"The LN-T4071 LCD Flat Panel TV looks great and has a really great picture. Installation was easy. The on-set controls are non-obtrusive. The remote works great. Guests who have seen the picture on the tv are amazed at the picture clarity and quality."

What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Glossy screen surface, but not even a con.
"I saved money for a while to buy a good TV and I've decided to go for this one. Absolutely no regrets. I'm very pick about eletronics and this TV was one of my best decisions. Greats colors, really easy to set up and no complications at all. HD or Blu-ray movies on 120hz features gives you an impression of looking through a window. Games look fantastic.
I thought the glossy screen look would be a problem but I was mistaken. Even with shades on during the day the image is awesome. Of course you can see minor reflections, but not a bcig deal at all.
A bit expensive if you compare with other same specifications TV, but totally worth it. You can't go wrong with it."

"This Samsung LCD HDTV provides a great picture which is almost unfilm like at first but then over time you get used to how clear everything is because at this resolution 25,000:1 you see it all!!! The sound is awesome too for a TV with virtual surround sound, I almost wished I hadn't spent so much money on a great sound system now. The price is a little steep since you can buy a 40 in lcd for $1,200 but hey you would not get this quality and remember a TV is something you hopefully have to live with for a very long time! Don't hesitate with this great Samsung LCD model. Simply one of the best!!!"

"I had researched lcd tvs for some time. I had other choices in mind. This Samsung TV was the best all around choice for me. It just fit where I need it to go. The 120hz processing makes movies there very best.

"I'm not a TV expert and I've never written a review before, but this TV was so awesome I just had to. It's my first HD set and I've had no problems. A lot of my friends are complaining about multiple problems w/ their LCD and Plasma TV's and I feel bad when I have no complaints to offer. Watching Blu Ray on it is an experience in itself! It also suprisingly has great sound."

"This TV works great in a room without direct sunlight. I really like the glossy finish, but if it is in a bright room prepare to be blinded by the glare.
The 120hz makes sitcoms in HD look like a high-school production but makes nature videos, sports, and anything that doesn't require a makeup artist to make the actors pretty, look amazing. I own three HD TVs (all Sammys); this one outshines the others. Compare to the 120Hz Sony, this should save a few hundred."

"Minor reflections in sunlight. This can be fixed by shades on your windows. I mounted mine in a room with a small window and the picture is awesome. 1.3 and QAM built in.

What's not so great: amp (120 hz) requires tweaking to work right
"i have been reading a ton of reviews with people that are having problems with amp and TBE( triple ball effect) let me tell you right now that it is generally source oriented. for my xbox 360 high def player i had to do alot of settings tweaking to get AMP to function properly with my player. once i did that the picture was flawless and i have a great eye for detail. what i did was set the input to scan so that the picture was displayed in its natural state from my high def player. when i set it to 16 by 9 it started to drop frames and what not. so anyways just play with the settings and see what works for you cause trust me i am a perfectionist and this tv is amazing in my eyes.
on another note my friend bought a XBR5 and i will be honest its beautiful picture but i would rather have the sammy anyday. the picture is very sharp on the sony but the black levels and the "clouding" problem with the tv would drive me nuts. another thing to note my samsung was made in jan of 2008 so i know that samsung has had less problems with these tvs with a production dec 2007 and over.
now game mode on the samsung is awesome but this is where i think the XBR5 shines. for movies i will say 71f is better (25000 to 1 contrast) but for games XBR5 is sharper and a little more crisp. now that is only by a very small margin i do have an eye for perfection. all in all you will not lose in buying either the sony or the sammy they are both amazing tvs and rated the best right now on the market per consumer reports by the way. for the price and the beautiful asthetics of the samsung as well as the amazing picture i would opt for samsung all day long."

USB Port is great touch for playing music or viewing digital photos like you've never seen them before! Firmware updates available though samsung, and loadable with USB. Excellent buy. "Samsung has outdone itself with the LN-T4071 model. This is the best 40 inch LCD HDTV on the market at this time. There are 2 other Samsung 40 inch models at lower prices, but this is one time that you really do get what you pay for. 1080p at its best. 3 HDMI connections. Full 178 degrees of viewing angle. 25000 to 1 contrast. The colors jump out at you and clarity has never been better than this."

"I purcahsed this TV September 07 and I was amazed by the picture quality when I was watching it at the Best Buy store. I recommed buying the Monster Cable Ultra 1000 to get the most out of this TV. The Monster Cable M series works good too. I also purchased the DirecTV HD box with the same cable and the HD channels are crystal clear. A slight flaw was the picture in piture(PIP) has an analog output. I connected a HD antenna and received no signal. Maybe I was doing something wrong but no big deal to me since I don't use PIP. Highly recommend the Protection plan just in case after reading some of the reviews. In conclusion I would highly recommend this TV and to buy it on the Best Buy website to pick up in the store since you will save some $."

"After a few weeks of researching LCD tvs,this is the TV to get when you want to consider trying the 120hz technology a try.Cheaper than most 120hz,although this is 1st generation for Samsung and it comes with its flaws like the so called Triple Ball Effect,motion blur that can sometimes get you dizzy if you focus on it, not to mention light leaking when watching SD channels.Most if not all LCDs do this anyway.For the price,this is a few $$ cheaper than a Sony would cost.I bought mine and i love it.Very good when paired with a PS3 for gaming,flawless.HD channels are very clear.If you have Time warner cable,there are known issues when using HDMI with a regular HD box.Just FYI."

"Bought the 42" Phillips Ambilight LCD 1080p. Well lets just say it lasted one night at my house. Motion blur was real bad..So I said to myself if you want somethng nice ,You might have to pay alittle extra for it..And let me tell you, It's well worth the extra money.The picture is unreal in HD. Watched the NY Ranger game last night on MSG HD, I thought I was at the game..Beautiful Picture. Also the 120Hz well worth it. No motion blur. Hooked up my Xbox 360, I'm speechless. It looks fantastic..The only thing that would be great is that it came in 42".."

"This Samsung 40' HDTV is a great buy, you really can't go wrong with this flat panel. I read the reviews for this tv and decided to buy it well as i could see no word or words can really express what this tv really has to offer. Its picture is amazing with the hdmi cables for xbox the blue ray on it is unreal. Yes regular cable is the best but who cares its awesome if you have a blue ray player or a game system with hdmi hookup it is unbelievable how awesome it is. I think it is a steal at the price they are selling it for go anywhere else and expect to pay a few more hundred for this exact tv. Buy from Bestbuy for this awesome Samsung tv, it will blow your mind."

"I have had this TV for a month now and let me tell you it is by far superior to anyother TV on the market. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. I have heard about people saying that it is blury and chances are the are using composite cords and not HDMI which improves the picture quality greatly. I think that this TV outperforms the Sony XBR series and even the Pioneer Plasma. The only regret that I have is that I didnt purchase the 52 inch set instead of the 40"

"I own three HDTVs and this was a Christmas present from my wife. This is by far the best LCD TV I had ever seen. The picture is just incredible and 120Hz makes a huge difference. I do have a little problem with the glare though because of the glossy screen but overall it is a must have LCD HDTV"
