"Part of the appeal is the software that comes loaded on the camera itself. You access the software through a computer, view the videos, save the videos, take stills off the videos. The software is really easy to use, only I don't understand why you can't save the software to the hard drive on the computer. Software runs off the usb on the camera, and it runs fine, and it works well, I just really liked the editing options on this software and wanted it saved in a more secure environment. Anyway, this camera is perfect for documenting your life, family, friends, events, babies. If you are more interested in capturing the moment, than in having perfect quality shots, this thing is absolutely ideal. Unbelievably easy to use. The same principal - start/stop - on the play button, the record button, and the delete button ensures that even those uncomfortable with technology with have no problems working it. And again, the software to download videos to computers is a breeze. After downloading the videos using the software, videos played instantly using Media Player. But, when I download the videos without using the software - when I just copied and pasted the videos, Videos did not play. No problem here, though, the software is quite easy to use."

"Over all this is a great camera. So easy to use, even my kids can operate with no problems. Only down side I can think of is no volume control. But great camera for a great price. I'd love to have another one!"

"I just got my new flip video and i've made many just plain and simple small video clips with my buddies and it is perfect for things like that but if you are needing high quality then look in to something diffrent but other wise this is the way to go for the price."

"The camera does what it's supposed to do and does it well. It's not the best choice for family vacations, but it's great for quick movies of kids, video blogging, real estate tours, or anything else that's short, close and well-lit."

Exceeds my expectations

What's great about it: easy to use, compact What's not so great: In extreme cold, will shut off--below 0 degree F.
"I bought 2 of these to use snow skiing. I purchased the helmet attachments from manufacturer. It worked great got clips going up on lift and coming down the runs. One I mount on my helmet and the other for my ski partner so we can get each other on the slopes. I'm very happy with the cameras. They did shut off with the message 'battery low' on extremely cold days but I'm still very satisfied with them. Images were excellent"
