SynopsisThis collection of titles from the Resident Evil series is loaded with frights and delights for all fans of the Survival Horror genre. Experience the bloodcurdling action of the series' legendary legacy with three terrifying titles: Resident Evil: Outbreak, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and Resident Evil 4. Begin the saga with Resident Evil: Outbreak, which spans events from Resident Evil 1 through Resident Evil 3 and transforms the populace of Raccoon City into virus-infested zombies. If you dare, continue the fight with Resident Evil: Code Veronica X and play as the persistent Claire Redfield as she executes an exhaustive search for her missing brother and battles bio-hazard mutated creatures. Conclude with Resident Evil 4, in which you take the role of Leon S. Kennedy as he investigates the abduction of the President's daughter and ends up in a mysterious European location where unimaginable horrors await. From the very beginnings of Umbrella Corp's corruption to more recently unfolding dramas, this collection takes you through intense storylines and realistic graphics that weren't meant for the squeamish. Take in all the underhanded corporate plotting, genetic mutation and heart-pounding action you can with this trio of gripping titles.

What's great about it: Resident Evil 4
What's not so great: Code Veronica X,RE Outbreak
Since RE4 is going to be the most played game out of the collection I would recommend just getting RE4 instead of this collection.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: shooting blood thirsty zombies
What's not so great: nothing at all buddy
Resident evil outbreak: This game is fantastic man. In the beginning of the game you start off sitting at a bar having a beer but then all of a sudden heres the scary part a BUNCH of zombies breaks the window, then tackles the door down and starts eating everybody in the bar one by one, one after another just chewing human bodies like a piece of steak and human blood scattered all over the floor and walls, that cinema scene was excellent. The whole game itself is superb man but it was so easy to beat even at hard level. Took me about 1 week in a half to beat it which means of course I pretty much played none stop.
Resident evil Veronica: This game is not so much all that if you know what I mean. The whole game was just figuring out clues and finding missing pieces to solve puzzles and solving riddles, finding keys to unlock certain doors kind of like an RPG. There wasnt enough zombies in the game to shoot, you can pretty much just run right passed them of course to do that means you'd be able to save ammunition (not to many people know about this secret).
Resident evil 4: This game is never the less amazingly terrific but Unlike the other zombies in other resident evil titles where they actually eat you and devour you , these zombies werent really zombies but people with a living parasite living inside there bodies and controlling there minds to kill other people with weapons of there own like an axe, knife, chainsaw, a wooden stick, just anything they can find to kill you with. This game wasnt what I expected, the game creators went to a whole different direction with this game. The best part about the game is that you can actually shoot these bad people in the leg and fall down but unfortunately they just die afterwards, you dont get to see them crawl for mercy or beg for there lives. Above all, the game was on top of the line Awsome. I've beaten pretty much every resident evil game there is except for the very first resident evil game where the game takes place in some kind of mansion of some sort, I never got to play it and also the newest resident evil game for nintendo wii, havnt got to play that game either. So anyways thank you for reading my review and have a nice day.

What's great about it: RE 4 and Code Veronica are two of the best RE games ever
What's not so great: It comes with the dissapointing RE Outbreak
I give it such a good review because the collection includes RE 4 , this game is the best of the PS2 era and one of the best of all time and Code Veronica is an excellent game on its own ....., Outbreak is just boring but its there if you wanna try it ....

What's great about it: It has the best Resident Evil games for the Playstation 2
What's not so great: Resident Evil Outbreak or Online
It comes with Resident Evil 4: the longest Resident Evil gameplay of Playstation 2, and Resident Evil Code X Veronica which is the best 3D graphic improvement since all enviroment is 3D. Unfortunely it comes ith Resident Evil Outbreak which your save game is erased after you load the saved game, and after all the game has better gameplay in Cooperation mode, but the good thing is still playable in single mode. There is always a chance to play Resident Evil Outbreak with you friends, so this package of trilogy is a "Must have".

What's great about it: Lots of content, Resident evil 4 is here, and it is a nice variety of games which is surprising
What's not so great: some have aged poorly
This has three games, resident evil 4, resident evil outbreak, and resident evil code veronica X. That is quite a collection for the price. These are probably the best for the PS2, resident evil 4 being the obvious best. I should also say you shouldn't worry about being lost if you hadn't played the previous games, the plot is very simple, zombies and the people who make them are bad.
Resident evil four is fantastic! You should own several copies just in case one gets scratched. I love that game and it is very very good, buy this game of the stand alone version of resident evil 4. I loved this game so much I purchased the collector's edition after purchasing the normal edition, I gave the normal edition to a friend who also loved it.
The other two games are less awesome, but they are still OK, outbreak is like a traditional zombie movie featuring people trying to survive. Code Veronica X is like a military story, commandos fighting commandos and then sometimes zombies. Resident Evil 4 is less like a zombie movie then either of those two because you're on a quest to rescue somebody from a militant cult, some of them are zombie-like, especially when they destroy the farmhouse you are hiding in.
The downside is that code veronica and outbreak have gotten old. code veronica focuses on memorizing where zombies are and how to avoid them, which isn't very fun. Outbreak was an online game that you can still play with robots, it is OK because it is you can choose your occupation and there is quite a bit of randomization so you won't get bored with it anytime soon. Both of the older games look old and have fixed camera angles, meaning you won't see what your character sees and you'll get surprised when you walk around a corner, which is cheap.
Part 4 is worth the purchase price and playing the other games is fun for a bit, especially outbreak because of how much it has in common with zombie movies.

What's great about it: Three games for the price of one, Resident Evil 4 is the best RE released to this date!
A great collection of some of the world’s most frightful videogames! This box set contains three games from the Resident Evil series; including my favorite so far, RE:4. A great buy at an unbeatable price! Highly recommended.

This collection is appropiately called the essentials due to its story twists charging the move from the mansion to new territories but also for its insight to what the average person went through in that nightmare. It may sound overarching the point BUT otherwise any new fans will miss a HUGE turning point in veronica x, miss an otherwise underachiving outbreak. case in point this games are awesome nitpicks from the well of resident evil before its perfection in part 4. which just begs a play if you haven't it! Try it if you are curious and you'll find a frustating game thats worth every second of slow controls just to find the next key.... Just kidding! I love the franchise and since my kids destroyed those games years ago they are worth another buy to fill in until part 5, then i'll be h*** (or heaven) who knows! Just go out and play and have fun!
