I bought the floor model for half price. I am very happy with it. I picked it up, brought it home and hooked it up all within an hour. It works very well and you can barely here it. It's a great dryer.
What's great about it: Queit, dries very fast
What's not so great: Nothing

Very expensive repair after the price of the drum (300$), service call (100$) and labor (75$-100) for the replacement drum is around 500$$$$.
What's great about it: Worked great for 4 years
What's not so great: Drum cracked

The dryer worked great for two years then the drum cracked. The replacement is the same as the original drum which costs between $150 and $170. The service call and labor makes the repairs extremely expensive. The repair will probably need to be done again in two years since it is the same drum.

This is a good dryer if you are only buying the for the dryer. We got them as a set, and were very unhappy with the washer. so if you are looking for a step up from the style dryer this is a good one.
What's great about it: Better than our old one.

We bought both the washer and dryer. They are awesome. Did much research before we purchased. We are very happy with them! No problems at all so far. Dries very fast - clothes look great! Got the pedestals also.

Bought this dryer with the washer 2455 a month ago and so far so good. Dryer dries all the clothes and they are not overly hot or wrinkled as I have read in other reviews. This replaced an old amana that was taking at least an hour to dry a small load of clothes. This dryer dries 3 times that much in under 43 minutes. Has cut our laundry time down to a couple of hours once a week. Clothes are soft and static free. Dryer sensors are great and the flowsense is great if there is a blockage it lets you know. Nice stainless interior, lighted so you can see, quiet when running, nice end of cycle signal. After reading reviews and doing was research I was looking to buy the DLE2516 model but matching washer wasn't avail so we went to he next model up and glad we did. I didn't think that I needed all the bells and whistles when we were out looking but I have been using the delay start on the washer and it is nice waking up saturday morn and aving the first load ready for the dryer. It is nice to delay the last load to dry after we have left the kitchen for the night. I have used the timed dry to freshen a load if I was not able to get to the dry when it finished. Look into the steam models but I am not into putting clothes that may have already been worn back into the washer or dryer to freshen up, thats just plain gross!! If you have curtains or such that need to be freshen just add a dam towel in with them and you get the same results for about 200.00 less. We paid 1600.00 for the pair and hope to see a difference in the electric bill when it comes, we have well water so no difference there. Should be a nice selling feature too when we go to sell. We have been very pleased with the set. Will try to remember to update this review after more time has passed.

Great dryer with a large capacity. Overall does a great job, although you do have to learn it. We've had a few loads that needed a little extra time, but no big deal. If you get this with the LG WM2455HW washing machine, it's a dream pair. The washer does such a great job on the spin cycle, that this dryer runs 50% less time than our old dryer. Since the dryer uses the most energy, it's got to make a difference in our power bill soon.
What's great about it: Great capacity, short run time (though mainly due to the companion washer)
What's not so great: Nothing that I can think of

Bought dryer to replace my old gas dryer. Choose electric since I was unhappy with the way my gas one worked. Also matched up with new washer since I was stacking the units to save space. Dries clothes quickly. The rack dry is good for shoes when they get wet. The unit has a slight rumble but is still over all more quiet than my old units. Doesnt keep me awake at night if I run it just before bed.
What's great about it: Dries quickly
What's not so great: rumbles a little

We couldn't decide on gas or electric in the beginning, because we have had a gas unit for many years.
I'm glad we decided on the electric as our gas bill dropped significantly. This unit dries much quicker than
expected and is extremely quiet. the capacity is great!
We like the melody on both the dryer and washer to let you know when cycle is completed on both units rather than the buzzer. We again researched a lot of units on the market before choosing this unit and are very happy.

We really like the LG Dryer DLE5955W.
Equally importantly we are very satisfied with the service.
Our dryer would malfunction on the Flow Sensor Light.
The flow sensor bar showed two red bars. The service department with LG said that the 2 bars was okay; but Best Buy replaced the dryer with a new dryer. Best Buy wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the dryer. We had the manufactures warranty and the extended BEST BUY warranty.
The cycles are gentle on the drying - no more knots, creases etc. I even dry my delicates that I previously sent to the cleaners. (The LG washer does an excellent job too). The unit has adequate cycles to choose from, and the clothes dry in less time; when the load is done the dryer signals with a little melody rather than an obnoxious buzzer. It has an extra large drum which is more than adequate.
Who would think drying had come so far!!!

