What's great about it: Duplex, Easy to set up, works with mac and PC, fast, built-in networking
What's not so great: Some occassional paper bending; uses lots of power
I had to write in to offset the negative reviews here. I have had a few of these printers for over a year now and have been quite pleased. Networking was very easy to set up (something you can't always say for HP). Works like a champ with no fuss. Duplexing is great way to save on paper. Easy to replace toner (which lasts a long time for me). Quiet standby cycle (sitting right next to me now as I type). Small footprint.
May use a lot of power; Does dim the lights for a second when powering up...
Deserves a much higher overall rating than suggested here.

What's great about it: duplexing, no jams
What's not so great: died after less than a year
A small plastic piece inside the printer gave out, causing a loud grinding noise while trying (unsuccessfully) to feed paper. A search on the web indicated that it was almost impossible (and not worth the time) to fix. I wouldn't recommend this printer, and am disappointed in the reliability.

What's great about it: speed and print quality are good and it duplexes, saving paper
What's not so great: pricy and it died after about two years and only one new toner cartridge
This was a highly recommended printer for home office users; the print quality and speed were good, though not out of the ordinary. The duplexer and its networkablity (the main reasons that I bought this printer) worked flawlessly. It was easy to set up and was easy to get it to work with both of my computers. But the problem is that after I used it about 2 years, replacing the toner cartridge only once, it died an unrecoverable death (according to Brother). Since there is no repair facility within 100 miles of my location, the remaining value of my investment is a total loss. Brother costomer service was prompt and knowlegable but no cigar. Buyer beware.

What's great about it: Price, Quality, Durability
What's not so great: n/a
This printer was selected for a ticket printing application for a small commercial business.
Product is very duarble in daily use of 100-300 sheets. Toner last a long time. Paper feed is quick and does not jam. Great print quality.
This is an excellent choice for laser black and white printer in high demand for a small network of users.
Do not have any negetive issues on this machine as of date.

What's great about it: Prints fast!
What's not so great: None so far
I was tired of going through inkjet cartridges. I purchased this printer for home and school use. I sometimes have to bring out mini-books for school and this printer does the job! It is also networked so that other family members can also print to it. Love it and would recommend it!

What's great about it: Fast printing nice resolution
What's not so great: Long setup, jams often
If money was an issue i wouldnt recommend this printer, the ethernet port quit working less than a year after i purchsed it. It jams very very often, and now after two years wont feed paper.
