Well I have to say I should have stuck with Hoover.
Best Buy could not fix the bisselll pet vac we bought so they gave us credit for a new vacuum.
This Hoover's only issue. it is not light in weight.
It has great features like a long retractable cord, easy remove and empty large canister, on/off button right near your hand on top of the handle, standard vacuum accessories and very long flexable hose. One of my favorite features is a foot peddle that turns the brushes off just allowing the vacuum to work. This is great for hard floors. Many other vacuums do not have this and the dirt just is flung all around and not sucked up. Excellent value for the money. Overall I give this Hoover a grade of A.

I liked the product until I figured out the dust filter was not spinning as it should which meant I would have to clean it out manually, until one day it just stopped working. I took it to an authorized dealer for repair as it was under the warranty period but they stated only parts were covered and labor would cost me. Now its in vacuum heaven.
What's great about it: picks up great
What's not so great: dust filter does not move or

Okay, I really wanted a Dyson- who doesn't! But spending over $400 on a vacuum seemed a bit dramatic for my manhood. But from my previous purchase on a cheap vacuum (which failed miserably), I wanted to invest on a solid vacuum without going broke.
As mentioned, it has good suction and does well on my berber carpet. However, here are the cons:
-After the vacuum, the room is filled with this factory-like smell (but most vacuums do- I just open the windows for a few minutes).
-A bit heavy to carry around especially using the attachments to vacuum the stairs.
-You can see when the container is even 1/4 filled, the whole science behind WindTunnel cyclonic technology doesn't work well as dusts just sit around being too stuffy to spin around.
But overall, a solid performer.

I have had my vacuum for about 2 months.....I'm still surprised by how much better it cleans than my old Electrolux (and also much cheaper!) The only real draw back is the emptying of the dirt cup...once a month I wash everything down ....so the air smells better than just emptying the cup. other than that.....I'm really impressed by the value versus the cleaning power
What's great about it: suction better than electrolux
What's not so great: a little untidy to empty

honest review of a great machine

I just finished using my new Hoover for about the 6-7th time and I love it! Although it is somewhat heavy the weight is not a problem for me but it may be a problem for some. I love the 15 inch vacuuming path and how quiet it is.
- It was so quiet that I could hear my phone ring today. Imagine a vacuum so quiet that you can hear the wheels squeak (they don’t)
- I hold the power cord in my hand that’s pushing the machine and use the other to keep it out of the way. As for the rewinding of the wire read and head the instructions and hold the wire in your hands. (Common sense goes a long way)
- The dirt container goes in and out quite easily and the clip on the bottom makes it easy to dump and keeps it closed
- I was unable to dump my machine while using the hand held attachments until I went past the max extension of the hose (once again, common sense goes a long way.)
Overall, it’s a high quality machine that’s competes with Dyson for half the price. If you’re shopping for name go with Dyson. If you want the most bang for buck go with this machine.

I bought this vacuum, and the Hoover all terrain last night. I love these 2 machines!!! My carpet has never looked this good before. My blue carpet had faded, and now my carpet has a rich blue look to it.
My house also smells wonderful! You can tell that this Hoover was able to clean the carpets!!

I have been really impressed with this vacuum. It has very good performance for the $. There are no filters you have to replace, so that is a huge plus. This is much better than the other hoover Windtunnels. This has the lowest reach other than the Dyson Slim. You can really get low with this vacuum. This is such a well built vacuum. It doesn't have the suction of Dysons, but it is better than the rest that are at this price range. It is also a very easy to maintain vacuum. The other Windtunnels were much more messy than this one. The bruch on/off control can be done with your foot, so that is an awesome and convenient feature.
What's great about it: Price, Performance
What's not so great: Weight

Good but Not Great

While this vacuum does good performance wise, it lacks in some of its basic features. I bought this to replace a refurbished Dyson Animal that was in the process of losing it's suction (even went as far as to have lost enough suction to hold closed the waste bucket - had to hold it shut manually to keep from depositing the dirt back onto the carpet when going to empty it)
Pros
-Does much better with getting cat hair up than my Dyson
-Somewhat sturdy unit (although the squeaking of the plastic could lean this towards a con)
Cons
-The power cable receptable is too low to the ground - you'll CONSTANTLY be running over the cable, even when trying to hold it up with your other hand, and make sure that when you go to rewind it back in the unit, your feet are not anywhere near it, otherwise you'll get a nice smack by the plug against your foot/ankle
-dirt constantly bunches up (mainly carpet fuzz) in the back of the dirt container and is a pain to remove since most of the time you have to reach up to pull it out
-the dirt container doesn't easily go back into the unit - I've found the only way so far is to place in as best as possible then hit it (not hard) at the top of the container until you hear it click into place
-When using the handheld attachements, you can't pull the hose too far away, otherwise the entire vacuum will come crashing down to the floor - the center of gravity is way off kilter (my dyson would roll with you whenever you pulled too far on the hose)
-As I mentioned above, the substandard quality of build materials cause the unit to squeak, even with the lightest of touch.
Overall, I kinda wish I had gotten something else. I would much rather be able to use a unit on a trial basis before I actually buy it, considering alot of idiosyncrencies<sp?> are not found until you get the item home and start using it.

Dyson vs Hoover

I went into BB with the full intention of paying $500 for a Dyson vacuum but this one was sitting right next to it for 1/3 of the price. After comparing the two I could not figure out why the Dyson was that much more expensive. I can buy three Hoovers for the price of the Dyson. I am VERY happy with the Hoover as it has exceeded my expectations. It has a real long cord to it and is retractable – something the Dyson didn’t even have. With the money I saved I bought some Disney DVD’s for my daughter.
What's great about it: Long, retractable cord. On/Off button for beater bar.
What's not so great: None
