Got mine on "sale" at Xmas. For LCD of this type the picture and response is more than acceptable. Some minor light bleed and lacks the dynamic range of my prior 19" CRT, but that is a limitation inherent to any panel. More unsettling is that the view is biased towards the top of the screen, i.e., the brightest view is slightly peering down at the screen. I placed this on a pivot stand and when in portrait mode I sit with my nose directly accros from the top of the screen.

What's great about it: Great monitor for the price. You can't beat it.
What's not so great: No built in speakers, I should have paid more attention to the specs before purchasing.
I love the monitor, however I should have done more research and I would have known it had no built in speakers. Not only that, maybe I'm blind, but I don't see a place to hook up speakers to it. So that's the only complaint I have, other than that, it's great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: User Friendly Image Controlls that Automatically Adjust To User Prefernce
What's not so great: Flickers When Viewing Darker Images
I bought this monitor on sale during the holiday season and have been very satisfied so far. The image adjustment allows the user to pick from 5 options (User, Text, Standard, Graphics, Movie) that will automatically adjust the screen to what the user is currently doing on their computer. There is also a way to adjust the settings for each of the presets that will adjust the basic visual settings (brightness, tint, contrast, focus, temperature, etc) just like any other monitor. There is a flicker to the screen that stands out when viewing darker images (gets kinda irritating when viewing dark movies) but its only minor and you shouldn't have much of a problem with it when using it for day to day tasks. This monitor was an amazing buy at sale price, however, at full price it is an average monitor.

I was moving my 17" Dell monitor from my primary computer to another location, so I thought I'd replace it with a 22". I found the Acer 22" on sale. The specs compared positively with other much higher priced 22"ers & the customer comments were of high praise. So I picked one up & I must say the picture, colors, resolution met my expectations. What I did not anticipate was no viewing adjustments. Perhaps I had grown complacent with my Dell which tilted and rose or fell on its stand. My set up has me looking down on the screen so my view of my new Acer screen is that of a trapezoid. I either have to raise my monitor stand or stuff a book under the front of the existing stand to tilt it backwards in order to view the screen straight on.
So if you're thinking of getting this Acer 22", note that in your set up your eye level best be at 8" above the top of your monitor stand (the Acer screen is 16" high). Otherwise, you'll be looking at a trapezoid, too.

I upgraded to this monitor from an old ViewSonic 18" LCD. I like it except for one very annoying flaw. The color and contrast vary greatly with the viewing angle, especially vertically. Moving up or down makes the colors either very deep or washed out. I thought I could adjust it enough to not bother me but after two weeks of fiddling with all the controls I'm going to take it back. My old viewsonic never had this issue at all. What a disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this monitor when it was on sale for for $169.99 before taxes. I have had it now for about 3 weeks and I have had no problems with this monitior. To buy a 22 inch monitor at a 19 inch price, you can beat it. It you are looking for a cheap monitor or an upgrade this is the one. The screen is nice and big and you can see two documents side by side. I have so much more room now from my previous 19 inch monitor. I also has great picture for movies too! I watched a DVD of Batman the Dark Knight and it looked great on this screen! I still can't believe the price. A must buy, but only when on sale for such a great price!
Now here are a few negitives that some people might point out. There is no speakers with this monitor. I personally bought it for the display so I just use my computer speakers. The stand for the monitor is a little cheep and you cannot tilt monitor. But it does have features that allow you to mount on wall which is cool. Finally, I am sure there are monitors with better display and picture quality out there. But these are all minor to me. For the price, there is no other, I would buy this monitor again in a heartbeat! If you see it on sale again for $169.99, highly consider this monitor, you will not regret it!

I've tried 3 stores and they where all out then finally found a store that had 8 of them that day only so i was lucky! I was also lucky i had a gift card because after taxes it was $10 more so i was lucky there too! got it home & i was stunned at how big the screen was,& how easy it was to set up.the only down side is that there are no speakers but hey who really uses them? All in all im in love with this monitor best deal on the market!

Just picked it up today. I love it. Its nice and bright and there are preset setting for different programs like documents, movies & gaming. Also, the tilt & viewing angles are great. Great price too!

