"The Braun 7 Series is truly an incredible electric shaving experience. Several years ago I purchased the entry-level model of self-cleaning electrics available through Braun and likely would have still been using it had my brother not borrowed and dropped it.
To avoid another large investment I went back to blade shaving for a few years, but finally grew weary of the expensive blades, lathering process, and stubble cleanup. I was going to get a 5 series, but after a bit of research I splurged for the 7 and I could not be happier. My first shave with it was like getting reacquainted with an old friend who spent the last couple of years improving their looks and conversational skills. Definitely the right choice to get the razor!
It is a little bit on the pricey side, but it is an investment which is well worth a few extra dollars. The razor is relatively quiet, feels great in-hand, and has a ton of great features. Most important, though, it delivers a very nice, clean, close, comfortable shave. Personally I have rather thick facial hair so I was forced to shave with the grain when using a blade. What this means for me is that the Braun actually delivers a closer shave than my Gillette Fusion!"

"If you can afford this razor, it is well worth the cost. It is the best electric razor my husband as ever had. My husband has been using a traditional razor because he has not found an electric razor that would shave him closely enough. I purchased this thinking that after it didn't work for my husband, we would give it to our 15 year old son. My son is dissapointed because my husband loves it !!!"

What's great about it: Best shave in a short time and stays smooth longer.

"This product really does perform like the commercials. It really cleans itself (that was my job) even the inside is clean. It doesn't burn my husband's neck when he shaves. He says it is the best thing I ever got him. He has not liked to shave and his beard grows fast. He shaves every day now and has quit complaining. A great product. (I haven't tried it yet, but I'm tempted)."

"After letting my face get use to the new shaver for a couple of weeks, it does the job great! I have always been a razor guy, but I got tired of paying $30 for new razors, so I went ahead and spent the money on a good electric shaver. The braun series 7 is really quite amazing. I didn't not know that an electric razor could shave so smoothly. I recommend this shaver to anyone. You have to remember that your face has to get use to the new shaver. It took about 3 weeks of shaving and it started working great. I will probably never go back to a razor!!"

What's great about it: Super Close Shave
What's not so great: A bit pricy
"This is the only electric I have ever used, I have always used a blade. I am deploying and wanted to pick up an electric to save my self some hassle in the desert. Unless you're shaving against the grain this will get you a closer shave. I was very surprised at the smoothness of my shave after using this. Especially with Lectric Shave
If you can afford this it is a great buy, I personally would say it is worth the money. The only issue I have with this are there are a couple parts on my neck that are difficult to get with this razor, but I have only been using it for about 3 weeks or so, so my face may still be adjusting, or just my technique may be a bit off. But other than that, this thing is awesome."

What's great about it: Glides comfortably over skin giving even shave that's not too too close.
What's not so great: Price a bit steep (but outperforms highly-priced competitors).
"I shave both face and head and have sensitive skin. I'm not fond of taking the time to lather up all over for a traditional shave, which is usually recommended for head-shaving. This electric vibrating razor is the first of many I've tried that does a repeatedly nice job on both face and head provided you splash on some electric pre-shave solution just prior to shaving and use the cleaning system as recommended afterwards. Before deciding to spend this much for a razor I had been through a number of other electric models including a competitor's high-end (and expensive) triple-header, not to mention a few non-"sonic" models made by this manufacturer. None have come close to the all around performance of this particular model."

Great shaver

What's great about it: Smooth shave, easy cleaning, versatile
What's not so great: awkward clipper.. weird design on this piece
"I am a long time Braun user, and this unit earns the "ultimate" title that it has been given. It is the best shave I have experienced from any of the at least 5 other Braun models I have used over the years. I waited a couple weeks to write this review, because it seemed too good to be true initially. Happy to report that I am just as happy today as I was the day I got it out of the box. The travel case is nice, it is a hard "clam shell" design, and it doesn't take up much room as it's just a bit larger than the shaving unit. The old travel cases were like lugging around a paper back novel. Great shave in less time than the other models as well. There is only one "best" and this is it!
It is also visually a nice model and looks good left out on the bathroom counter."

Braun's Best; Worth The Investment

"Have used electric razors for 28 years including most major brands. Became a Braun convert about 20 years ago. Job requires extensive travel, and at times I've owned two of the same Braun model; one for home use and one that stayed in the travel kit. Periodically used blade razors for a break, most recently Gillette Fusion Power, which results in the closest shave I've experienced.
When my last Braun failed, invested in the Series 7 (5 months ago) and was shocked but pleased to find the quality of the shave nearly that of the Fusion, but without the routine cuts and irritation of the Fusion/blade shave. Packaged with a single cartridge for the self cleaning feature, and replacements cost about $5-$6, last a month or longer, and provide you a razor that's clean and smells fresh each time you pick it up to shave. When traveling, it's impractical to transport the cleaning and charging base, so the head can be rinsed in hot water for cleaning, a great feature for users accustomed to cleaning electric shavers with brush only.
For blade users who expect immediate great results with this expensive product (or any electric shaver), patience is required. The face takes time to become accustomed to an electric shaver, and it takes time for the user to learn to achieve a great shave with an electric (just as it took all of us time to learn to successfully use a blade).
Absolutely the best electric shaver I've ever used, probably the best currently sold."

