Unpacked my monitor, plugged it in and BAMM, instant enjoyment.
My system dual boots XP & Vista and it set up easily. Instead of Forte Manager i'm opting for Catylast Control Center but might change just to tinker. The picture is bright, excellent color without having to adjust temp or saturation. Crisp. No dead pixels which is always a good thing. AND on SALE. GO GET THIS!!!

I hooked it right up to my MacBook -- make sure you buy a DVI cable AND a DVI-to-miniDVI adapter -- and then ... was terribly disappointed by what I saw. The instructions are worthless, and the CD that was included was only for Windows.
Fortunately, it did not take much time to get the monitor adjusted and working well -- both text and graphics are coming through crisp and clear, and the colors are very accurate.
What a great value for the money -- I could buy THREE of these for the price of a single 23" Apple Cinema Display! For someone like me who uses it for a couple of hours of home-office work a day, and to watch an occasional DVD, it's an unbeatable deal. I would probably give it 5 stars if the stand was more versatile, and the instructions and DVD were more useful.
Fortunately, it did not take much time to get the monitor adjusted and working well -- both text and graphics are coming through crisp and clear, and the colors are very accurate.

When it comes to LCD products, Samsung and LG are the world leaders in both production and quality. I was hesitating between this and Samsung's 22" which has almost identical specs, but went with LG because I did not like Samsung's glossy frame (which I find it distracting). However, if you don't mind the glossy frame, I suggest you go with Samsung because it's more popular and they are the bigger and more experienced company. But don't be mistaken, this is a great monitor!!!
p.s. Best Buy always have weekly sales especially LCD monitors so when time is right, you can save $20-$50.
What's great about it: Among the best in picture quality.
What's not so great: No HDMI

I bought this lcd from bestbuy last month when it's on sale. i think it's a great deal based on its price and quality. First, i wanted to buy Samsung 2206 CW; but it's a little expensive at 359 $. When i saw this LG lcd on sale, i just went ahead and purchased it at 279 $.
What's great about it: Price is great, picture is wonderful.
What's not so great: no dvi cable included

I am rating this monitor a 3 based on my experience with two of these monitors. I purchased a L226WTQ 22" LG Flatscreen monitor for my spouse in Feb 07. Her pc is used mostly for watchin streaming TV shows and the picture was incredibly vibrant! My spouse knew I was quite impressed with the monitor so in March 07, she in turn bought me the same exact model for my pc which i use mostly for games. On Sep 07 I noticed high heat from the area where the power LED indicator was on the lower right and started turning off my monitor when not in use. It failed completely within a week. I sent it back to LG for a replacement. Her Monitor also failed within a week after mine. I sent hers back as well; in the meantime we used our older Xerox 19" flatscreens which works fine. It took about 3 months to get replacements back from LG; rcv;d in Jan 08. I noticed the new replacements are the same model but with a different startup screen "LG" logo...which is comforting figuring these are newer hardware models. They look GREAT!, but I hope they both last longer than their predecessors.
What's great about it: Bright and Vibrant Screen!
What's not so great: Moderate Heat, monitors failed within 8 months
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My husband talked me into buying a larger monitor for our office computer. When coming to Bestbuy.com this LG monitor for the 22" size is the best price around. We have had this for several days and I am now glad we got it. Picture quality is great, wide screen viewing is so much better and improved from what we had before. I would highly recommend buying this particular model.

I bought this monitor as a big upgrade from a 17" flat panel and I am SO glad that I paid the extra for this monitor! It has great response time, is crisp and clear, the widescreen is really nice, it is built well, has a nice big base so there will be no tipping over. I am amazed at how nice things look on this compared to other monitors I looked at! It even makes the Vista screen savers look so amazing I almost like to just sit and watch! You will not be sorry if you purchase this monitor!
I read other reviews about setting it up at first...I am not a computer tech just a fairly savvy user and I had NO problems whatsoever! You plug it in to the computer tower and into an outlet and your done! Easy as can be! Love this thing!

The 22" widescreen form factor is a huge step up from most other monitors that you'll appreciate immediately. Images and text on this monitor are very sharp with no ghosting in games. Everything looks great! There is some light bleed at the top and bottom of the screen, but this is only really noticeable when most of the screen is dark. The stand and bezel look very sharp as well, and will improve the look of any desk.
The dynamic contrast feature works by brightening and dimming the backlight of the monitor, which means that the monitor changes the brightness of the whole screen depending on the average brightness of the image displayed. This can result in over-bright and over-dark scenes, with (ironically) not enough contrast--not a huge deal, but it is noticeable and there is a 1-3 second lag for the brightness to adjust.
Overall, this is a great looking monitor with great image quality. If you are a stickler for high-quality movie playback, you may want to see this monitor in person before buying.
What's great about it: Good price; great picture w/ lots of adjustability; looks nice; you can switch power light off even when on
What's not so great: No DVI cable; noticeable light bleed; dynamic contrast not great; no height adjustment

This LCD puts a smile on my face everytime I turn it on. Since I bought my LG L226WTQ-BF my gaming has been taken me into a whole new world. Before you buy any 22" LCD make sure you take a good look at this one. I have seen many LCD monitors with better rating from various sources and then watched them perform side by side. Don't waste your money on the Big Boys, this is value and quality at a very high level. The cons I read about, a dead pixel (show me a brand that never has one) too bright, give me a break (that's not a problem, it's a simple adjustment) are isolated cases, they will replace it. Enjoy your LG 22", great choice.

