I am about to order this through the Best Buy Outlet if it is still for Sale by 2/20/09. I intend to test it out a lot and at the same time I am also buying a HDX 18.4 from BB which will be a back-Up and I will slowly Upgrade to 4 total for this and 4 extra for the 18.4. There is not a thing bad or sad for any of these and I wanted this the first time I heard and watched a Video about it Online but the Cost was not allowing me to buy it. So now "My Ship has come in!" Anyway this is the one and only PC for me to replace the Desktop I use another Brand name I will not say which due to Copyright situations and the fact I want this to be on the BB Web Site for you all to read. happy reading. :-)
What's great about it: THIS IS THE NUMBER 1 LAPTOP ION THE WORLD PEOPLE! I AM ABOUT TO GET.
What's not so great: THERE IS NOTHING EXCEPT FOR THE HEAVY PART OF THIS COMPUTER.

I have degenerative eyesight, but can still see with glasses, but computer screens are a problem. I thought I would try this to replace my 17" laptop (also an HP), and it is fantastic. I bumped the ram to 4 GIG and put 2x250GIG hard drives in, and reloaded the machine. It runs great, fast, and smooth. I love the display, the keyboard layout, and the style. The bluetooth and WiFi work great (I like the bluetooth mice), and the web-cam is easy to rotate for good range. I like the Vista Ultimate 64-bit OS (I guess I have gotten use to Vista) and so far, I have NO complaints about the computer.
It has an HD DVD burner/player, so don't be fooled into thinking it is a Blu-Ray. But, if you have some HD movies, you will love the way it plays. For the price you are getting from BestBuy, this once-3000$ notebook is a bargain at $1799.
In this economy, I say treat yourself to a great desktop replacement and start off the new year right!
What's great about it: Clear 20" display, very fast, easy to set up, does everything well
What's not so great: Not much, but does have 1 hung pixel!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have not found anything it wo't handle, and its a great price now.

I trully enjoyed the concept and design of this laptop, so I purchased one directly from HP site, costumized its configuration according to my needs.
But for my surprise, the screen presented some shadows and strange contrast areas, this demanded me to send the laptop for repair to HP. And the problem begins right at this moment: they have no competence to solve any problem, lacks the reliability to schedule a simple delivery of the repair box, estimated time of repair (one of the things they are keen to say was "we had some problems with our system that caused this delay. We are sorry for the inconvenience"). After a lot of pressure to make the computer arrive on time (and I trully needed that) the laptop came back to me WITH THE SAME SCREEN ISSUE and THEY ALSO INSTALLED A WRONG WINDOWS VISTA VERSION ON MY COMPUTER, making it a 3GB RAM instead of the original 4GB.
The problem is still unsolved, my one-year warranty will not be extended although my laptop in on their hands for six months now.
I do not recommend anyone to buy a HP product because of the experience I had and their lack of customer respect. I don't want anyone to have the same experience I had.
Best Buy, on the other hand, is an excellent place to shop, I trully like them, but buy another computer brand. HP DOESN'T WORTH YOUR MONEY.
What's great about it: Great Design, good product concept
What's not so great: HP Quality, HP Customer service

This is an excellent Laptop for many reasons, from performance, screen definition, gaming, many built-in features, working with high definition video creation programs, and etc.
What's great about it: Great screen size for a laptop that makes suitable for use in place of the standard workstation
What's not so great: Carrying weight for some individuals

reason number one would be supply and demand for LCD monitor which bring down the cost and making it affordable, and reason number two is, well I have no idea but this HP HDX Pavilion 20 inch gaming notebook comes with a remote, no idea on what it is for but it could be for a built in TV, some sort of home entertainment system. If the price is cheap, and processing power is plentiful. its great for flight simulator ultra high graphics.
What's great about it: It is a desktop that is portable like a notebook great for the home office and gaming.
What's not so great: It uses so much power it only has two hours of power

I love this laptop, but it's hardly a laptop. It's weight (15 lbs) and massive screen makes it difficult to lug around airports, but I did find the perfect roller/carrier on the HP website. Now I can easily roll it through the airport and fit it into the overhead compartment on the plane. It's huge display is beautiful and I have had no trouble with performance. I purchased it as my backup and travel choice, but I am seriously considering making it my fulltime work engine.
What's great about it: HUGE screen
What's not so great: A little difficult to travel with

