Best cordless phone

What's great about it: Initial charging is fast and easy to set up.
What's not so great: The only thing that is not good is when you use the speakerphone and the sound is not as loud as it should be.
"Good quality for the price paid. Had it for 1 month so far and had no problems. I've had other Panasonic models and the speakerphone function is very loud, on this model it is not as loud(especially for the elderly or hard of hearing), but I still can hear it. Overall I would recommend buying this phone."

What's great about it: ease of use, big buttons, battery type, clear sound, price, 3 phones, intercom, speakerphone
What's not so great: no speed dial in this era of having to dial 10 numbers every time
"I like the phone a lot. It was a good price. I't's easy to use. It has a lot of good features like big buttons, a speakerphone, and intercom. It is a also a green product with NiMH batteries not NiCd.
I really don't know about the duribility yet, because I just got it. But Panasonic products are usually pretty good."

What's great about it: Full features, reliable.
What's not so great: Relatively small LCD display.
"I was a little unsure about buying this product because I really only needed 2 phones, not 3. I really needed a good caller id feature. Since I have had good luck with Panasonic phones before, and after a bad experience with a Radio Shack and 2 ATT products, I decided to spend a little more on this item and see how it fared. The phone works very well. Range is decent, and there are a lot of *nice* features. The intercom is a convenient. Except for the display being a little smaller than desired, the product is very easy to use."

What's great about it: simplicity of use
What's not so great: Volume: doesn't go as loud as I would like; awkward to adjust the volume with the handset.
"This is a very good phone system for the price. I have not used all the functions, but the basics are fine. As stated earlier, the only fault I have found is volume (not as loud as I would like and is awkward to adjust using the handset)."

Worst Phone System I've Ever Had

What's not so great: Messed up after 5 mos
"I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase this system. It worked great for about 4 mos. The last month have been nothing but problems. First the ring is only 1/2 a ring then stops yet it is still ringing on the caller's end. My answering machine no longer picks up any calls. The caller ID is no longer working. Poor quality for what was paid. Expected more out of Panasonic but will no longer purchase anything from them again."

What's great about it: Everything!
What's not so great: Wall mount looks funny, main base not really meant to be put on the wall.
"I shopped around to find a replacement cordless phone and answering machine for my home. I found this panasonic, and it had everything I was looking for. The features are easy to use and set up, and what's great, is the clarity of sound. The feature that was great was the "shared phoneboook", which allows you to put your phonebook numbers and names in one handset, and it copies the information to the other ones, soooo cool. It comes with two extra handsets, that don't need a phone jack, and it is expandable to up to 6, pretty good. The main unit with the answering machine can be wall mounted, but it looks very strange, it comes out too far. I took it down and just placed the unit on the counter.I would recommend this phone to anyone looking to update their current home phone, and loves the extras!"

What's great about it: Big Buttons, No Antenna
What's not so great: Pathetic range, Lowest volume is TOO loud, No message counter on answer machine, Menu layout unintuitive
"We used to own a Sony 900Mhz DSS phone. It was awesome. We could take it anywhere in the house and anywhere outside. The "jog dial" made the menu a breeze to use. The phone would blink anytime there was a new call that we did not answer. I should mention that this was a stand alone phone. We used a separate answering machine. The buttons finally became hard to use (the "Talk" button became unresponsive).
So, we bought the Panasonic 6.0 DECT phone set. I was initially disappointed that the "remote" handsets came without a phone cord attachment. They depended solely on the base unit for communication. I assumed (incorrectly) that each handset would have its own phone line. The remote handsets use a base only as a means for charging; nothing else.
Our biggest disappointment so far is the range. It will NOT work in our bedroom. We live in a single story house. The old Sony never hiccuped anywhere on our property; including outside on an acre lot. Everything that I had read said that the 6.0 DECT had a huge range. I disagree.
The signal indicator has strength indicators next to it (increase the contrast and you can see them in the background). They are never illuminated! So, it is impossible to tell when you are losing signal strength. The only indication is a dropped call or the phone will not work.
I am 46 years old and my hearing is okay. The lowest volume on this phone is way too loud. I have to hold it away from my ear to hear. And the clarity is marginal at best. Once again, the old Sony was as clear as a bell and did not hurt my ears.
The menu layout is, in my opinion, counterintuative. You select Menu. You see arrows that point up and down. But, the menu is only selectable in a downward direction. So, why the up arrow?
The answering machine lacks a visible message counter. It merely blinks when there is a new message. Once you listen to the new message(s) the indicator stops flashing. The only way to determine the number of messages is to weed through the menu on a handset.
At the time that we bought this phone it had good reviews. We are extremely disappointed and we are looking for an old 900Mhz DSS phone which are rare (haven't found any yet).
The only good things about this phone are the big buttons. There is no external antenna to break off. The speakerphone works well on the handsets. I want to say it full duplex (talk and listen at same time)."