I was considering a 24" widescreen LCD for my new main monitor, but thought I'd give this unit a try first. I am extremely glad I did, because for substantially less cash I am very satisfied. The height of the screen is 29.8cm (only 4 millimeters shorter than my 19" standard aspect-ratio LCD), while the width is 47.5cm (10.2 centimeters wider). The thin bezel around this new panel is just 1.5cm around the top and sides, and 2.5cm along the bottom. Track down an arm strong enough to support this thing (I bought the ERGOTRON 45-179-194 LX Desk Mount LCD Arm) and you're all set! Rotate this baby to portrait and it seems to go from the desktop to the ceiling. Nice work, LG!
What's great about it: Brightness, contrast, response time, thin bezel (frame)

I'll agree with the majority of the users who reviewed it: sweet monitor, especially for the price, but good lord, the documentation - printed and on CD - is just hideous. I'd expect this from a no-name product, but from LG it's something of a surprise and disappointment. (One has to wonder if this carries forth to other LG products.) The version of the CD that came with mine launched but wouldn't go anywhere. But finding and installing the drivers the hard way was no big deal (Windoze or Linux), and setup took minutes even without instructions. But my mom would have been calling Geek Squad before she had even plugged in the signal cable.
What's great about it: Great image, great look, great price
What's not so great: Ghastly documentation

I got one a while back and it works great. It was manufactured Feb. of '07. I just recently bought another, which was manufactured Dec. of '07, and it's not as good.
You would think identical monitors would look identical, but these don't. Side by side (even in Clone mode) the colors look different. I made color adjustments, but they still don't look the same, and images clearly look better on the first monitor.
Looking at an angle from the right, I can see a red-ish hue that I do not see when looking from the same angle of the first monitor.
There also seems to be a weird smell coming from the new one....almost like something is burning.
My video card (8800 GTS) also recognizes the old monitor as the L226WTQ, but the new one as the L226W.
Don't get me wrong folks, I love this monitor. The first one I got works great. I think I may have just found a defect (which happens when things are mass-produced). I will be taking this one in for an exchange.

I have been working more and more at home and decided therefore it was time to upgrade my monitor. Realizing that a 19" widescreen rendered about the same number of pixels as a 17" std monitor and had only a small amount of additional screen area, I went for this 22". The specs are outstanding (independent of price) and so far they have not disappointed. Gorgeous picture. Add in the price and this monitor is so far a winner! My only problem was my wife liked it so much that I had to buy another one for her computer :o).
Only complaint is that the document is lousy... that includes the installation instructions (including EZZoom software and drivers).

This is a great monitor for the price. 22 inches with 2ms response time and a 3000:1 contrast - you can't find a monitor with these features for the price offered. I spent a lot of time researching monitors and this was by far the one with the best size and features for a really good price. The only thing I was sort of dissapointed with was the instructions or really lack thereof.
What's great about it: Great picture, and size
What's not so great: Instruction manual is terrible!

I've long disliked LCD screens for their lag compared to good old CRTs. But when my CRT started to go, I decided I wanted the extra desk space that came with a flat screen. The 2ms response time of the LG Flatrons caught my eye, and I was sold. I went into a Best Buy store and found that the 19" Flatron had by far the best viewing angle of any LCD monitor on display.
I originally was looking at the 19", but Best Buy's deal put the 22" into my price range, so I bought it without having actually seen it in action. I was not disappointed. This is an excellent monitor whose image is virtually indistinguishable from a good-old CRT, but flat and wide.
I wish it had come with a DVI cable, as I'm currently trying to figure out which DVI cable to buy. But even with the analog VGA cable, the image is sharp and pretty. Support for 4:3 resolutions is also pretty middling and disappointing. A full-screen text-mode command prompt should not be stretched to fill the screen, yet there it is, and I can't seem to adjust it using the 4:3 support feature. As complaints go, however, this is pretty minor, and 4:3 support does work in many cases.
I am very happy with this monitor, and when the day comes to upgrade my TV to a flat HDTV, I will be starting my shopping by looking at LG.
What's great about it: Flatscreen with none of the old LCD lag, for a great price
What's not so great: No DVI cable packed-in, 720x400 images are stretched

have had a 20 in CRT monitor and thought it was time for change. After reviewing I found out that at the price this was the best 22 in monitor. Ran without a hitch and no dead pixels. Easy to set up and configure settings.
What's great about it: Price, resolution, quality, Apperence
What's not so great: Can see some grey in corners