I've had this monitor for about 2 months now and I love it. I have'nt found anything wrong with it. I bought my son one for $400.00 and there is really no differents accept his tilts, but he does'nt use the tilt feature. The tilt feature is just something that can loosen over time and need repair!
If you're looking for a monitor, you really need to take a look at this one!!!

What's great about it: Easy set up, took all of 10 minutes from getting it out of the box.
I have no idea what happened to the cd that came with the monitor, know it was in the box, but was able to download the driver from Acers website, not that it needed it. Great monitor and love the real estate it provides. I do not get the glare from the over head light in the bedroom that my computer is set up in, not like on my old 10 year old 21 inch ancient heavy monitor. Got it at the $170.00 price and what a deal. I do not need nor can I afford those fancy glossy monitors. I am so impressed with this find.

I bought this monitor about 3 weeks ago after seeing it advertised for $169.99. What a deal and what a price....no sales tax in NH either! I was using a CRT paperweight for a monitor prior to this purchase. Easy to connect...I run Windows Vista. Computer detected without a problem although you may want to install the Acer driver...Windows will install a generic driver upon start-up. You might want to consider a dedicated DVI-I video card to enhance performance. I put an NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 512MB video card(<$100) in my PC and the graphics are awesome with no lock-ups. I am running it with a 300W power supply.

Got this monitor last year and it was great until one morning it stopped working. Sent it in under the online warranty repair which worked great except that they could not track my repair. Acer kept telling me that they were waiting to receive the unit for repair even after they'd repaired and returned it to me.
Unfortunately the repair was done poorly with the DVI port still not working. Having to redo repairs is apparently a common problem for Acer and they're trying to control the cost of it. To get authorized for Acer to pay the $45 to resend the monitor back to them I have to talk to technical support instead of customer service and the phone wait for technical support is two hours.
If you buy this monitor get the Best Buy warrantee so you don't have to hassle with Acer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Bargin Price, Sturdy design, Awesome pic quality
What's not so great: Not the most "modern" looking stand
I had hesitation about the 700 contrast level but was more then impressed with the color quality. Bright and clear. You do need to run the enclosed Acer software to get the best color settings FYI. I have another 19" wide sreen Acer monitor and am very happy with both. Only down fall is it does not have a "glossy" screen look. But still very viberent in image quality.
I got it on sale for 180. Other more expensive monitors did not have the rougeness and sturdy construction review I like to see.

THIS THING ROCKS! nice hd picture, looks great with vista, ( makes vista even more HD ) ALL OF MY GAMES LOOK SUPER EXTREMELY PERFECT!!!! now i am getting the best out of my new CPU ........................... IT ROCKS

this thing has a huge screen and light,slim, coming from a 19 inch screen crt monitor. it look's great and bright, lot's of color. great investment for the price and i'm really pleased. got it on sale at best buy and am very happy..

What's great about it: Thin, lightweight, nice design, crisp, clear, good contrast/color depth
What's not so great: mine has one dead pixel
Aside from the 1 dead pixel I found (luckily out of the normal field of viewing though, on the windows start bar in the corner) a decent quality monitor! For the price, it really cant be beat. Form factor is excellent. Widescreen works well with Windows Vista/XP. Images are not at all skewed in the monitors native resolution (1680x1050). Color depth and contrast are very impressive. Images are clean and crisp. Brightness is excellent and uniform throughout (no dark spots anywhere on the screen).
Great monitor for the price!
I would recommend this to a friend!

There is a $130 sale discount. I pay $170 plus sale tax.
This 22" monitor performs beautifully. It took me 5 minutes to hook it up. I only have to set the correct resolution 1680 x 1050 and it is ready to use.
I played DVD on my PC. It looks like a TV. It is beautiful for video. Internet viewing is excellent. It displays well all MS Word, xls and pdf files
The monitor does not have a swivel base and tilt. It does not have a height adjustment. There is no webcam or speaker built-in.
I have it less than a week, I can not comment about its reliability

For the price this monitor truely is a best buy. Similar monitors cost about $100 more. I've had many Acer monitors and I have never had a single problem with any of them. I'm glad I bought this one for the price I did as I was ready to buy another Acer from an online store for more money.
