This air purifier worked great for the first 2 weeks. My asthma fits at night decreased after using it and it also helped to get rid of the cat litter smell. However, now the oscillator does not work properly, and I have only had the fan for a little over a month. It does not turn all the way like it used too, and it makes a low knocking noise as it struggles to turn. The fan itself is fairly quiet though. I still use it because it does help me breathe better and the knocking noise doesn't bother me when I sleep, but for the price I paid, I should have received a much better product.
What's great about it: clears the air
What's not so great: oscillator stopped working after a month
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the best. We have tried others from Sharper Image, and they all had to be replaced. The oscelating is great and it's very simple to clean. In fact, I'm now purchasing another one!!! We have 4 dogs, 2 cats and it does wonders for the air control, plus odor.
What's great about it: It really works well with dog odors

I originally bought this item in March 2009 and thankfully bought the extra coverage, because I've had to take it back for a new one 4 times. It seems like after a few months of use, the oscillating base will either squeak, click, knock or sound like a creaky door. Sometimes simply turning off the oscillate feature for an hour will solve the problem, but only for a short time.
Clearly, I should've paid a little more for a better purifier. I would NEVER recommend this to anybody!!!
What's great about it: cleans the air decently well
What's not so great: very noisy oscillating feature
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It seems that you have to shout to your family members just to have a conversation. A waste of my money because I dont even use it anymore. My husband is so upset with it because its so loud, we try to take it apart to fix the noise but it did not work and my husband a technician. DONT BUY THIS CR*P
What's great about it: it cleans the air, which is what it is suppose to do in the first place
What's not so great: this thing is so loud. It rattle all the time

Like other reviewers stated, after a while became a bit noisy. I took it apart to see what was causing the rattle. Didn't help. Really doesn't filter much from the air. Super disappointed! Buy another brand. Had a fan of theirs too, quit after a year? Honeywell is cheaply made and over priced.
What's great about it: Looks okay, that's it.
What's not so great: Doesn't do what it says. Buy the competition.

I noticed the air even smelled better after 1 day of usage but the minor rattling is annoying. Sometimes it's intermittent. I took it apart to no avail. I could not locate what was rattling.
I liked this but cannot recommend it if noise annoys you.
What's great about it: I have allergies and noticed a big difference when I wake up.
What's not so great: Was quiet at first but after 1 month it rattles. Very annoying.

Ive had this unit for about 2-3 weeks now and it has greatly reduced, among other things, the annoying dust in my family room. My girlfriends daughter suffers from asthma and other allergies, and her symptoms are also greatly reduced when she is here.... totally better than in the past. I suffer from mild allergies myself as well, and my symptoms have all but disappeared as well. I am very happy that I bought this air purifier.
What's great about it: controls dust, etc greatly
What's not so great: a little noisy sometimes
I would recommend this to a friend!

This thing is very poor quality, hard to clean from the back, & the inside of it gets very dusty and no way to clean.
What's great about it: Nothing really
What's not so great: Very difficult to replace the rear panel and the front panel can not be removed for cleaning.

Very good air purifier for the money. I find that it is pretty effective at removing the common airborne particles in my home. I have it in a large bedroom and have noticed that the amount of dust on my furniture has been reduced.
The only negative thing is the noise one of the fans makes. It almost sounds like its rubbing on something. I considered returning it but I just turn the power on and off and the noise stops.

All I know is I'm suffering less from my allergies. I keep one purifier in my bedroom, and I'm literally waking up with less significant allergy symptoms.
The second purifier is set-up centrally in my living room. Although the unit is not rated for a room its size, the air still smells and feels cleaner throughout the house. Better, any left over cat litter odor is now non existent.
I'd reccommend to anyone.
What's great about it: Easy set-up, oscillating, quiet, great price, performance
What's not so great: Nothing so far, knocking on wood!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This air purifier has been a great purchase for me. I have 2 dogs and it keeps pet hair down tremendously since I have been using it. I clean the filters about once every 2 weeks and the amount of stuff that comes out of them is phenominal. The filters are very easy to clean all you do is run them under tap water and shake them off to dry. It is very quiet even on the high fan speed and the oscillating feature makes a huge difference to me. When you pull it out of the box all you have to do is install the filters and plug it in, it is very easy. I would definitely recommend this air purifier.
What's great about it: Filters last forever, very quiet, oscillating feature.
What's not so great: none yet
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had this item for about a month, then a rattling occurred.
I cleaned the filters are instructed and there was really no dirt.
I think it's just blows air, didn't really clean, there was still the same amount if dust in the room.
Do not buy this product.
I switched it out for the IONIC PRO TURBO AIR PURIFIER, it cost a little more, but it's a much better product.
There isn't as much dust anymore.

This is very nice and cool device to use in your office or at home (in your children bedroom). it really works. I'm going to buy another one for my office.

I know some of you would dissagree with me, but this thing doesnt really clean anything. I started off buying a Lasko ion fan. this was a powerfull fan but no way to clean it ...enough said.
I then bought this product, for the price of this device it should have cleaned a lot better. I smoke in a small home. When I ran this device on high for three weeks it kinda stopped cleaning the air. It says the filter system doesnt need cleaned for 3 months. I know these devices needed to be kept clean in the beginning in a dirty enviroment... so i ceaned it three times in three weeks. I would wash the fileters as recommended. I then would filter the water through a paper towel using a funnel. I never got more then a smudge of dirt on the paper towel. I then read some reviews of reliable sources about hneywells IFD filter system. It said it needed regular cleaning. I did keep it clean
It also sai not to use really hot water, I didnt.
Now if I have build up of pollutions in a device such as this and am limited to luke warm water to clean it. Well the factor is the Ifd system for honey well is limited and in my smoking enviroment it lacked greatly.
I then bought a Ionic Pro Turbo, now remember I had already run a months worth of devices to clean the air.
In 24 hours I had to clean the Ionic Pro Turbo 2 times.
I woke this morning with clean air.
When i cleaned the Ionic Pro Turbo bot times i cIuld actualy see the build up, both on the device and really on the papaer towels I used. Build up so bad it was like tar and black gummy. So after a months time of other devices running 24/7 the Ionic Pro Turbo does what it says it will do. The Ionitc Pro Turbo was a few buck's cheaper then the Honeywell device as well! The Ionic Pro Turbo does the same thing and claims the same thing as Honeywell. As in it will kill germs ectra. It doesnt boast about being 10x cleaner, it proved it!
No I would not recommend this for the price. It is to high in price to fall so short of the intended goal.
The only reason I gave this 3 stars in Quality is because of the sturdy build.

Put this in office with smoker. Just minutes after smoking you can enter room and have no clue someone was smoking in there. Works great, easy to maintain (needs cleaning every couple months). Ocillation means it can cover the entire room quickly. Worth the money.
What's great about it: It works!, easy to clean, quiet

I purchased this because of allergies. There is a lot of wind and dust in our area and within a few hours there was a noticeable difference. I love the washable filter! It is quiet and very sleek looking. It has sure been great for the dust and pollen allergies.
