play a lot of games on the highest settings (Hellgate, Timeshift, Crysis) but this is a fantastic card for the money, the best hands down."

What's great about it: great price will do the job
What's not so great: only one i can hear, the fan
"This card for the money is a winner, bottom line. Picked up a HP 8200 multi media pc and was very impressed with the system but i knew it lacked the guts to game with a 6150 se, and it did, could run my game FATE but chopp was the norm and lowering the res just made it look terrible. Put in the 8500 in 5 minutes up n running at full res wide sreen and the game looks and runs smooth. One other thing that is nice is that it took my base score in vista from a 3 to a 5.2 on the grahics rate scale. The fan you can hear but just crank up the sound, till i can get the 8800 this will do just fine."

What's great about it: Cheap, Quiet, games run smoothly
What's not so great: not very powerful
"I got this card because it was one of the cheapest cards available in the NVidia 8000 series, which has DX10 for vista users. All in all, this is a pretty good card. It can run pretty much all of The Orange Box at full resolution, play COD4 in medium res, and Bioshock at low-medium res. But if you want the best graphics, get a better card but if youre fine playing on lower resolutions, definitely get this."

What's great about it: Very easy install and gaming proformance!!!
What's not so great: NOTHING!!
"This was the fastest install of a card i have ever done!! The card greatly improved my system speed and looks. It plays most games to the max including FSX Deluxe Edition and Call of Duty 4-Modern Warfare!! This card is much better than my intergrated NVidia Geforce 6150 card."

What's great about it: Works great under XP Pro
What's not so great: Printer driver threw exception under Vista
"Under XP Pro this card is a star, fast, clear, great visual effects, most of what I use it for is multimedia (movies, tv). this card has made me realize just how sharp both my monitor and tv are.
This card, with it's memory takes a considerable amount of work off the cpu and allows this machine to fly. It is really worth the modest amount of money they are charging.
The same card on the same machine running Vista was a disaster, the driver threw an exception every time I started the machine, every time I printed, etc. My recommendation, stay with XP Pro, get this card and you'll have one fast, beautiful machine."

What's great about it: very fast and uses little power
What's not so great: None except for not being a 8800!!
"I just purchased a HP a6230n. It is a great computer except for the built in 6100 card. Plus my graphics score on the Vista was only 3.0 while the rest of the system was over 5. The other problem with the a6230n is that it uses only a 300 watt power supply. So, I needed a very good PCI-E 16 card for games that was 300 watts. The answer is this card. It uses only 300 watts, is very fast and jumped my graphics score to 5.0. Running the FSX X game is awesome."

What's great about it: Easy install and nice framerate
What's not so great: none noted so far
"Bought this card to upgrade an Acer Aspire e380 (a low end pc) I maxed out the ram to 4gigs and put this bad boy in and am now playing lag free online Halo/Halo 2. I went from a 2.7 rating via microsoft to a 5.1. Be realistic when you choose a vid card. If you want to play graphic rich games at high settings, your probably going to have to shell out a few more bucks. For now I'm happy with my purchase and the performance of the this card more than meets my expectations for the cost."

"Replaced an ATI Radeon x700 with this card. Bought Bioshock, which Bioshocked my x700. I just wanted to play the game without spending a fortune on a new card. Works great with my system Pentium 4 3.0, 2 MB RAM, and a 300W power supply. FYI BB website says power supply requirement is 400W. The box says 300W. The large Japenese electronic conglomerate that manufactured my computer cheaped out with a 295.4 W power supply, so I am crossing my fingers about the difference. (The x700 had the same 300W requirement and I have had that card in the computer for about three years, so I am probably ok) Installation on Windows XP easy if you load the drivers during the automatic recognition prompt from CD."

"I don't know what your talking about this card lagging, I replaced my 7300GT 512mb card with this one and i lagged a little with it on Bioshock with full graphics but this new card doesn't lag on any game I have played even C&C 3, RE4, Bioshock, Battlefeild 2142, or FEAR all cranked up to highest graphics. Plus you cant beat the DirectX 10 on this for the price this card is the best. Great card."