The best laptop out there bar none... This laptop immediately jumps out at you with a HUGE 20.1" screen. The weight is something of an issue but not major cause you know what your getting into before you buy it. I would definitely recommend upgrading RAM more than 2 GB and video card from 256MB for a boost in gaming. Pass the word onto your friends about this one!!!!!
What's great about it: HUGE 20.1" Screen, 64 Bit Vista
What's not so great: Weight 15.4 lbs, Needs more RAM than 2 GB

This is the first laptop I have ever owned that I believe truly rivals desktop computers. Most laptops have to make some concessions to keep their size and weight down. While hardly a laptop at 15.5 pounds, this is a truly remarkable portable entertainment system with most of the power you will ever need to run any graphics-intensive applications. The 64-bit Vista is a better performer than the 32-bit version on the desktop that this system replaced. I have had no software compatability problems with any software I have installed on this system. The 4 speaker sound and sub-woofer are the best I have ever heard from a laptop. Battery life is above average with a 2 hour average, depending upon what you are doing. For all of its weight and processing capabilities, this system is extremely quiet and cool-running with very little heat buildup even when doing extended CPU-intensive operations.
I give this system 5 stars because it is clearly the best in its class and is a true dream come true. I do believe, for the price, it should have 4G RAM, 7200 RPM SATA drives and a quad-core processor.
What's great about it: A true portable entertainment center
What's not so great: For the price, should have 4G RAM, Quad Core processor

This Notebook is huge! It's really not mean't for traveling, but is an excellent replacement for a desktop. It has all the bells & whistles and I had no problem setting it up. To date all software has worked perfectly and I haven't had any issues with the new Vista system. It's very easy to use and very attractive to have displayed in my kitchen or livingroom. The screen is large and bright HD with a arm to tilt it back to your comfort level. The sound is amazing for a notebook. We have really enjoyed it so far, and will post again if we have any issues in the near future. I can't find a single thing bad to say about this notebook, and am very satisfied with it's performance.

When I first laid eyes on the HP I was amazed that they had finally put together a laptop with so many capabilities! This piece of heaven runs extremely fast along with its 21" screen that allows you to view movies with outstanding quality and open 2 full programs at the same time!It is great for a buisnessman looking for a laptop that will achieve more than any other device will!It is simply the Cadillac of Computers!Gamers will love the quality of games such as Crysis that is capable to run on Medium for all you gamers out there!I give this laptop 5 stars because it is simply amazing!
P.S When I tried to purchase this item in stores it is impossible the operator said that my best bet was to buy it online! By 1 week I had recieved mine!So I recommend this to you too but, when I last checked there were only 33 left at the warehouse! So hurry and get your hands on one of these beauties!

I asked for a laptop with the most gianormous screen on the market and got this large and lovely HP pavilion laptop with a 20" screen. Yep it's a little heavy, but there's nothing like opening it up and having a crowd of computer geeks automatically gather around and break out in a sweat of envy. I've loaded all kinds of photo shop and video editing and e-learning course development programs on this puppy and it doesn't bog down a bit. I thought it might run hotter than my 17" laptop, but in fact it does not; probably due to better heat distribution. I also do massive amounts of word processing and it's beyond wonderful to be able to open two full-size documents up side by side. I do transport this beasty with me and if you have the same intention I'd recommend getting the HP case for it that's a combo backpack/roller bag. If you try to use just a briefcase or shoulder satchel you'll also need the name of a good chiropractor. Remember: proper equipment prevents injury : )
What's great about it: Screen large enough and processor powerful enough for anything you'd like to do
What's not so great: little heavy

My 20.1 Inch Laptop dream has Finally came true!! Thanks to HP for making a brave move and putting it out on the market.
The Touch pad needs to be a different meterial, it's like gliding your finger on Glass, your finger gets smoochie if you're sweating just a bit. other wise it's a great laptop... and by the way... for this laptop you'd rather use an external mouse.
What's great about it: 20.1 Inch Screen, 2.2 Dual Core, and the Way the Screen is flipped.
What's not so great: Touch pad.

I purchased this HP laptop back in March and I love it. I definitely recommend this product to friends. I am currently a Computer Information Systems student I use it everyday. Best purchase I ever made. The only thing I need to say is that Vista OS is great; however, there are compatibility issues with some Microsoft 2003 products like Microsoft .Net Framework, so be advised. :)
