Just another hard drive 08/05/2008

What's great about it: it's fast, and works
What's not so great: price and no info in box

"It's a good hard drive. So far no problems.
But the box didn't come with any instructions or anything, no cables nothing. just the hard drive and that's it. there is a sticker on the hard drive, my friend told me to take it off, i did. however, i don't think i was suppose to do that, it might have worked with it too.
the sticker was in the middle, on the silver/matel plate.
A simple sheet of paper with instruction would have helped a lot.
It's not hard to do this, just plug and play, works very good."

What's great about it: Fast and efficient
What's not so great: Could be less expensive

"This internal drive has thus far been a good investment. It has adequate, though not huge, memory capacity with a capability of storing thousands upon thousands of photos and music files, which is the primary reason for my purchase. It's ultra-quiet too. I can appreciate that since I often tire of the hum of the office environment.

Although I think a similar product could be found cheaper, the Hitachi brand has been faithful and reliable. So, I can't really complain about the price. And, it comes with a three year warranty."

What's great about it: Fast, quiet, and reliable

"This drive seems to be a very stable drive. Dumped a bunch of files on it while searching to make sure everything was where I wanted it during the process and it was great! Great performing drive. Seems faster then the stock 54k drive that was in the machine."

What's great about it: Good Storage for the Dollar
What's not so great: Did not come with the required jumper to configure as a slave drive...

"I bought this drive on an impulse while purchasing a memory upgrade for my HP laptop. My HP dv8225nr has a bay for a second hard drive. I've been using external hard drives for backups, video storage, and general downloads. This was a drag when I traveled since I could not bring my videos and other downloads with me.

Now that I've added 160-GB to the laptop, I can take it all with me. SWEET! Of course, the external hard drives are still great for storing backups. My only fuss was the lack of a jumper. This is not important if installing as a replacement "0" drive. But it's an issue if installing as the second drive. Once I found another jumper, I was in business after figuring out how to allocate and format the drive (I'm not a computer expert... just a little dangerous).

Everything runs great now and I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. :-)"

Exceeded expectations! 10/17/2007

What's great about it: Installed easily
What's not so great: none

"I purchased 2 of these drive yesterday to replace drives
in my daughter, and son in law's HP laptops. His old drive
had crashed hard.
I got the first drive installed and loaded with the default HP
software with no problems. I simply removed from the
box, and installed in the laptop! The HP cd's did the rest!
The drive is very quiet, and much faster than the original drive.
Very pleased with the results."

"I bought this hard drive to my old HP laptop, the old harddrive was copied to the new one by HP and it wroks very good the hard drive is very reliable. I bought mine for 129.99 and now the price is 99 which is a great offer."
