This Garmen is the greatest!

What's great about it: Very easy to set up, works great
What's not so great: Nothing
"I am a person who gets lost getting out of my own driveway. I turn right when I should turn left, etc. Two years ago I bought a car and paid extra for a navigation system. Not only is the navigation system hard to use, it seems to always give me the wrong directions! Since I work with the police and fire department I need to get to a certain address FAST and ACCURATELY. I get to where I am going with no problems and I love that the street names are spoken, instead of a voice saying "turn left". I love my Garmin!"

"Best in it's class, outstanding loading up, and also have a locking device password so no one else can use it but you. Mrs Mary talks very well with her street pronounciations."

"We purchased this GPS for a trip and have used it numerous times since with no trouble. I've read some reviews that maps cannot be updated but I was able to obtain the 2009 map update a few months ago by registering the device with Garmin. We found the device to be easy to use on the first try and have been extremely pleased with the product. Everyone I talked to before purchasing this device indicated that Garmin is the best and I have found that to be true. I have purchased a second one for my wife as a Christmas gift."

"i'm not a high tech person, but with this gps 260, it was easy to manipulate, even my 8 year old can do it. it has a loud volume and you can adjust it. voice is clear and crisp. you can use a stylus pen if you don't want the screen to be messy. i love this gps, my very first gps, garmin nuvi 260. the price and perfomance rolled into one.... nuvi 260!"

What's not so great: ABSOLUTELY NONE
"IF YOU'RE LIKE ME AND GET YOUR NORTH MIXED UP FROM YOUR SOUTH AND YOUR EAST MIXED UP FROM YOUR WEST, THIS IS THE PRODUCT FOR YOU. THE GARMIN NUVI 260 AND 260 (WIDE) IS THE BEST INVENTION SINCE THE PC COMPUTER. I USE TO DRED DRIVING TO PLACES THAT I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH BECAUSE, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, I ALWAYS GOT LOST. NOW I LOOK FORWARD TO DRIVING BECAUSE I HAVE THE SECURITY OF MY GARMIN GPS SYSTEM TO GET ME THERE WITHOUT GETTING LOST, NOT TO MENTION THE MONEY I NOW SAVE IN GAS."

Disappointing

What's great about it: great user interface
What's not so great: extremely slow GPS lock-on and response
"I bought this as an upgrade to an inexpensive Mio unit. It has the typical excellent Garmin user interface, but I'm very disappointed with the GPS performance. It has taken as long as 5 minutes to lock on and begin navigating on sunny days on an open road, and as long as 10 minutes on overcast days. It typically runs 30-50 yards behind when turning, which is a problem when there are multiple highway turnoffs, or splits on city streets. I would not buy this again."

What's great about it: Compact, portable and easy to use
What's not so great: It is extremely slow to acquire satelites.
"We keep this unit turned off and only turn it on when needed. If we forget to turn it on 10 minutes before we leave for a trip, we find ourselves staring at the screen waiting for it to acquire satelites for up to a full 5 minutes. Often, we end up finding our way before we can even input the data into the unit. It is disappointingly slow to get started."

What's great about it: Easy to use. reasonable price.
What's not so great: Map updates cost $69.00
"This is a great GPS unit. Has everything you need to get anywhere you want to go. Does not have all the extras you don't need like an MP3 player. Announces streets by name, something you don't want to be without. Has Points of Interest and much more. My only beef is Garmin only gives yuo 30 days of free map updates which they don't tell you ahead of time. Seems to me that for the price the map updates shuld be free as long as you own the unit or at a minimum for three years."

"I am not sure how we ever lived without it.
It is easy to program and use. It gives you options to go different routes. My husband is a truck driver and need truck routes and it gets him tow here he needs to go without getting lost. Then I can use it and program car routes that are easy for me.
Highly recommended."
