What's great about it: Easy access, runs quiet, fits small space, energy efficient,
What's not so great: flimsy crispers and meat tray, no ice tray in freezer, freezer drawers do not pull out as one
First let me say it took 2 months and 4 reschedules for this "special order" item to arrive after placing order. Best Buy will be hearing about this! Finally arrived today so following are very first impressions.
Things I really like about the fridge -- having the fridge section on top makes for easy access - that it is very energy efficient - $48/year cost to run - it is very quiet - has a very nice exterior finish - temperature controls are right where you can see them
Things I do not like about the fridge - crisper and meat pull outs are very flimsy - it comes with no ice tray in freezer - freezer baskets do not pull out as one -
One thing I have to say is that it seems like Kitchenaid has gone down in quality from what it once was - the fridge, a clean as a whistle white, arrived with the handle installed upside down so that two very shiny silver screws are visible. At first I thought installers forgot to put in plugs in to cover them. But in calling Kitchenaid, I learned there are no plugs. That led me to the manual where I made the discovery that the handle was installed upside down. Kitchenaid did confirm in looking at the same manual as I had that the handle was installed upside down. Long story short - the solution is for me to try to take out the screws and correctly install the handle. And if I have a problem they said to call them back.
What????? First, I have to ask, aren't these units inspected before leaving the factory? And second, the Kitchenaid of old would have had someone out immediately to take care of the problem. I know the screw issue is nit picky but where is the pride anymore and where is customer service?
So, here I am with mixed feelings about this purchase. Overall, I believe I will be happy with this fridge but let me say this is far from an excited buyer.
This product has... A quiet design, easy access
About me... looking for good quality and value

What's great about it: Frig and freezer design, small but roomy, size, sleek look,
What's not so great: Nothing!
I read about little popping noises it makes when it recycles. but these are not loud or bothersome. Also the reving up of the motor is noticeable, but both sounds are short lived. I did an exhaustive search for the perfect refrigerator that would have a bottom freezer with a pull out drawer and great frig design. This refrigerator is compact yet can hold more than my former bigger frig because of its design. The freezer is exceptional. It glides out beautifully. The compartments of the frig keep everything so well organized. This refreigerator is better than what I'd hoped for and it was worth the search. And if it matters to you, it look pretty sleek too!

Beautiful and quiet. On the small side, but that's what I needed.
