Very Light, Very Bright08/02/2008
By LoveTech
"This is an incredible, very light, very bright projector. No setup time required except to take it out of the box and point it at the wall. Comes with its own shoulder carry case, which is appreciated, because I saw reviews of other projectors that did not come with a case. I hooked up my computer to it and projected it in a sun-drenched office with the fluorescent lights on, and it was still bright as a television set. Therefore I look forward to giving presentations without dimming the lights. I expected to pay 300 more for a projector of this quality."

What's great about it: Bright clear picrture What's not so great: Needs more inputs
"I purchased this for a home theater, with 120" electric screen. Picture is outstanding, ther room doesnt need to be dark, but dark is better. I use DVD player, xbox360, and cable TV. I have no regrets on this purchase, but wish it had more inputs like HDMI"

Projector for Classroom Use02/10/2008
By SciTeacher93
What's great about it: brightness, remote, ease of use What's not so great: slight keystone affect
"I've used this for almost 6 months now and I love the brightness for my classroom - even on low power mode. I no longer have to turn the lights out to see it. The remote also allows me to run my PowerPoint presentation without needing a mouse. This means you can move among the students. The projector is also very easy to use right out of the box. My only con is that since I haven't been able to mount it, I need to adjust the keystone daily. At first the auto correction fixed the problem but after about 3 months I started noticing a slight (very slight) affect. My students don't notice or say anything but it bothers me a little. Overall, I'd say this was a great investment for my classroom."

Great bargain buy!02/03/2008

What's great about it: Large, bright, and clear image. Good value for money. What's not so great: Limited cords included. Only one set of AV plug-ins.
"Overall, this is a very good buy, especially if its your first projector. It's a great value for those looking for something under $1000. The image quality is perfect in a dark room, and still pretty good with light around. My only complaints are the installation issues. The instruction booklet is completely useless, and this item only comes with a plug to connect through a computer. You can use AV cables(those red, white, and yellow plugs), but it would have been nice if they were included. There's a built-in speaker that leaves much to be desired. Much better when hooked up to your own speakers. It's quite a chore to connect a video game system with surround sound, because there are very few plug-ins at the back of the projector. These complaints are only small annoyances. The affordable price of this item, and the quality of the image, makes it a strong bargain."

What's great about it: Crisp clear quality, great for shadow puppets also What's not so great: Annoying if projected from front and people or objects are in the way of the picture
"I just bought this item a few days ago. Ive been looking around for a good 6 months for a decent price with good quality picture. I have a vcr, dvd, xbox 360, and ps2, and my dish network hooked up to it with a system selector, and they all look amazing. I only have a 200 thread count King size bed sheet tacked to my wall and it still looks great. Screen size is about 140" diagonal. It was well worth it for a quick home theater and gaming area for under $1000.00. I would highly recommend this product to anyone."

Overall best Under a Grand10/15/2007

What's great about it: Blows Up Big From Short Distance, REAL OPTICAL Zoom, Bright, Sharp, Low Maintenance, Long Bulb Life What's not so great: No DVI or HDMI inputs, Remote sucks
"I bought this particular unit because it has high lumins, nice color, and it blows up big from a SHORT DISTANCE in my small dormroom. At like 8 feet, it goes to like 110 to 120 inches because it has an OPTICAL zoom, not digital zoom like in 400-600 dollar models. Music videos from itunes look amazing. I hook this up to my macbook pro and show people pictures, play movies, and even play the football games. i tivo tv shows on my mac and play it on the projector. Even my ipod video looks amazing hooked directly up. I've been surpised at how such low quality ipod videos seem to look amazing on this projector. Because the resolution is higher than most low end models, their isn't any screen door effect from more than 6 feet away blown up to 100 inches. The remote has keys all crammed together and exactly the same size which is annoying. You can crop and widescreen dvd which is useful. I wish it had dvi or hdmi, but vga is still impressive."

Home theater at a basement bargain price.09/17/2007
By revoredofrom Beverly Hills, CA
"I'll 'fess up. I'm a pro at assembling motley bunch of A/V components. But there was nothing shameful about picking up this puppy for the occasional enormo-screen display.
This upgrades my recently sold Sharp PowerLite predecessor, which at 900 lumens made for a thrilling experience once I turned this model on in a dark room. I didn't even have to change up the 100" screen. The throw is generous, and forgiving--and as with all PowerLites, this thing is user-friendly and durable.
Bright? Yes. HD compatible? Yes. Compact and stylish? Yes on the first, not so much on the second. In fact, the device has a serious drawback in that it downconverts HD, and does not provide native HD 1080 resolution.
So? The thing cost well under 1K. What more can you ask? This nicely-priced device suffices all of my audio visual vices! Enjoy."
