What's great about it: Overall very easy to use, LCD screen has decent color.
What's not so great: As with any camcorder this size weight is a factor for a extented time
I personally have always loved JVC Products, this one has everything a average person needs, I do not walk around to much with my camcorder and not without a tripod in tow.
Although it has a stablizer feature and it works well,I like to stand still and video my family that way I won't trip and fall again!.
I have always like how much you get for your dollar, don't spend your hard earn dollars on features you never use keep it simple. This has all you need.

What's great about it: great quality for the size
What's not so great: Does not take pictures
I chose to give this one a try after using an older model camcorder. I was very impressed and happy with my purchase. The way it fits in your palm is great. It is worth the money.

What's great about it: Easy to use, Good picture, Cool screen, Awesome price, Bat. lasts long
What's not so great: Doesn't take pictures
This is my first camcorder and I love it! It looks cool, has good picture, it lasts long. The list goes on! No light, but it has NightAilve Technology for shoting in low light conditions. The only thing I un-happy with, its that unlike most camcorders, it doesn't take pictures. But oh well, I can live with that. This is an exellent camcorder, and SOO easy to use. Highly Recomended!

What's not so great: buying tapes, place for battie
you need to buy the tapes. It can go though a lot of baning as in banging. you just need to read the guild book once. the battorie is wierd.

Excellent basic video camera. Control buttons are larger than on other recorders, which comes in handy if you have big hands.

What's great about it: great indoor and out
i got this amcorder for christmas and i have not stopped using it it is awsome outside and comes with everything u need except a computer hookup but it was ok cause it was inexpencive. i only had to look at the instructions oncee and it wass to find where the battery went.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: extremly easy to operate
What's not so great: no cord to transfer to computer (but they are inexpensive)
We just bought this camcorder yesterday and used it for a party last night. It was easier to operate than our digital camera. You can read the manual once and know everything about this camera. it has lots of different settings so u can record in black and white, sepia, etc. We origianlly thought that it also took still pictures but it doesnt. in all this is the best purchase I have made in years I would HIGHLY recomend buying it, however it doesnt come with tapes so dont make the same mistake I did and assume it does they also are inexpensive. Hope this helps

What's great about it: clear picture and easy to use
What's not so great: you have to have a firewire port to download to computer
This is a great camcorder for home movies and such, the only thing is that i didn't know that you have to have a firewire port in your computer, and i don't so i have to get one put in or buy a new computer... other than that, this is a great product

What's not so great: Records tapes, not DVDs
I bought this camera thinking it was "high tech" and recorded DVDs and I could use it for home DVDs and things. I was fairly wrong. It records Tapes, not DVDs! Who sells TAPES???!! I didn't even know they made cameras that record on tapes anymore. I guess I was wrong again! Oh well, I can live on tapes. But if you dont like Tapes- dont buy it!

What's great about it: inexpensive ,many features
What's not so great: menu setup night setting
I just brought this camcorder and normally being a bit of a nerd when it comes to electronic gizmos I jump right in operating said item but not this one the menu is not as intuitive as I would have liked but after reading the manual I picked it right up. The placement of the LCD is great but thats a personal preference some will love it others will hate it, just remember its always exposed (unlike most where the panel folds away)so get a camera bag.Most of the shooting settings are great but the night setting leaves a lot to be desired when on, although everything is brighter any movement of the camera causes motion blur.That being said I think thats a problem with most 680k sensor camcorders.

What's great about it: small, lightweight, simple to use, great features!
I bought this camcorder as a wedding gift for someone, and used it to film their wedding as well. Filming is easy. The sliding LCD screen makes it easy to see what you are filming if you tilt the camera at different angles. I was surprised to find firewire instead of just s-video, which was nice. The zoom is great, the picture quality is really nice, and overall its a good buy if you are looking for a nice camcorder without spending a small fortune.
I would recommend this to a friend!
