Worth every penny 04/28/2008

What's great about it: Phenomonal sound quality and imaging
What's not so great: Placement needs to be perfect

"I originally intended on spending a few hundred per speaker and getting something halfway decent. Then my wife and I listened to the Martin Logan's. Needless to say she and I were very impressed. The separation of sound that these provide allowed me to (temporarily) skip the center, rear and sub. These are not "thumping" speakers even with the built-in powered 8"sub in each speaker, but they provide enough tight bass that you can go without the sub until you have the money to add "The Abyss". I found that the imaging of these speakers allows you to skip the center channel as well. They really separate the voice when watching movies etc. Although I fully intend on adding both a sub and a center at a later date to really round out the optimum 3.1 home theater. Positioning these speakers is a little tricky, but the owners manual gives excellent tips on how to position them for optimum enjoyment. I am extatic with the sound quality, and am a Martin Logan customer for life. Do yourself a favor, and spend the extra money if possible. You will not be disappointed."

What's great about it: good look, better sound
What's not so great: tough sell on the wife

"Imaging and soundstage are pefect with the ESL speaker display from ML. Seating is a bit precise but it is worth the set up. The kid at best buy showed me a very easy way to set these speakers. Use a flashlight and shine it so you get a glare from the light about 30% in on the inner airframe. That made all the difference, after the installers set it all up for me I used the trick and the sound better than they did in the store. I also have a ELITE reciver and mirage center and surrounds, the entire system is perfect together."

Best Speaker I ever owned 12/20/2007

What's great about it: This speaker just plain cranks, it sounds perfect even at the highest levels your reciever will go
What's not so great: None

"If you want a speaker that performs but also looks amazing this is the right speaker. I run these with a Pioneer Elite receiver and It is amazing. Movies sound fantastic and gaming is amazing. Now I just need the rest of the surround sound speakers"

Electrostatic! Electro-fying 11/23/2007

What's great about it: Looks, sound quality The separation... every instrument is heard very clearly!
What's not so great: Placement. Takes a little while to set up, but man when its done its done.

"I've purchased the Martin Logan sources. The best set of speakers I've owned. From Bose 301's, 601's to the flagship the 901's. Infinity's SM150's I've had them all.
I'm so glad I purchased the M-Logan's Sorces. I find myself making excuses to stay home from doing anything with the family to spend more time with my M-Logans.
Oh! by the way I'm using a old Hafler amplifiers and Adcom preamp. An they still sound great"