Overpriced, Horrible Shave

What's not so great: It does not shave irregular hairs, and causes more bumps from shaving
"I bought this electric shaver because i thought that it would be better then using a razor to shave my face. It took forever to shave and it still did not get all my hairs. I had little hairs all over the place that the shaver could not get. All under my neck was the hard place to get and even when i pressed hard it still did not get them. I going to get my money back. I thought spending some nice money on a nice shaver would make it so i would get a nice clean awesome shave however, that was not the case. It also caused more bumps then with a shaver."

What's not so great: Doesnt have a close shave, especially for my irregular patterened beard.
"This product is pretty good. I was so tired of lathering up, cleaning up a crazy mess after shaving. The problems I have with this shaver are that it doesn't do a very good job with a close shave. I have an irregular beard pattern, but I would have thought this automatic shaver would have taken care of that. Guess not. I have to spend a lot more time than I expected to make sure I get a relatively close shave. I love the fact that it does not irritate my skin, which is pretty sensitive. That is the reason why I give it 4 stars overall."

What a Razor

"I am not one to write review on products unless I really and truly like the product. That is why I am writing this about the Braun. I have used blades for most of life (45 yrs.). I used an electric razor back in the 70’s for a very short period. For whatever reason, l lately seems to cut myself on a regular basis. I am either hraling from a red mark, or healing from a cut, so I decided I wanted to try an electric razor again. I looked and read several articles before I purchased and decided to go with the Braun (although pricey). I found myself wanting to shave more regularly (especially when going out). This electric razor gives a very very close shave. I am not disappointed at all in the purchase of this product."

"I have used Norelco for years. I always got swelling on my neck. If I had to shave a second time in a day it would not be smooth and left welps on my neck. I researched this time to try and find the best razor. I decided to take a chance and spend the necessary money to purchase a Braun Pulsonic 9595 Series 7, the best according to them. I had already shaved this morning with the Norelc and decided to shave again tonight when I got the razor home with my new razor. It was fantastic!! This is undoubtably the best shave I have ever had. And it is closer and smoother than non electric. Where have you been Braun? I can't wait to shave again in the morning. I highly recommend this "shaving experience"."

Braun 9595 A Best Buy Electric Razor

"If you are an electric razor person and have tried other brands then I have to say step up to Braun! They are legendary and provide the best shaves money can buy. I have had a model 7570 for years that still is as good as the day I bought it. I decided to go to the new pulsonic technology and the 9595 was what I looked at. Found it for a great price and never regretted the buy even before it was received by me from the shipper. If you are looking to go to an electric razor then a few things will serve you to know. First, no razor that is electric will shave like a blade. Second, it will take a few years to recoup your investment due to initial startup cost of a quality electric razor. But after three weeks of using an electric your face adapts to the unit and it is all smooth sailing from that day on. No more messy creams or soap. I do suggest Williams Electric shave lotion to set your face up for a shave but other than that, it is all good. So go ahead and pull out the wallet, you won't be disappointed. The reviews that are negative all I have to say is those folks don't truly understand how an electric shaver is suppose to work. If you like regular razor closeness then stay away from an electric."

"Best shaver I have ever owned. While no electric shaver can match the closeness of a blade razor, this shaver is the closest yet. It glides very easy and the self cleaning unit, which I was skeptical of at first, is great. The shaver always smells fresh each morning when I shave. While the shaver is a bit noisy and it shaves by vibrating more than by cutting, this is well worth the extra money. I highly recommend this shaver."

Great shaver

"I have have used Braun shavers for more than 10 years now and this is my third. The previous shaver was purchased 6 years ago and was the top of the line model Braun offered at the time. It has served me well and it was time for a new one. I bought the Philips Norelco top of the line shaver at BestBuy for $220 purley because it looks great and is light and nimble. That shaver nearly ate my skin off (somewhat exagurate). I have a strong beardgrowth and my skin is not that sensitive. But this razor did not work for me. I bought the 9585 model and it works wonderfully. Shaves really close, not as close as a Fusion razor but nothing does and can not be expected, but still nevertheless it shaves very close. Ergonomics are good for holding it, trimmer is big enough and works well. The only this is that it is quiter than my old Braun but way more loud than the Philips I bought. This does not really bother me and had I not tried the Philips I would never have known the difference. Spend the money for this and you will have a great shaver."

"this is the most expense shaver i have seen and i thought since it ws so expensive, it would do a great job but that didnt work. it dont shave all my beard and i have to pass it like 50 times on the area to get something done. i got new ingrown hair since i used this. It seems to do alright in other parts of the body."

"I'm always on the lookout for a great electric shaver. I've been a fan of Braun for 20 years and have used whatever the "top of the line" shaver was. Prior to this one was using the first shaver with the "cleaning system" and liked it a lot. Been using this one for about 3 months now and have to say it's the best so far... a great shaver. It's like a magic carpet sliding over your face... no pulling, very smooth. It's a little pricey, but I don't mind spending a bit more for something I use every day. The difference btw this and others is worth the extra money. Wish they had a nice travel case to protect it while traveling. For travel, still use my "old" Braun but do miss this new one. Will be getting another one of these soon to keep in my travel kit. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"
