Beautiful Machine

What's great about it: Fits a king-size comforter
What's not so great: The on/off banging of the water sprayer in its attempts to use less water
"I love the size, the front-load, the energy efficiency. It has so many options that I haven't used half of them, but the ones I have are great. And it sure looks a heck of a lot better than my old sorry machine!"

Husband Knows Best

What's great about it: Uses much less water; clothes are cleaner and spin drier.
What's not so great: Water clean-out at bottom is awkward and a nuisance to use as suggested
"We recently purchased a new home, and the builder wanted to install a standard top load washer. After much encouragemnet from my husband, I agreed to take a builder's credit and purchase our own LG. The machine is sleek, quiet and most effecient in cleaning and energy usage. It almost looks like a piece of furniture rather than an appliance"

Great Washer
05/02/2008

What's great about it: Great performer, low water use, cheaper than the steam washers
What's not so great: Noisy on the faster spin cycles (has 5)
"Great looking machine. Great water saver. Cleans clothes very well although the longest cycle times are close to 2hrs. My uniforms get very dirty/greasy at work and this machine gets it all out. Quiet thru all cycle except spin...but the high speed spin pulls almost all water out of the clothes. Dry time on 6-8 pr of jeans is only 30-40min!"

Looks pretty:do not buy

What's great about it: looks nice
What's not so great: water leak
"This is such a pretty washer and the pedestal is great b/c you don't have to bend over. The storage in the pedestal is a good feature as well. Now about the actual washing machine...we had it for 6 days and it leaked water on the floor. I didn't expect a leak from a new washer;especially since it was installed by professionals. Also the machine sounded at times like it was going to take off on a flight mission. The walls in my husbands adjacent office shook and so did some of the pictures on the wall. That was actually kind of entertaining...but to be as expensive as the washer is we returned it for a Samsung b/c of the water leaking. We were thankful the leak occured before the 30 days had transpired for a return. Hopefully we will enjoy the VRT feature on the Samsung!"

What's great about it: saves energy and water. cleans clothes great
What's not so great: takes time to wash. roller jets a bit noisy at the beginning
"i initially went to the store to get the whirlpool duet washers. after seeing the size price and color i decided to get these. it really does conserve energy and water. it cleans clothes very well. the only thing is that the roller jets that spray the water are a bit noise in the beginning of the wash cycle. but it has more than enough good stuff to make up for that. one of the best things is its size."

A year of reliability

What's great about it: Beautiful design, nice controls, professional grade
What's not so great: cycles take a while, not as quiet as I would like
"I bought the washer a little over a year ago, and it has served me well. My family does about 2-3 loads of laundry per week, and I've had no breakdowns in that time. The washer has a self cleaning function where you run it empty, with bleach in the detergent drawer. You have to press a certain sequence of buttons, and it will run about 20 minutes. This is helpful, because if you run dirty loads (heavily soiled clothing, hair, etc), there sometimes is build up of debris around the front rubber gasket of the machine. I like the fun noises the machine makes (I believe all LG appliances do this), and honestly, I feel like it gives some personality. That, along with the unmatched beauty of the product (I got the set in black) make for a great looking washer. Highly recommended."

I like it a lot but......................

"We have had our LG washer/dryer for about a week. I love them but have a concern. On the rinse cycle my washer is so loud and it vibrates like crazy. This isn't normal is it? The spin is very quiet. Other than that this machine is amazing. My clothes come out smelling so fresh, even with using the little amount of detergent I use. I had to use so much more detergent in our old top loader."

What's great about it: wash's good but thats it
What's not so great: Leaking after only 2 weeks, vibration
"Looked up reviews found good reviews on this washer, bought it with the matching dryer and pedestals, they did install it as well so it was balanced. Then after 2 weeks noticed that after a load of laundry that was a puddle on the floor, come to find out after moving the washer it has been leaking from underneath the washer somehow since there were stains of where water dried up. So I am now exchanging it for a Whirlpool, very dissappointing, would not recommend, I tried to contact LG but no luck what so ever"

Happy Washing!!

What's great about it: You can put so much more in a load.. You can wash pillows and comforters with no problem.
What's not so great: Spendy and hence being able to fit more in a load means folding takes longer per load.
"We have had this set for about 3 weeks now.. My old top loader burned up on me. We were kinda worried to go to the front loader because of some of the scary reviews there are out there and the price. But we did it and I am so happy with this set. I cant say enough how much I love this washer and dryer. Its fun and you can wash anything. Its a very pretty set and I have not had any problems at all. There are 6 in my family and because of delivery we were with out a washer for 2 weeks. Needless to say I had a lot of laundry to try out my new set. I did 8 loads and was done..... I look for things to wash now.. From clothes to rugs, it does a great job... Your clothes smell great and are cleaner too.. GREAT SET!!"