"I bought this set on-line about 6-8 months ago and I can no longer deal with the noise and interference that I hear whenever I am talking to anyone. The set-up was easy, and the usability is okay. However the lack of quiet on the line makes this a 1 star. Do not buy."

"Bought this phone on 4/11/09. After 3 months handset #2 lost contact with the base unit. Put it on the bast unit to charge and it still could not connect to the base unit, said it was too far away. After 8 hours it finally found the base unit again only to lose it after 5 minutes. Returned it today and the customer service person that waited on us had the same problem with handset #2. Otherwise the other 2 handsets worked great. Purchased another brand this time."

What's not so great: no backlight on key pad
"Good phone for the money. I live near Radio Towers and every other phone I have had, I would get interferance ranging from talk to music and lots of static. With this phone I have none of that.
There are several regular ring tones and 10 music tones to choose from.
The ONLY negatives are, there is no backlight on the keypad and adding numbers to the phone book does not add them to every handset until you "copy" them but it is easy once you follow the instructions.
All in all, it is a good phone for the money."

"I have lived in the same home for over 10 years. In that time I have purchased at least 5 different remote phones. Always had the same problem "RANGE" Not anymore. No other remote phone I have ever used would cover my entire home. I always lost connection just after the static kicked in. The range outside is just as impressive. The volume is fine and set up was easy. I have to admit I have had lots of practice with setting up phones. A 3 in durability for I have only owned this phone for a few days. Time will tell. AA batteries are a plus. If range is critical then this is the one. The only one. Model KX-TG1033."

"I have owned this set for over 6 months now and have been very pleased with it. The handsets hold a charge for a long time, I've held some 8+ hour conversations without the battery running low! It was easy to set up and I like that I can listen to my messages through any of the handsets, plus import and export phone numbers between them as well. Good sound quality and range too."

What's great about it: Good voice quality hearing
What's not so great: Very bad range - it lost signal even at 16 ft
"I replaced an old 2.4Ghz wireless phone with this new technology.
However the range is so bad I have to walk to the base to have the phone recover the signal.
Not sure this is caused by hard walls (not drywall), but again this is below expectations.
There should be something to burst signal somehow"

Really bad sound

"The usability of this system is good. However, the incredibly poor audio quality makes this system unusable. It actually drops calls much like my cell phone in a weak area. People complain that they cannot understand me when talking on the phone. This is the 4th Panasonic system I have owned and it is the wost sounding phone hands down. I will be exchanging this for another brand."

What's great about it: not tacky looking,
What's not so great: phone log doesn't automatically transfer
"I really like this phone. Most cell phones now look and feel so cheap and are very obtrusive OR are trying to look overly sleek. This one is simple. The keys are a good size and the handsets are simple and feel good in your hands. I don't use the voicemail, so I can't speak to it, but the only drawback is that you have to tell the phone to send a phone number you saved in a phone to the other handsets - I don't understand why it's not automatic."
