I installed the DB4 in my attic and ran 80 ft of RG6 cable to my TV. I get ABC, CBS, FOX, CW, and PBS. PBS and FOX give me the stronsgest signals at 97%, and the others are 50-60 %. Not bad considering the antenna is in my attic and I'm surrounded by mountains. Also, I noticed that althoiugh the ABC and PBS towers are located at 6 degees East of North, I had to position my antenna perpendicular to that - at nearly 90 degrees to get the best reception. This antenna is sensitive to direction.
I may put the antenna outside, but will try it inside for a few weeks first. It was very easy to install inside. I just used a piece of 2x2 wood as the mast.
What's great about it: Price and performance
What's not so great: sensitivity to pointing

I bought this to get our local stations -- it not only got the digital 2, 4, 6 & 7 but it also got the channels from PostFalls as well plus digital 39 that I didn't even know we had here.
I had a indoor one that worked 70% of the time and the signal always died when a plane flew over my house every 30 minutes. With this antenna the signal strengths are 70% and higher and no problems with planes flying over the house.
What's great about it: Good price
What's not so great: Little difficult to put together and mount with the J-bar.

I am about 35 miles from our local broadcast source and due to covenent restrictions needed to place this in my attic. I wasn't sure how this was going to work out. Right now, I still have the antenna setting on my entertainment center on the lower floor of my house - and haven't specifically directed the antenna at the broadcast towers. I have picked up the 5 or so channels that I was expecing about about 10 more that I wasn't. The signal comes through perfectly on all of the channels - better than some satellites and other cable lines that I have seen. At my previous home, I did not have attic space or roof access, so we have tried to go with some amplified bunny ears that constantly needed adjustment. This purchase is well worth the money!
What's great about it: Picks up everything. Great signal.
What's not so great: Not pretty to the eye. Obviously doesn't get cable and satellite channels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I highly recommend this product, it outperformed my expectations. Installed it at my mother-inlaws home in South Texas. Was to have received 17 channels, received 24! The digital clarity was phenomenal, could not believe my eyes! Being that it is multi-directional picks up all stations, excellent antenna.
What's great about it: Received more channels than Antenna.org. said it would
What's not so great: Climbing roof

This antenna is not for VHF. If you go to AntennasDirect website it lists that this antenna is UHF only. With the digital transition on 2-17 stations that were broadcasting thier Digital signal on UHF bands have reverted back to VHF. This antenna does not pick them up because it is a UHF ANTENNA! The website here states that it is a VHF/UHF antenna.
IT IS NOT!
IT IS UHF ONLY!
I recommend this only if you are trying to pick up UHF channels.
What's great about it: Picks up great reception.... ON UHF!
What's not so great: DOES NOT PICK UP VHF!

Purchased this antenna for my Dad in Louisiana. They are ~45 miles from Baton Rouge and N.O. After installation he can pick up most of the channels from BR and NO but not all. Channel 8 (FOX) still comes in and out at times. Installation was simple but getting the antenna set in the proper location (direction and height) was a half of a day process. Seems antenna is sensitive to direction and strangely enuff the height on the pole, as in higher is not always better.
Called into the Antennas Direct TAC support for suggestions. They recommenced the Clear Stream 2 over the DB4. They suggested running a 2nd VHF only antenna and using a combiner to get both signals on the same coax.
If you live close to the edge of the range of this antenna, check into the Clear Stream 2 antenna they offer. Be aware this Antenna performance peak is only for channels 9 and up (per the TAC support) channels 8 and lower are spotty if the TV stations are 35 miles or more away. This is not really spelled out by best buy or Antennas direct.
What's great about it: Works well for UHF channels
What's not so great: Does not pick up all channels in the VHF range

I installed this product in about half a day with the cable runs, roof mount, and custom cable work. I live in a heavy wooded area where the farthest broadcast station is 55 miles away. Right now with the antenna on the roof I have 26 channels with only one or two channels that have pixelization. This can be fixed with a pre-amp I plan to get later.
Current set-up is DB4 Antenna, Compression F fittings (philips), Quad Shield Coax cable (philips), Zenith Tuner (DTT900).
What's great about it: ease of installation, reception through trees, does its job
What's not so great: None

Best money I've spent in a while. The antenna is fantastic, but it needs to be connected to an outlet for the signal to come into.
Digital TV is phenomenal on this thing.
What's great about it: True Free HD
What's not so great: Needs power converter attached

when i purchased this antenna it was a shot in the dark. i went to 'antennaweb.com' and they suggested a much larger antenna w/preamp. i did not even get the db4 antenna mounted before i was getting all the stations in my area. i live about 20 miles south of tallahassee florida surrounded by pine trees. all the broadcast towers are from 30 miles to 45 miles away at differant angles. just holding the antenna above my head i was able to get cbs, nbc, abc, pbs and fox (15 channels total). if you know anything about hd, know this, dish, directv, and comcast all down convert the hd signal for bandwidth reasons. except for hddvd and bluray players, the only true hd signal you can get is from broadcast television. and boy what a beautiful picture it is. and it is all free.
What's great about it: easy to install
What's not so great: none

I live 50 miles away from where the signal is sent out, so I was a little skeptical to by it based on its 55 mile range. I couldn't be more happy. It picked up 23 channels in my area. I only have one complaint it doesn't come with the J-Bar. Other than that couldn't be happier.
I didn't buy the J-bar, someone I know had an old satellite J-Bar and they let me have it. Just a suggestion.
What's great about it: A very lightweight antenna. Picks up great.
What's not so great: Didn't come with the J-Bar.