I went for this dryer because I have the matching washing machine and I wanted a matching set. I could have saved $600 with a cheaper dryer since this one offers no advantages. It does take 40-45 minutes and makes the clothes very hot. I don't find it to be gentle at all, so I try to use a gentler cycle. How many other bells and whistles does a person need in a dryer other than regular, perm press, and gentle? I haven't figured out how to use all the bling - no time and no need. But it works and it matches - I guess that might be worth the extra $$$.
What's great about it: Dries clothes
What's not so great: Expensive

We purchased this dryer three years ago. The motor already went out in the matching washer. The warranty covers parts, but not the outrageous labor fee. This dryer takes three cycles (three hours) to dry towels and at least two for everything else. It has done this from the start and in both of our homes, so it's not a problem on our end as LG suggested. The knob that you turn to choose settings stripped within the first year and we have to press buttons. The dryer is loud too.
What's great about it: Takes long time to dry, parts wear out
What's not so great: None
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this LG - 7.3 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Extra-Large Capacity Electric Dryer in January when I replaced an aging Kenmore Washer and Dryer pair. I have been very pleased with both the dryer and the matching washer.
The washer seems to remove more of the water during the spin cycle and the result is that the dryer seems to dry the clothes faster. I can do more loads in the same amount of time.
Recommendations: Take the time to carefully level the dryer. I spent about 45 minutes on the washer/dryer and they hardly vibrate at all.

I have both the LG washer and dryer of this model and love them both. The controls are easy to use and has many available features. I love that it comes with a drying rack so I can dry my 'unmentionables' discreetly.
It gets my clothes as dry or less dry as I want them. I also love the wrinkle-care feature since I sometimes forget about the clothes.
It has a great little song-like chime when the load is complete which is so much more appealing and pleasant than an annoying alarm buzz. My only complaint is that it is the same chime for the washer and the dryer so I'm not sure which one is done, but that is really no biggie.

LG washer & dryer both broke-down after 1 year of use, bought brand new. washer couldn't be fixed so LG replaced under waranty, cleans ok but makes the clothes smell musty if you don't leave the door open after a wash so that the remaining water can dry-out.
the dryer keeps shutting off the heat because it goes into protection mode if the computer senses a (even slight) blockage of the exhaust tube. I had the vent pipe cleaned and bought a brand new flex pipe and it still shut-down after a few more months of use. Would not recommend any LG appliance to anyone.
Hope you bought the extended warranty...

Love the front load LG washer Dryer. This is our second pair. You MUST get the pedestals. Makes them the right height for loading and unloading without having to bend over.
There is a button where you can save 1 set of programs. If there is a specific cycle you use more often, with certain temp and time settings, you can program this in so you just push the program button and the settings are recalled. A great improvement on past models.
Only complaint is with front load, you have to leave the washer door open after a wash cycle to dry out. Otherwise you could get a musty smell. Not a big deal, just something to consider.
If you get the pedestals, they are awesome for storage and they look great. Worth the extra cost if you ask me.

I was forced to buy a new dryer because my old one almost started a fire in my house. I was very leary about buying just any dryer. I was thrilled to find that this LG dryer had a flowsense monitor that detected if there was a lint blockage in the dryer vent. When the Best Buy team installed our dryer, they went to extreme measures to make sure it was safe - to the point they went under the house with my husband and cleared a huge blockage in our dryer vent! I can rest easy now knowing that my dryer actually monitors if lint has blocked my dryer vent to the outside. In addition, I can't believe how quickly my clothes are dried. My old dryers never worked this well in any house we've owned, new or old. WOW! I spend hardly any time doing laundry now, and my kids fight over who gets to help! I love having the space on top of the dryer to fold clothes. I'm glad I didn't buy the optional pedestal. There is nothing bad to say about this dryer or about Best Buy. Spend the extra money and get a safe, efficient, fun dryer now!
What's great about it: Quiet, many different heat settings, sanitize option, flowsense vent monitor, quick

Dries clothes very fast and quiet, They smell very clean and soft compared to my 3 yr old rattle trap. Delivered and setup the next day. Great product in my opinion.