What's great about it: very nice looking
What's not so great: cycles are tooo long
"pros: When I recieved my washer it was very pretty and to use was self explanatory. I was excited about the sanitary cycle for dish towels etc.. The delay button is great, it comes in handy when you are in and out all the time. cons: The actual time for a cycle to complete is twice as long as a regular top loader and the clothes are not impressively clean. you will have to get a pre treater for tuff stains bcuz the washer doesnt remove. overall: Nice machine for the bucks just don't set your hopes tooo high bcuz will be disappointed."

Great Washer

What's great about it: Quiet, energy efficient, cool looking controls
What's not so great: A little pricey
"This washer is really great. After owning it for 3 months it is still fun to do laundry. Those oversized items such as blankets and mattress pads are a breeze to wash and come out clean. I have even washed the outdoor market umbrella cover on delicate and it gets all the summer stuff off it. This washer has a sanitary cycle, so if you forget and leave the towels in for a few days and they smell, you can sanitze the heck out of them, and problem solved! Also there is a tub clean feature, and spin sense feature to prevent shaking, it senses the load to use less water. I have an electric hot water heater and now I can start a load of laundry and not worry about running out of hot water in the shower. It is a bit expensive, but I think it is worth it. Look for it on sale and it will make you feel better."

Best Purchase Ever

"This is the best money ever spent. We have gone through Maytag and Whirlpool washer and dryers over the years, and this one by far takes the cake. We learned quite a few things from our appliance man when he came for another job. For instance you only use approx. a tbls of concentrated laundry detergent, and even less bleach and softner. He did say however that mildew will become a problem on the inside if not taken care of. You can run a vinager rinse cycle. Instead of doing this, when I am completly done with my laundry I just leave the door opened slighlty so it can air dry a few hours. This by far is a small inconveinence considering the fantasitc job it does cleaning clothes. With 3 boys in football, baseball etc, I have yet to use "stain" removal products. I have never had to "redo" anything because they were not clean. Wonderful product!!!!!! One more thing they are VERY quiet. Well worth the extra money."

I wish it could be returned!

"We bought the LG Washer/Dryer combo with pedestal shortly after moving into our new house in May 2006. After almost 1 1/2 years of use, my wife would rather have a top loader without the myriad of features. It does use less water and "energy". It does NOT get the clothes clean and regularly leaves stains. The number ONE problem is the musty odor prevalent after washing and drying. Sometimes I cannot wear the clothes or dry with the towels. The washer constantly gets mildew on the gaskets, and, I think under the gaskets. I have to take bleach directly to the parts I can reach. The last time I did this, it didn't take care of the problem. I guess I missed some spots.
Unless you are willing to put up with stains and smells, I would reconsider this machine.
The Dryer "does" do an adequate job, but this is the first machine we've bought that if you don't take the clothes out immediately, they will wrinkle badly (even with the wrinkle guard). In addition, it sometimes dries too fast."

Best Washer Ever Purchased

"Love this washer. Very easy to use. Uses less laundry soap, has a delay start which I use very often. Can put laundry in, set time and then washes during the less peak energy times. Very energy efficient. There is a sanitize wash that I use for my towels, but can be used for baby clothing. A delicate wash for my handwash items, they come out perfect. The door opening is large enough to see inside without any difficulty. I love my washer and am so glad I spent the little extra money for it."

Best Washing Machine I've EVER Owned!!!!

"This was my first time purchasing a front-loading washing machine, and I'll never go back to a top-loader again!! This feature alone is wonderful, since you can clearly see the clothes being moved around, due to the absence of the agitator in the middle, as in most top-loading models. Another feature that I really LOVE about this is how extremely quiet it is when running! You really CAN sleep through it, as some ads have claimed, which I thought was wonderful. But who has time for a nap? I wanted to do more and more laundry! One of the most important and great features is the fact that it only uses enough water for the load size, so you're not wasting water. Every little bit helps, you know. I also love the many options I have to choose from when doing a load of laundry. The "SANITIZE" option came in very handy when one of my kids got sick. I really love everything about this washer, along with it's matching dryer. I would recommend it to everyone I know!!"
