This model id good.. Vrery useful, the shortcut keys help to cook food quickly.

I purchased all GE Profile appliances when I remodeled my kitchen. I've been very disappointed in the quality. The stainless dents easily (it came dented) and is difficult to clean so it looked used very quickly. The over the range light in the microwave is weak and in the back so even if it had power it wouldn't light the stove top. The microwave worked great for 2 years then died. The repair man said it is usually a magnetron failure (which is covered by warranty but labor/trip costs still add up to $300 plus). Mine wasn't a magnetron failure the unit just died. Parts/labor/trip costs were more than $600!!! I was offered $80 off since it would be so expensive. Forget it, bought a new LG for less than $300. Will never buy GE again.
What's great about it: cooks well, powerful, looks good
What's not so great: expensive, dents easily, doesn't last long, expensive to repair, over range light is useless

My new house came with this microwave and broke down in 2 years. I've had cheaper microwaves that lasted longer. I do not recommend this microwave.
What's not so great: Broke down for no reason.

We redid our kitchen and decided to install the over the range microwave to replace our countertop one. What a difference. we hooked up an external vent to vent out the cooking odors and absolutely love it. Three fan levels blow plenty of air outside. Fan may be slightly louder, but no louder than our old outdated hood vent that recirculated the air into the room. Still learning all the features, but the frozen vege mode is incredible. No more heating water on the stove for me.
What's great about it: External venting feature, sleek look and multiple features
What's not so great: Light could be a bit brighter

We have had it for just under two weeks and last night we noticed that it was running without it being activated. We couldn't figure it out, the only way to shut it off was to either keep the door open or unplug it. So, we unplugged it!!!!

What's not so great: It has broken already

We just purchased this microwave along with three other major GE appliances last week and couln't be more pleased. I like the sleek modern look it has in my kitchen. This microwave heats food evenly. I also find that it heats up my coffee faster. It is so quiet and barely audible. I like the ventilation feature that turns on each time it's used. My previous microwave was a GE hotpoint that came with my house when we first moved in. That microwave lasted more than thirteen years and was still in good shape when we got this one, we just wanted to upgrade. I am happy with GE and will purchase more in the future. I recommed this microwave if you want both quality and style.
What's great about it: Heats food evenly and quickley. Looks gorgeuos in my kitchen.
What's not so great: At this time, nothing

We purchased this microwave oven a few weeks ago. So far, everything has been perfect and it works well. We love the sensor cooking and the instant-on controls. Every tiime we use this microwave oven, we discover some new fun feature we hadn't noticed before! We initially selected this one primarily as a match for the new gas oven (which hasn't arrived yet), but like it more and more as time goes on.
What's great about it: Looks nice; great features
What's not so great: Nothing (yet)

Overall we were were happy with this unit but then there was a crack in the thin plastic tray roller ring which runs the turntable. It cracks easily. Yes, it's available as a replacement part but the cost is $52.00 This is 14% of athe cost of a NEW unit. And a microwave without a turntable is useless.
Either GE needs to make sturdier parts or charge a lot less less for this essential part. If you clean your microwave regularly and are not GENTLE with this part you can expect it to break within 6 months and need to spend another $52.00. (It's guaranteed but only to work. Not to break into two pieces.

Love this microwave, purchased for a newly remodeled kitchen. Bought to match stove (love the stove!). Also, this seems to be the only brand that has true sensor cooking. It makes popcorn PERFECTLY! Use the popcorn button, it senses when done and stops. Never burn popcorn again!
What's great about it: True sensor cooking
What's not so great: nothing

All-around solid microwave that you will not have any regrets purchasing. Looks and performs very nice. My wife and I installed it easily because the instructions were easy to understand. Two people are definitely needed for installing the microwave, one to hold it in place, while the other to install a few screws for alignment and support. It is much quieter than the older, counter-top microwave we replaced. More features than what we need, but they are there if we ever need them! A little pricier than others, but worth the money.
What's great about it: Great Looks, Solid Performance, Quiet
What's not so great: Does not come with filter for internal circulation setup

This unit matches my kitchen full of GE Profile Stainless
appliances and it is beautiful. The microwave works great and those express cook buttons get lots a use. The vent part of the package, however, is sorely lacking. Very little suction and quite noisy. If I had it to do over again, I would forgo the double oven for a wall oven/microwave combo and install a very high powered vent hood (with a high cfm and a low sohns) over the cooktop. Can't tell you how many times I've set off the smoke detectors, and I'm not that bad a cook. Seriously thought of replacing current micro with a vent hood and buying a countertop micro, but then the next person to buy my house would be complaining that there was no micro over the cooktop. Go figure.

We are so happy that we purchased this Microwave. The design is absoulutely gorgeous and looks absolutely fantastic with our other stainless appliances. The pride of ownership that you will get with this microwave makes it worth every penny. If you don't have a vent to the outside, you need to set the unit up to recirculate by following the installation instructions, which I had no problem doing. For recirculating you will also need to purchase JX81B charcoal filter which I found at ABT.com. Just follow the instructions for removing the top vent to install the charcoal filter.
What's great about it: Gorgeous Looking, Top Quality, Quiet, Worth Every Penny
What's not so great: None Yet

I love everything about this microwave (looks, power, sound level, touchpad) except that it stopped working on the fifth day after installation. We were using it and in the middle of the heating cycle it started humming loudly and after that none of the food was even getting warm.
Service is coming to look at it. Once I placed the call to GE service they set an appointment for 5 days later to try and "Fix" it onsite. If it is unrepariable then I will need to follow up with GE for a replacement.
I thought the GE Profile brand was supposed to be more reliable. Close but no Cigar!!

This microwave was bought recently at Best Buy and I am so pleased with it. I had it installed and have loved it since. It runs very quietly. It looks great and is a trusted name brand. The price at Best Buy was the best around. (trust me-I looked at prices everywhere)
What's great about it: Very quiet, looks great, and it's GE which you can trust
What's not so great: None that I can find as of yet
